Is it really that difficult to look 10 posts up?

getting all the poes... totally not worth iti completed 87.5% apparently. stupid fucking poes

^Yeah, really. I get them all for the sake of getting everything, but the rewards were totally not worth it. Getting a bottle was a good start, I thought, but other than money that's all you get. Which wouldn't be that big of a problem if not for the fact that it is ridiculously easy to find money in this game. In fact, there's TOO much money. I had to resort to wearing the magic armor during the dungeons just so I would be able to collect the money from all the goddamn chests.

We found the bulk of the poes by happenstance, so in that case it wasn't really a hassle.

I've been kicking around the idea of getting this for the Gamecube and had a few questions...1) Are there any major differences between the GC and Wii versions? The only thing I have read so far indicates that the only differences are controls and the versions are mirrored. Any significant differences in graphics? Does the Wii version include any bonus material (dungeons, levels, etc.)2) I've heard a little criticism that I could just re-play OOT and save my money. I assume this means TP follows the same Zelda formulas - 3 dungeons in phase one - 6-8 dungeons in phase two, light, fire, ice arrows, similarly themed dungeons as previous incarnations, etc. How does TP stack up to OOT?3) Is this game as tedious as WW? I hated that game for the constant runaround you got. Travel 10 minutes to get to point x, which tells you to travel 10 minutes to get to point y, which tells you to travel 10 more minutes to get to point z... which was a stone's throw from your starting location. Does TP put you through anything similar to the pointless hunt missions of WW?4) After having played LttP, OOT, and WW I feel burnt out on Zelda. Mostly because of #3 above. Does TP offer anything that might rekindle an interest in the series?

1. Slightly better Wii graphics and the controls are the only differences I think.2. Similar dungeon format. Three dungeons in phase 1 . . . Forest, Mountain, Water. Then a bunch of other dungeons which aren't really similar to any of the other games. There is only one type of arrow, although you can make bomb arrows. There are actually TONS of new items that are extremely fun to play with. Compared to OoT . . . Close to the same length in play time. Its actually much bigger than OoT. There are tons of little mini things to do. I like OoT's story better. The boss fights are MUCH better in OoT, but normal combat is SO mcuh better in TP its not even funny. 3. Its not tedious at all, but you will get sick of all the hidden chests with rupies in them. I don't think there are any real "hunt" missions. 4. The combat in general is incredible once you start learning all the new moves. The cave of trials is a blast.

oh and don't forget for #1) the wii version also supports widescreen format, so you can see more of hyrule.

Just beat it!!!!

Combat it a lot more interactive with the Wiimote and you can do a lot more moves. And the spinner is fun as hell.

Well, I broke down and got it (GC). So far I haven't been disappointed. The hours I logged are from actually doing things and not just sailing around. The game still offers enough change to be entertaining despise following the same formulas. ie So far I've only gotten the standard Zelda items - boomerang, hookshot, iron boots, bombs, arrows, ... in the same temples... mountain, forest, and lake. I expect the thieves camp and desert are the two areas on the map I have yet to reveal.

I've heard about this glitch. Thankfully I didn't do it before I could have known about it. It must've really sucked for the people it happened to.
4/26/2007 11:25:20 AM
I'm glad I never ran into that. Hopefully a patch can be released through the online system somehow. That still leaves GC owners SOL if the glitch is there.

just started playing the game last night and currently think the game is awesome! playing as the wolf, so far, has been pretty cool. it may sound chessy, but being a wolfpack grad and fan kinda makes playing as the wolf seem that much cooler. anyways, i will be visiting this thread again for hints later even if the game is old now.
6/29/2007 1:42:56 PM
It may be old but it is definitely a game I will be replaying in a few months or so.
