^ Ha they have Iowa as a 4 seed!?! I guess they are assuming that Iowa will keep playing well or something. Fuck they lost by 30 just two weeks ago to Michigan State. Cbs sportsline needs to run that Muhammed cartoon so that Al Queda will bomb their ass.

I'm tired of this shit... we are 18-4 we beat a top ten team and took another to the wire. I got on Foxsports today and they had a huge article about the Holes in addition to the rankings headline which read "Tarheels back into top 25" we are 7-2 in the toughest conference in the nation and we are getting 6 seeds what a load of shit.

^not hard to be the toughest when you have 35 teams, the acc is still the best top to bottom conference, on any given night anyone can beat anyone, that doesnt happen in other conferences. We're not the best at the top but still are top to bottom.

Yes, if FSU and VT can take them to the wire, no reason wake couldnt.

[Edited on February 6, 2006 at 2:37 PM. Reason : Their first game wouldve been a lot closer if Duke hadnt shot 60 percent from 3pt range (60-100)]

Christ, you people don't even watch basketball, do you?

Wake can't beat anyone. They fucking suck. Duke shooting a high percentage from 3-point range isn't some "accident," it's because Wake doesn't even try to stop anyone.

And we are not the best conference, or even the 2nd-best, this year. Not at the top, not top-to-bottom, not in any way you try to look at it.

agreed. the reason that our low ranking teams can beat our high ranking teams is because our high ranking teams arent that great, not because our low ranking teams are good. (other then duke).

So I am assuming that you are saying that the Big Ten is better than us as well as the Big East. I agree that the Big East is the best conference this year, but the ACC > Big Ten by vitue of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. Top to bottom we are still better than that league.

The bottom teams in the Big Least couldn't beat the ACC bottom teams though. South Florida??? Who the hell could they beat? I mean thats a guaranteed win for the top Big East teams.

Joe Lunardi is a bumbling idiot and I have learned over the years to never take anything he says or does seriously, especially his Bracketology bullshit.

And I absolutely hate that ESPN makes that steaming pile of shit of an analysis its front page CB story every fucking week.

The big east is better at the top but we easily are better from top to bottom. Yea we have Wake and GT which sucks ass but the rest of the conference has been relatively solid this year. Half of the big east is good, but the other half sucks ass. USF is 6-15, ND has one conference win, Depaul is 9-11, both providence and St. John's are 10-10. Wake would easily dominate USF.

u can argue the big east or the acc, but don't even try to bring in the big 10 which we whooped their ass in the challenge even with one of our best teams (BC) not playing in it.

Wow. Its his job. He has gotten the right 64 teams the last like 3 years. He is real bad.

Man knows what he is doing. He had us a 10 last year and guess what? We were a 10.

^^That's not necessarily what angers me. I just think it's ludicrous to try to lay out the brackets and pick seeds midway through the season. It's even more meaningless than the rankings at this time.

I really think that the SH blow out loss blew everyone's confidence in us. Which is fine, if we finish with 3ish losses in the ACC we will be fine.

I think what a lot of people either forget or fail to realize is that conference tournament results factor in these predictions as well. Obviously Joe doesn't have us doing to well in the ACC tourney right now, but that could change as the season progresses and he will reflect accordingly. Also, we are 7-2 with one team nipping one game behind our tails and others not too far behind as well. What I don't understand is how people can get bent out of shape of a prediction in the first place.

All I was saying is how this is just further evidence of the UNC bias when you compare our hype and rankings to UNC's at this point in the season... I understand it doesn't mean anything but in a way it does (money, recruiting, etc.)

The Big East is a fine basketball conference, but year in and year out the ACC is the top dog. This year I will concede that the Big East looks stronger.
