I always laugh whenever I see any hero who relies rather heavily on metal vs. Magneto. It should, by all rights, be so one-sided. And yet, sadly... (I guess Wolverine would be the exception, but that still didn't end the way it could have.)
6/20/2006 11:17:32 PM
I'm pretty sure Cap's shield is non-magnetic, and I'm guessing Tony pulled some way out of his ass to make the Iron Man and Iron-Spidey suits non-magnetic, as well. Cap's chainmail and Wolverine's adamantium, however, should be open season. But Magneto is lame as Hell, so he's going to get owned.
6/20/2006 11:28:53 PM
Tony is just going to throw empty liquor bottles at him, Spider-Man as well
6/20/2006 11:37:54 PM
I always thought Cap's shield was coated with adamantium..? It's been a while since I've read Captain America, so who knows if they've changed that up since then.
6/21/2006 12:00:26 AM
It's part adamantium and part vibranium, if I recall correctly.
6/21/2006 12:08:23 AM
Ok, either way, Magneto should totally pwn Captain America into oblivion
6/21/2006 12:11:36 AM
"Should" means nothing in comics. Amazo, with literally all the power of the entire fucking Justice League, SHOULD beat Batman and Nightwing, but things didn't exactly turn out that way.
6/21/2006 12:17:48 AM
C'mon now. It's Batman.BATMANDude could beat God if he was given enough time to figure it out.
6/21/2006 12:20:10 AM
Batman is an over-blown pussy.
6/21/2006 12:23:59 AM
Amazo is so limited by its programming that its powers disappeared when Superman temporarily disbanded the Justice League ("all the powers of the Justice League" + "no more Justice League" = "no more powers"). Is that stupid? Yeah. So is a robot called "Amazo" with "cells" that can adapt to such a wildly diverse array of powers.Besides, humans always find a way to beat robots. That's a law of physics.
6/21/2006 2:09:26 AM
I love names like "Amazo". Sounds like a traveling-circus robot.

Maybe you shouldn't take comic books so seriously, guy.
6/21/2006 8:01:04 AM
Maybe you should stop taking me so seriously, guy.

i stopped by foundation's edge...hadn't been there in a month, so i was gonna see if anything new was in....i saw blue beetle #3 and i didn't hav that so i picked it up...but the cover is seriously bentthe guy behind the counter said "you don't even wanna know why that's bent"and of couse as soon as he said that i did wanna knowhe told me 2 guys were in there FIGHTING over the dang thing and he kicked them out and didn't let either of them get it. . .
6/21/2006 1:06:57 PM
Fighting over Blue Beetle #3 is like fighting over who gets to ask out the fat chick.

Blue Beetle is a good title. It's on my pull list. Okay, my pull list is a minimum of $50 a week, but still....
6/21/2006 2:21:41 PM
I only perused the BB title for a second but does it involve a mech-Blue Beetle?I've liked Blue Beetle since the 80's but I'll have to get used to it again. I can't spend $50/week
6/21/2006 2:26:00 PM
Not mechanical. He's imbued with the mystic power of a mysterious scarab artifact, power that grants him the use of an intelligent, thought-reactive suit of magic armor.
6/21/2006 2:56:35 PM
^Neato. Thanks.Didn't the old BB's have the scarab before? (At least the orig Blue Beetle)
6/21/2006 3:08:48 PM
The original original didn't have it, but the Charlton original drew his powers from it. Ted Kord had the scarab in his possession, but though he suspected it contained untapped power, he never figured out how to use it. Due to the events of the Days of Vengeance storyline, the scarab came into the possession of the new kid, Jaime, and fused with his spine.
6/21/2006 3:13:35 PM
Ouch. I hate it when things get fused to my spine.
6/21/2006 3:24:51 PM
i only pick it up cause i remembered loving cully hamner's work on the old john stewart mosaic books
6/21/2006 6:46:27 PM
Just got my Astonishing X-Men issue 15 in. Its pretty damn funny. This is getting exciting.I dont really care for the "Destroyer of Worlds" junk they're throwing in though.

6/21/2006 11:13:44 PM
That's cool, it was a touching little story. I think it's well suited to film.
6/21/2006 11:15:34 PM
eh, picked up my stuff todayread the new flash so far, thats it. havent even read 52 from last week yet so im a bit behind.oh and they do have OMAC!! i knew it!
6/21/2006 11:30:16 PM
I subscribed to "The Ultimates 2" for 12 issues and started with issue 6. Does this mean that it will spill over to "Ultimates 3" or just stop at the end of this series? I'd be pissed if I paid $27 for 6 issues.
6/22/2006 6:01:17 PM
aha
6/22/2006 8:33:22 PM

^ Wow, awesome. Thanks alot.I wonder how hellish it would have been to have been a subscriber to "Youngblood." Besides the shitty comic book of course.
6/23/2006 4:32:43 AM
^^^^Definately a great ish. I really loved the homage of the last frame.
6/23/2006 5:37:08 AM

I just finished reading through Preacher for like the 5th time.Ennis + Dillion =
6/23/2006 9:46:12 AM
went to the comic shop in Durhambought Batman, the Hush issues, got Kingdom Come for free.
6/23/2006 8:30:07 PM
6/23/2006 11:13:21 PM
^^ The first Hush arc was ok...until the last issue. I dont know why, but I found it underwhelming.
6/24/2006 2:45:07 AM
I really liked the first Hush arc, but the second one, in Gotham Knights, was really... bad. It started out strong, but once Hush somehow turned the JLA-defeating Prometheus into his bitch, I got turned off.
6/24/2006 7:47:52 PM
I don't really remember what happened at the end of Hush. I just remember pretty pictures of Batman fighting most of his rogues gallery, a guy we had never heard of but was "really close" to Bruce getting killed, and Bats beating the crap out of the Joker for an entire issue. Anything else happen?

Yea, I've read the first year or two of that too... I know most comic fans don't like when people do this, but here's how I work...I download a shit ton of comics as .cbr's or .cbz's, read them, and if I really like it, I'll buy the tpb. It's how I got into all the vertigo titles, and it's the only way I'd actually go out and buy the stories. I haven't bought a comic in like 8 years.
6/27/2006 8:58:48 AM
Eh, I'm a hardcore comic fan, and I don't give a shit. The way I see it, for the most part, the people who download comics are people who 1) can't buy comics for whatever reason, 2) wouldn't read them if they weren't free or 3) are trying to get extremely hard-to-find-and-get-a-hold-of issues. And hopefully, in the former two cases, they'll end up buying them anyway.
6/28/2006 2:55:32 AM
Man, whoever said it before was right. The New Avengers sucks. I'm so glad my subscription is running out. This last story arc with the "mutant with a bazillion mutant powers" was lame. I think the artist sucks, I think the writing is lame now too. Ugh.
