I'm glad we can find something to argue about when we sign one of our best players...
7/5/2006 2:51:54 PM
no, i've been following the canes since the beginning, so im no bandwagoner. he was the best canes player on the ice that night.
7/5/2006 2:55:47 PM
HE LOOKED like he was the best, thanks to everyone else.
7/5/2006 3:01:00 PM
Erik Cole drew the penalty that set up the CUP WINNING GOAL. He did it by using his speed, power, and above all else, his move. It's the same move he's been using for years. It's documented in even the most basic commercially-available NHL scouting manual, and yet he still was able to draw a penalty through sheer fitness and skill AFTER BEING OUT FOR MONTHS WITH A BROKEN NECK.I don't want to hear anything else about Erik Cole looking shaky, because it's pure bullshit.
7/5/2006 3:02:29 PM
i don't know why you guys even argue with Josh8315he's consistently wrong about simple shitwhatever you say he'll say the opposite
7/5/2006 3:13:55 PM
He wasn't even supposed to play in the series. Enough said. I have no question in my mind Cole will be full strength next year and will not play afraid. If anything, I could see him playing with a chip on his shoulder.
7/5/2006 3:14:17 PM
cole looked shakey[Edited on July 5, 2006 at 3:16 PM. Reason : very shakey, in game 6.]
7/5/2006 3:16:26 PM
josh is just trolling at this point
7/5/2006 3:26:29 PM
he was also a huge part of staal's success
7/5/2006 3:31:25 PM
7/5/2006 4:15:56 PM
^^in the regular season.
7/5/2006 4:25:20 PM
he wasn't a part of Staal's success in the playoffs?? really?? why's that, Josh?
7/5/2006 4:27:56 PM
he stopped the blow jobs
7/5/2006 4:35:07 PM
12 Sabres players filed for arbitration. Could be a long summer for them.
7/5/2006 6:38:04 PM
its not their fault that buffalo is a shit hole[Edited on July 5, 2006 at 6:54 PM. Reason : a giant freezing shit hole]
7/5/2006 6:49:04 PM
and yet people play there. It has nothing to do with that but more that Regier was too tentative last offseason and didn't take any chances on preformance and now wants to keep everybody which isn't realistic. The team went deep in the playoffs at theworst time possible.
7/5/2006 7:29:57 PM
69 players filed for arbitration; Carolina was one of 7 teams that didn't have any players file.

Here is a slideshow I made using my photos from the 05-06 season: http://www.jonathanhawkins.net/photos/displayimage.php?album=121&pos=0My pictures aren't the best (especially since I was usually in the upper deck ), but I wanted to use only my own images, and I think it turned out pretty well.

Comments from Erik Cole:

7/6/2006 1:43:48 PM
The Joshnumbers statements get better and better. Also, Brodeur would like a word with you.
7/6/2006 1:49:19 PM
^Teams are paying through the nose for some of them, though. I don't really understand it.Thanks for linking the video, Vulcan. That was about the view I had of the finals too, and I'm glad someone tried for photos.

Glen Wesley is back. 1 year at $1.2 million. Our defensive core is set now, so all that is left as far as I can tell is finding another third line forward.I'm assuming the opening night lineup on the blueline will be Kaberle, Commodore, Hedican, Wallin, Wesley, and Tverdovsky, and then we will have good depth with Babchuk and Hutchinson ready in case someone gets hurt or underperforms.
7/6/2006 2:10:33 PM
Leng Slewey is 200% solid. Sa-weeeet.Boooo Tverdovsky. YAAAAAAY Babchuk. Also, can I remind everyone that Tverdovsky never got five assists in one game?[Edited on July 6, 2006 at 2:20 PM. Reason : tt]
7/6/2006 2:19:26 PM
thats great news wesley is back! so does this mean no markov for sure?
7/6/2006 2:24:46 PM
I would assume so, since we have 8 D and need a depth forward and perhaps a replacement for Joe with only $2.4 million remaining.
7/6/2006 2:40:55 PM
maybe someone will take teverdosky
7/6/2006 3:02:56 PM
Bring back Geoff Sanderson
7/6/2006 3:05:36 PM
Slewey is awesome, but I gotta think his minutes are gonna be down to around 14 a game. Even so, the man understands positioning. I want to see some more Babchuk. Set us up the bomb!!
7/6/2006 3:10:24 PM
We have 41.6m in commited contracts?
7/6/2006 3:26:29 PM
No, it's around $37 million right now I believe. J.R. said that his goal for opening day is $40 million, so there is room to sign another forward and maybe a depth player.

7/6/2006 11:09:16 PM
Rod is known as the fitest guy in the NHL. Apparantly no one spends more time in the gym than him.
7/6/2006 11:16:59 PM
Thanks to the Canes for this opportunity!
7/6/2006 11:34:03 PM
you lucky bastard!and may I be (probably not) the first to suggest that our newest player be known solely as "The Big Letowski"
7/6/2006 11:36:54 PM
You aren't the first to use the nickname, but we should probably go ahead and get working on some good photoshops involving it.
