Back to the ninja 2-fiddy...resale would be a piece of cake. Fun bike, maybe not so much on long trips, but you aren't going to go tearing off across the country anyway. And a LOT of people race those bikes. Hell, Team Squirt might be racing next year.
10/14/2006 9:19:04 PM
Yeah, paint some purple turds on it.

10/17/2006 10:52:36 AM
^^^ too heavy and got 100,000 miles on it for gods sake^^too fast for you, probably to tall^good bike to learn on, but vibrates a lot and realiability/maitnance cost might not be on par with japs.i think an slightly older suzuki gs500 would be perfect for you[Edited on October 17, 2006 at 11:56 AM. you seem to be grasping at any and every motorcycle that comes alongjust chill out and be patient. figure out what you want, THEN look for it.and you don't need a 100k mile bike, even if it's an air cooled BMW. it might be fine, but I wouldn't trust it to someone who isn't good at working on them.you sure as hell don't need an R1, or even an R6. that R1 will go over 100mph in FIRST GEAR. WAAAAY too much for a beginner. way too much for most motorcyclists, for that matter.that Buell Blast would prob be ok. I've ridden one, but it's been a looooong time. don't remember much about it.i'd spend a few hundred extra bucks and get something like that Suzuki Bandit (600, not 1200cc model) that you posted a few links up. that would be a great first bike, and plenty to keep you occupied for a good while.
10/17/2006 3:03:27 PM
i think shed like the buell and the vibration
10/17/2006 3:12:08 PM
I gotta side with Duke and Igor on this one. A GS500E would be a killer bike for a beginner. And I doubt you'd get tired of it in a hurry. Girl I went to high school with had one for a while. She's a little taller than you but built about the same. The Bandit 600 would be a good bike too. Or one of the older Bandit 400s would be a good one as well.I still stick by Kawasaki EX500. Hell, I'd own one just to have a fun bike. Maybe I will if I can find a good price on one.
10/17/2006 4:20:56 PM
i took my beginner class on a buell, very small to me 5'10", but prob great for you. Handles well, and the throttle inst to touchy, well not touchy at all compared to an R6. Maintence is what is gonna kill you on that, i broke 2 during our 3 day class
10/17/2006 4:44:42 PM
How did you break 2?!
10/17/2006 4:50:19 PM
Holy crap.. I am gonna look at three bikes this week Two are Buell Blasters and a GS500 ...
10/17/2006 5:23:01 PM
you staying in garage now Jillene?
