They've confirmed a US release of MP Starscream in G1 colors.

i caved and got starscream to see what the mold is like, and i can't imagine any child transforming this thing (or ironhide for that matter)

the figure really doesn't register as starscream yet, but it's pretty fucking imposing and the transformation sort of comes out of nowhere...i've surprised myself by liking it.

Unless you've got a giant head, it should fit. It looks big on some of the folks who have posted on TFW. I don't think I can bring myself to buy one, though, knowing I'll never wear it.

NOTE: One of the helmets has Cullen's voice, and the other doesn't. The Cullen version says "with the REAL movie voice" on the side of the box. The one I saw at Wal-Mart last week sounded like Cullen, and then when I tried one at Target the other day it didn't, and I was starting to wonder if I was crazy...glad I'm not.

i really really dig Ironhide's cannons in his robot mode, but they are pretty jarring on his alt mode

Topkicks usually have stuff hanging down below the driver door (even if it's just stairs), so they don't really bother me that much.

I only really looked at the Jazz FAB...they basically look like deluxe-size figures with basic transformations so kids can play with them. Jazz's head popped out of his hood, the legs unfolded from underneath and the sides of the hood were the arms, with none of the rotating or folding on the deluxe. Seems like a good idea, considering how fucking complicated the regular figures are.

i like it, i just wish they had better looks to some of them

got the last wreckage and scorponok from cary walmart, along w/ Blackout and Ironhide. Robo-vision prime at target, and the legends class figures at toys r us. Along with all the other stuff the last few days.... god, this got expensive quick.

Still haven't gone through everything but the leader class prime is my favorite so far, next to, of course, Optimash Prime, the potatohead.

hasbro sent us a promotional OPTIMUS PRIME action figure up here at the Technician, but goddamn, it's hard to transform. i'm not sure a 5 year old could get even halfway through.

No worries. I overpaid, too.

Really, it's not that complicated compared to all the spinning and arranging you have to do to MP Prime's torso.

so far with most of these movie toys, i transform them the first time and think "holy shit, i'm gonna have to look at the instructions a second time " Then the second time, I don't. I could be pompous and say its due to ~20 years of collecting these fuckers, but I really don't think that's it. I'm not impressed by all the designs, but I am impressed with the intuitiveness they've managed to pack into some of these, Starscream excluded.

Picked up Barricade for myself and got Speed Dial 800 for my son (he's 2 and likes to play with cell phones). I was amazed to see how little was available. The Toys R Us at crossroads didn't even have their display up yet, only a handful of figures in the regular section. Target didn't have much either. I wanted to pick up the cheaper Robo-vision Prime figure from Target but it was $25. I thought they were supposed to be 19.99. I don't think enough figures have been produced yet for a huge rollout. Maybe in a week we'll see some sale specials.

Target is supposed to have everything on sale until Saturday. Robovision Prime should be $20, deluxes should be $8, etc. The Cary Wal-Mart has everything, all four Voyagers included. There's plenty of stuff out there, the distribution is just iffy.

I got the (Cullen voice) Prime helmet...it's neat and a good, but I'm not sure I like it enough to keep it.

or is that mini scorponok figure in the normal blackout box it?

Its a mini-figure, kinda like the Frenzy fig that comes with Barricade. I have seen a two-pack with Bumblebee and Barricade though.

TRU has an exclusive that's Voyager Blackout and Deluxe Scorponok in the same box for $25, but I didn't see it at the Cary location. I got Blackout at Wal-Mart and he kinda sucks...shoulder pegs are weak (though not as weak as Brawl's) and his backpack goes all the way to the ground.

The Target exclusive is Robovision Prime (Voyager with different paintjob, but normal Voyager Prime is not until next wave) and the three Scout-class figures. I'm not sure if the Barricade/Bumblebee pack is a Wal-Mart exclusive or not, but the five pack of Robot Heroes definitely is.

I've got all of the movie characters other than Megatron, so I'm done with the toys until '08 Bumblebee and Thundercracker come out.

I'm debating if I should get Swindle. He won't be in the film (sequels, who knows?), only the videogame.

His robot mode is awesome though.

Definitely one of the better movie spin-off line designs. Not like the ass that is Signal Flare.

^ Signal Flare is a cheap energon repaint, probably made of all the leftover figures of him that got sent back by the 20 gillion stores that didn't sell him two years ago.

Swindle is surprisingly shitty, I'd avoid him unless you can throw away ten bucks for the sake of your collection.

The build quality of the figure is fine, but I don't know why you'd want a figure that doesn't even have a head. It worked once with Shockwave, but the point of Swindle is to be a soulless, characterless drone, and I just don't get it. To each his own, I suppose, but here's the feedback thread for Swindle:

I'm not sure about the repaint Starscream, but Thundercracker is in Wave 4 of the Voyagers (after Prime & Megatron), and that Jazz is in the next wave of deluxes, which probably won't be out until the movie has opened.
