I lost almost every single thing I took today. Pure shit. I had a big bet on Denver trying to play catchup and got absolutely screwed on the hit by Lynch. Total bullshit call. Then, maybe it was a bad spot at midfield but how can that possibly be conclusive to overturn it?
Also, what the fuck was that at end of 1st half. I hate Shanahan. Always have. Think he's pretty dirty to begin with.
Lets see, we're at the 33 with 12 seconds left and no timeouts. Lets run a play and throw the ball. Ok, we don't get it. We don't want to kick a FG so lets run right up the middle and try to get the 33 yards. Man, either kick the FG or throw it in the end zone twice. Throw the ball you moron.
Vegas may have had a hand in that one. I don't know.

Are you serious? Why do you people keep betting AGAINST one of the greatest NFL teams of all time?!? A teaser doesn't matter here. If they're gonna get blown out, they're gonna get BLOWN OUT. The Titans had two WR's out with injuries, two more WR's hampered with injuries and they got the shit beat out of them by Indy earlier in the season. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy would you rather tease Tennessee to +27 than to tease Indy down to -7 against one of the worst teams in the NFL?

Hopefully, you'll remember this post and it will save you money in the future.

In other news, I destoryed my bookie today and hit the first three teams of a four-team parlay. I just need Seattle -4 on Monday night to win $300, on top of the $100 I already have riding on them.

Pushed on the SD/Raiders game last night. Thanks to the Raiders for only scoring 10 points, you lousy bastards.

I'm liking the Seattle -3.5 line tonite, even though they don't win east coast games I think they'll pull it out tonite.

Lil G.....yeah, I KNOW, I KNOW.....

But, man, you just can't tell. First, the Titans gave up a 60 yard fumble return for a TD. Also, they get down to the 2 yard line late in the game. 1st and goal from the 2. They have no chance of winning game. Why not run the ball at least once. They threw 4 straight incompletions. If they get that, I win.

Hindsight is 20/20, but yeah, I should have just played the odds and played Indy.

I just always think back to about 4-5 years ago. I had just started out, been betting for maybe a few months, and a friend called me with a great play on a 10-pt teaser. It was 2 college games and one NFL. The 2 college games hit and so all I needed on Sunday was Denver to beat a pathetic Cincinnati team. Must have been around 2000 or 2001.
I had a lot on it too.

Well, Corey Dillon ends up running for like 350 yards and the Bengals win. Why didn't I just tease the Bengals to +20?

The other thing is that its just so hard to blow a team out in the NFL now. The clock almost NEVER stops. A guy gets pushed out of bounds and the ref rotates his arm to keep it going saying his forward progress was stopped before he went out. Its all bullshit so they can have more time for commercials. I'm just so afraid to take any OVER and feel like its safer to have a team with several points than to count on a team to win.

I'm getting where I hate the NFL. Losing money and its a horrible product overall. 20% football, 80% commercials, etc.

Also took Maryland -3, but I have a bad feeling and expect to lose this one.

rally, yeah I know. They changed that rule maybe 10 years ago. And, seriously, the only reason they changed it was b/c the games were lasting way over 3 hours b/c of all the commercials. Over the years they have just added more commercials so the games have started taking longer. Its ridiculous.

One correction though. The clock does stop when a player goes out of bounds. It stops, then they mark the ball and restart it.

My point is that the refs are using some interpretation of forward progress the last few years. If a player gets pushed out of bounds, apparently they are saying that as soon as he is pushed, his progress stops, so keep running the clock. Don't stop it like he's out of bounds, and then restart it. Just keep it going.

If he's going forward, then I guess he's out of bounds. But if he's going sideways or backwards, then he's inbounds. Kind of sucks when a guy is TRYING to go out of bounds late in the game but gets TAGGED and they keep running clock.

I used to love the NFL, I'm getting where I hate it.

I've got the last leg of a 4-game ML parlay on Seahawks. Nice payout if it hits. I've also got Sea -3, I bought 1 point. Just trying to play it a little safer and get some money back. Yesterday was prob. the worst day I've ever had.

I'd say the best bet is to go against me. I was miserable yesterday and been pretty bad on Monday nights. Ruined what was a great Sat. on college football and boxing, which included Taylor and some guy named Israel.

I had a MONSTER comeback last night. Huge payout on Seahawks. While the game was on, I played a poker tourney with 100 people. Every time I looked up, Seabird D was scoring. I played tourney tight as hell til late, and finished 2nd. Got lucky on a couple hands late. 195 off a $10 entry. Hit 2 NBA games. Twolves and Mavs. Had those 2 with Heat on 3-team parlay that almost hit. That parlay was all I lost last night.
I took a lot out of my account today. Going to play smaller for rest of season.
Went crazy Sunday chasing losses and lost about 400 but made it up and then some last night. Don't need to be doing that, not worth it.
Was a fun ride though.

Big trend on N.Iowa game. Home unranked team is favored against a ranked team. I'm on N. Iowa with a medium play. I think I got real lucky with this trend in UNC/Illinois and not going against it tonight.

Iowa has also won 2 of the last 3 games played in the series and 30 of all 35 games played. It's not like Northern Iowa has their number.

If this year's Iowa team is getting points against an unranked team, I'm taking Iowa every time.

N. Iowa...

I've got 35 on them. Medium play. I don't know much about them. But I see a heavy trend, and I smell a huge trap. Thats why I took them.
In the world of gambling, I've found that if something looks too good to be true, it usually is.

Looking forward to seeing how this one plays out.

YES! N Iowa wins by 4 in OT. I followed the last few mins of reg. and OT online. Seems like it was a hell of a game. A lot of 3's while I was keeping up with it.
We could research all we wanted on that one. Line was almost a pick and not only did it go into OT but it was anyone's game with a minute left in OT. Just glad to get it.

Thanks apex. It was no sure thing by any means, as the game proved. All I can say is that I've learned that when a line looks too good to be true, just use a little caution and do some research.
Also, I don't think Iowa was a bad play at all. I think putting a lot on either side would have been a bad play. Haven't looked at anything today yet.

Play tight most of the time, but also switch gears. Theres plenty of info on TXholdem online and you could prob. get a book pretty cheap.
I read 2 books and looked online, and have played a lot online the last couple years. I played a tourney mon, night and got 2nd out of 100 people. Feel like I got top 10 with good play. Final 8 I was last in chips but got lucky on a river, and then got some good cards. Should have won the thing there at the end, but couldn't get any cards.
I like tourneys a lot better than regular games.
I'm not great by any means, but decent.

Position is everything. If you have A J and bet early, or even just call, then someone raises huge, you prob have to fold, and you've just lost chips. But if your late, you can see what everyone else does, and possibly steal blinds or semi-bluff it if you need to. Also, reading the board. If the board has a pair, someone might have a full house. If 3 suited cards, a flush, etc.

I like to play fairly tight and always show my cards. Let people know I only bet with good cards. Then, I'll bluff hard one hand and if I win, I'll show. Then, when I bet hard next time, they just don't know.

Best thing is to just learn when to bet, how much to raise, stuff like that. Know some of the odds, such as a pocket pair vs. AK. I think its about 55% for the pair. Just learn basics and play a lot.

I love playing online, but I think most programs tend to let those str8s and flushes hit on river.
