It's a fucking zombie movie
12/26/2007 11:41:44 PM
OK, so you've stated that you hate this movie because Will Smith can't shoot, and he had trouble getting out of a trap that knocked him unconscious and left him hanging upside down for hours.K......
12/27/2007 12:17:09 AM
And you're a total faggot for trying to come up with a justifications for a shitty movie.I don't fucking care if Will Smith's character was in the national guard, Delta Force, or Securitas Mall Corps. It doesn't even matter. Why?Because the movie was fucking terrible and the main character was an emostriking douchebag.whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahha The mannequin didn't say hello! how could this happen to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeLet me go try and commit suicide thereby giving a convenient opening to introduce two new forgettable characters (one of which happens to be a hot female go figure).
12/27/2007 12:59:38 AM
it seems you are the one reaching for things to be upset about.zOMG he isn't as good a shot as he should theoretically be, SHITTY MOVIE.
12/27/2007 1:49:20 AM
Those were the most noteworthy splashes of retard.I've already stated that the movie was filled with other sillyness that need not be mentioned.
12/27/2007 1:57:09 AM
I would agree that the zombie mannequin trap was a tad bit contrived, but they needed a plot device. I don't know how the original story went, but I would have preferred if the ending wasn't so neat. I don't recall any scenes with exceptionally bad shooting though.I liked the movie, one of the better movies i've seen recently.
12/27/2007 2:03:44 AM
Well both the movie and the book have Zombies and a character named Neville.
12/27/2007 2:13:26 AM
And you're a total faggot for trying to come up with a justifications for hating such a cool movie.I don't fucking care if you're so fucking hung up on Will Smith's shooting skills. It doesn't even matter. Why?Because the movie was fucking awesome and the main character was a intriguing look into the survivor genre.whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahha The main character fell on his back from the trap!how could you not like this movieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeGo try and commit suicide thereby giving people who want to discuss the finer points and funny flaws of this decent movie some peace to do so (one of which happens to be a hot female go figure)----------------on another note, I think I'll have to see 28 weeks later, which according to my friend is a completely shitty movie, but he enjoyed this one. could be interesting to see what you people who prefer 28 weeks are talking about.
12/27/2007 2:31:02 AM
go see 28 days later, not the mindless sequel...
12/27/2007 2:35:33 AM
yea maybe it was that oneboth had huge plot holes or continuity oddities he pointed out, like in 28 days were they were in a huge firefight, about to get destroyed, then a '...later...' scene change and everything is just dandy. something like thatthen in 28 weeks the british civilian is given all inclusive rights to US intelligence, kisses his immune wife and gets the aids and proceeds to devastate the military facility from inside the safe room that has no exit or protocol for an infection in the safe area.
12/27/2007 2:42:00 AM
28 days > I Am Legend > 28 weeks
12/27/2007 2:45:31 AM
I hope that everyone realizes that it was a movie, and movies are not real So it doesn't matter
12/27/2007 4:51:21 AM
PeterThats the second time you replied to my copying what I said and changing things around.I'd like to note such originality probably explains why you thought 'I Am Legend' was such a 'cool' movie.Continue seeing skullfucked versions of great short stories.
12/27/2007 11:15:01 AM
I enjoyed this movie. A lot of other people did as well.why does that bother you so much?
12/27/2007 11:40:54 AM
It doesn't.I just replied to nigs quote sniping my original nerd rage.plz2read.thnx
12/27/2007 11:50:57 AM
haha really? i didn't notice it was your post in the other thread tooi just do it to completely off the wall and retarded posts, guess that's just how you areand now you bring out the 'omfg its not the short story KILL IT IT SUCKS I'M SUING FOR ME MONEYZ BACK', so THAT'S why you don't like it should've just said that in the beginning
12/27/2007 12:21:32 PM
WellI meanIt took the name, and then completely discarded the story. And actually ended up slightly worse.Like iRobot.2 for 2 eh?
12/27/2007 12:52:10 PM
i havent kept up with the whole thread, but this page is interesting. i kinda liked the movie but didnt try to pick it apart, i just tried to enjoy it. and whats this about 28 days/weeks later? ive seen both and while 28 days is pretty decent, there are definitely better zombie movies out there. i didnt even see i am legend in the same realm as most zombie movies though. just a different all around kind of thing with a few survival similarities.
12/27/2007 10:47:56 PM
I want to know by what cunt hair you are differentiating this movie from 28 days/weeks later.
12/27/2007 10:55:58 PM
12/27/2007 11:02:53 PM
12/27/2007 11:06:05 PM
why do you people assume that the creatures were the ones to set the trap? it looked to me like will smith was just starting to go crazy and forgot about one of the traps he had been setting up.
12/27/2007 11:23:36 PM
12/27/2007 11:29:01 PM
^^ That's what I thought too.But the evidence from the book combined with the lack of black sheet and the zombie thing holding the 2 dogs as if he was keeping them makes me think it was probably the zombie things.[Edited on December 27, 2007 at 11:29 PM. Reason : ]
12/27/2007 11:29:24 PM
I don't see how the zombies could handle a rope, make the loop and all... They had to rip a whole thru the roof to get into the house.. If they can handle a rope, plan out the trap, you could unlock the front door.
12/28/2007 5:01:11 AM
If they are smart enough to see that Neville is setting a trap and figure out how it works enough to make their own, I would think that they would know not to fall for anymore. Like if they smell blood and see a vial on top of a sheet, I'd think they would be like:Although I think it would be too much of a coincidence that the same zombie dude that stuck his head out at Neville just happened to be waiting in that building with 3 zombie dogs ready to go.[Edited on December 28, 2007 at 9:22 AM. the zombies did show more intelligence than Will Smith was giving them credit for, such as the one dude that was all OMFG YOU DID NOT JUST TAKE MY GIRLFRIEND. But honestly if they were smart enough to rig up a trap that complex, you would think they would be smart enough to build other shit to, which there was NO evidence for whatsoever in the movie.and I didn't read the book, and it shouldn't be part of this debate, since they are separate and clearly different.
12/28/2007 9:44:27 AM
The fact that we call them Zombies makes me nerd rage even more.God why didn't they just fucking name this something else?
12/28/2007 11:14:32 AM
All this discussion about the trap is proof the movie sucked.
12/28/2007 11:17:29 AM
I liked it. Metacritic shows a score of 65..
12/28/2007 11:32:47 AM
"zombies" "vampires" "zomvamps" "night stalkers" whatever.

the press release said that the zombies set the trapthis has been game over for like 10 days on the imdb forums u guyz
12/28/2007 5:27:12 PM
12/28/2007 9:07:49 PM
the vampires obviously set the trap, not even debatable.
12/28/2007 10:28:28 PM
Yeah, it kind of surprises me people even question that... Whether you think they SHOULD realistically have been able to make the trap is debatable. But it is obvious that you, as a viewer, are supposed to know that they set up the trap. It should also be obvious to any casual viewer that as soon as Neville said they are getting desperate and dumber bc the male exposed himself to UV light,.. That he misunderstood and was wrong. my fucking gf even said that as soon as it happened. and she still doesn't even "get" the Matrix.
12/28/2007 10:43:01 PM
yea exactly
12/28/2007 10:57:30 PM
12/28/2007 11:37:49 PM
her?
12/29/2007 12:58:58 AM
i enjoyed it, but it would have better been titled The Omega Man, since it follows that retelling much more so than the source I Am Legend material
12/29/2007 2:19:02 PM
http://joox.net/cat/2/id/2000694Very good quality stream if anyone wants to watch it again. It probably won't be up for too long.

12/29/2007 4:28:34 PM
It's not obvious that Will Smith set the trap at all.You can argue that, because he's clearly loosing his mind, but it wouldn't be an easy argument given the fact that the film devotes so much screen time to the Zombie 'General' as it were.
12/29/2007 4:32:50 PM
^^The zombies having moved one of his mannequins out into the street is what set him off. He went off the deep end because he knew that he didn't move it and he thought the zombies were too stupid to do it themselves.
12/29/2007 4:48:49 PM
I just watched this movie, right after watching Resident Evil III. From the previews of I Am Legend I was excited to see it but I was pretty disappointed. Will Smith did a good job, but there is only so much acting can do for a pointless movie.
12/29/2007 5:22:26 PM
12/29/2007 7:51:28 PM
playing the devil's advocate. I do see how it makes sense that he misjudged the vampire things, but it's a huge jump from "oh this vampire thing is pissed that will smith took his girlfriend" to "oh, these creatures actually have higher level reasoning skills, yet choose to live like animals and eat people in lieu of the abundant wildlife that is available to them."it's just as reasonable in my opinion to get from that whole setup that will smith partially set up a trap to get more of them for testing, but forgot he left the mannequin there for bait because of the whole "will smith is going bat shit post traumal" theme in the movie.
