12/3/2006 5:36:23 PM
Bush was absolutely fucking incredible out there today. That was the Reggie Bush i was expecting. Flat out explosive. It just took him a lot longer to get adjusted to the NFL than most people thought.Watch out for the Saints in the playoffs.
12/3/2006 5:43:48 PM
He still looked average as a running back between the 20s... but he showed some serious will to win when it came time for him to get his red zone/goal line carries. As a receiver, he was amazing once again. Give all 4 TDs to Deuce and I'd still say this was his best game.
12/3/2006 6:05:16 PM
He had an outstanding day today. But, Im still not impressed. The 49ers fucking suck balls, and I was expecting him to "do something" today. Will he keep this gameplay up? No. Definitely not in theplayoffs! He's been ghost against more formidable opponents. They just need to move him to reciever man, where he can catch, juke, and run to the outside like he can do best. Both of histd runs were challenged, and he made it in by the skin of his teeth. He's not a Pro Back!!If you want bush to score from the rb position, you have to add "trickery" to the play. He can'tdo it by himself.
12/3/2006 7:08:16 PM
You are in complete denial. He had one of the best games anyone has had this season from the RB position and you think he's not a pro back. What does he have to do to be considered a "pro" back? Dethrone Tecmo Bowl Bo jackson as the best RB of alltime? The 49ers had won three of their last four games and were 5-6 coming into today. Their defense is ranked about middle of the pack. So "suck balls" is a bit of an exaggeration. Its not like everyone has a career day against them.[Edited on December 3, 2006 at 7:27 PM. Reason : a]
12/3/2006 7:24:47 PM
gg bush. ^^ how is bush not a pro running back? he plays the RB position, and he is making money for his services. therefore, he's a professional running back - one that scored 4 td's today.

Congrats to Reggie, I'll give credit where credit is due. He didn't run the ball particularly well but had a good game overall. This is what Bush needs to do every game. Not score 4 td's (that would be a lot to ask of anybody) but be productive offensively. He still needs to learn to run the ball effectively, but he has been better as of late. Not GOOD, but better. That being said, I expect him to have that kind of game against SF. Did I see someone say that they're not bad defensively? They were 18th in the league against the run and 25th against the pass going into the game. Thats with them winning 3 of their last four, which is terrible. I expected Bush to run better in this game. Deuce managed 5.2 per carry, Bush was only at 3.7.Take away a 74 yard catch (with a fumble at the end) and his numbers start to look familiar. In fact if you watched the game it was clear that Bush got most of his production because the 49ers weren't concerned about him. No one else on NO caught more than 2 or three passes, Reggie Bush caught 9. Bush was open because SF was too busy covering everyone else, and he reaped the rewards at his teamate's expense. Also, note that Deuce ran for 136 yards but 0 tds. Didn't it seem strange that every time the Saints got near the goal line the ball started going to Reggie Bush? This despite the fact that Deuce was tearing it up between the 20s. Did they decided that Reggie needed a huge, multi-touchdown game to hide his mediocre at best season and solidify his ROTY status in the minds of the drones that worship him? And even then they had to find overly-creative ways to get him the ball and into endzone against a substandard defence. I'm sorry, but Deuce did the heavy lifting and Bush got the credit. At the end of the day the fact is that the SAN FRANCISCO DEFENSE didn't respect Reggie Bush. And why should they when, until today, they had no reason to.

12/4/2006 9:25:43 AM
^ are you kidding? Why doesn't every team in the nfl do this? How dumb.
12/4/2006 9:29:54 AM
you guys are silly. why would the saints push for ROY for Bush, when they already have the clear choice for ROY on their team in Marques Colston? I'm sure Sean Payton was like "hey, we really need Bush to get ROY, screw Colston..." Yep, that makes sense. It was the pro-bush conspiracy at work yesterday. That's what it was. And the 49ers were playing their part in the "Bush For ROY conspiracy" too - I mean, sure, they were ignoring the guy as he was scoring multiple TD's on them and making them (including state's own Marcus Hudson) look like fools who can't tackle. Yep, that was it. Bush sucks, it was just the 49ers letting him score and the saints feeding him the ball so he can get ROY. That's what it was.
12/4/2006 10:30:43 AM
he won't get it
12/4/2006 12:58:19 PM

^ and the mindless drones who worship espn.
12/4/2006 7:07:00 PM
Let me clariffy something, the ROY comment was a question, not a statement, made in jest, to emphasize a point. Obviously he is no ROY candidate, and obviously the Saints weren't trying to make him one. The point was that while Deuce did the work between the 20s Bush got the ball near the goal line, which is why he scored 4 TDs. To me that was strange, and thats all I was saying. Also, no one said anything about a "conspiracy" or anything close to it. The point, which was missed again, was that the SF defence didn't respect Bush. They instead chose to key on other players which freed him up to score 4 touchdowns, something he could not have done otherwise. Other teams do the same thing. The difference is that SF does not have the defensive depth to simply ignore a player, as they did, and get away with it. So anyway, continue...
12/4/2006 7:13:10 PM
Well, because of that 4 touchdown game people are now putting Bush in their top ten rookies list (go check msnbc.com), despite the fact that he's been ineffective all year. People are calling a game with roughly 30 yards rushing a running back's breakout game...it's kinda ridiculous, when you look at it...
12/4/2006 7:23:17 PM
^He had about 130 yds receiving. And 4 touchdowns is ridiculous.AND...top 10 rookies isn't that big of a deal. Not a lot of rookies play. Now if they put him top 5 or top 3...then that would be pushing. But if you look at his total stats for the year...receptions, receiving yards, the one special teams TD, and now the three rushing TDs...he should probably be top 10 for the rookies.
12/4/2006 7:59:58 PM
I have to assume a few people posting in this thread didn't see the game on Sunday. I'm in the 49ers market and got the game on regular TV so I saw it. First off, Deuce had a good game, but 70 of those yards came after Reggie's 4th TD, late in the game. Second, Bush set up 2 of us own TDs; one on the long play where he fumbled (that was funny) and the other on the great third down reception where he made a guy miss at the line and then carried half the 49ers defense down to the half yard line. Third, they showed NUMEROUS replays (and even commented on it at least a half dozen times) showing the 49ers keying on Bush leaving Deuce HUGE holes on some runs between the tackles. I mean they took the time to use the telestrator AND talk about this literally a half dozen times. Finally, the other players didn't have as many receptions because their two best WRs didn't even play (Colston was inactive and Horn played 1.5 series). Pretty much all the 49ers analysts and callers and sports talkshow hosts said it was the 2nd best game a 'RB' had this year against them (guess who had the best? LT2)Yes, he has been mediocre for a large part of the year but people talking this game down are just being stupid...[Edited on December 4, 2006 at 8:14 PM. Reason : grammar]

It's called constructive criticism. He fucking sucks ass as a rusher!! Noone ever said he wasn't a good player. Hell, I even said he was one of the sickest guys to play the game. I just knew his running style and all the variables along with it from jump. I knew that he couldn't perform that way in the NFL.His yards are recieving yards. He makes an ideal "flanker". He would probably be an awesome wide-out (Hines ward, randell ell). Why is it that people don't want to see him play the wide out position? He's touched the ball multiple times this year, I mean multiple and has done squat.Give him the ball in the backfield, he does nothing. On some type of reverse, flat pass, screen, and he does his thing. Commentators have said multiple times that he "needs space". The majority of pro running backs ive seen don't need space, they create their own space.Just because I say this, dosn't mean Im against bush.[Edited on December 4, 2006 at 8:18 PM. Reason : .]
