3/28/2005 9:55:49 PM
is there anything i should know before cleaning/lubing my bike chain?
3/29/2005 9:21:46 AM
Not really. Just get a small stiff brush and some degreaser and start scrubbing. Whatever chain lube you are putting back on should have some instructions. I used some chain wax the last time I cleaned one and it said to ride for about 5 minutes to heat things up before spraying it down really well with the wax.

hey, i'm buying a helmet today at my local shopwhat do i need to look for
4/1/2005 11:09:10 AM
Cool graphixOh wait...seriously though; I'd buy one off eBay. My Shoei RF-800 had a $299 price tag on the box and I have seen it in that price range at the stores. I didn't pay that much for it, but the guy that bought it did. You can save well over $100 by picking it up off eBay.[Edited on April 1, 2005 at 12:20 PM. Reason : s]

I guess this is more of a looking to buy post.I'm a big guy, 6'2", 350 lbs and I want to get a bike to learn on. Eventually I want to get some kind of harley cruiser, but for now anything that's relatively cheap and won't make me look like "an elephant riding a pissant" would be ok. If you have a match, that doesn't need work, let me know the specs in reply or PM with your asking price.Jeff

Hey guys I might seriously be interested in getting a bike. But my question is, I have to wear a suit to work and would like to find out if there is anything you can buy that you can wear over a suit. With a 30+ mile drive each way, I'd like to find any excuse to save money on gas. Plus I'd love to have a damn bike. Riding in the country like that would be a great chance to roll 100+ half the way. But I need to know what sorta equipment would I need to ride, and is there anyway that I can get a riding outfit that would go over a suit and not make it wrinkled to shit or me feel extremely uncomfortable??
4/7/2005 7:24:57 AM
i ride wearing shirt and a tie all the time. i havent tried suit yet. there are weatherproof jackets you can buy to fit over your suit though
4/7/2005 8:02:54 AM
(60 miles a day on the bike)+(rolling 100+ half the way)--------------------------your family putting the bike up for sale with the rest of your estate
4/7/2005 8:19:03 AM
haha riding a motorycle with a suit, take a pic. haha greatness.
4/7/2005 1:28:57 PM
somebody buy mine before I get stupid on it
4/7/2005 3:48:21 PM
^put it in tha paper. if anyone here would have had the monayz to buy something that new, they would have already bought it
4/7/2005 4:23:48 PM
Haha, naw the wife wouldn't let me ride that damn fast. It does have some nice straightaways that if I ever got good at riding and had a fast bike it might be a cool area to ride. But how reliable is a bike for riding like this everyday and how many miles they can handle before they start breaking the hell down?Oh and BTW I don't have to wear a suit jacket, just dress pants/shirt/tie, thank God.
4/7/2005 5:46:54 PM
modern motorcycles are pretty dependable..you take care of them, they will take care of you..not a whole lot different from a car...put gas in em,make sure they have oil and coolant,RIDE SMART..and a bike should be no problem at all...
4/7/2005 8:46:17 PM
^^^^ yeahIt's getting serviced right nowI'm putting it in the cycle trader next week

but its green, nonetheless, very nice ride. good price for such a new bike.
4/9/2005 2:26:57 AM
$50 for the first gear jacket
4/9/2005 5:45:54 PM
would you take 1500 for the bike w/ the 2 helmets, and a jacket?
4/9/2005 6:15:20 PM
I've got that First Gear mesh jacket. Once you get rolling you can't even tell you are wearing a jacket with it. The air flows completely through it just like if you were only wearing a t-shirt. I give it a thumbs up for summer riding and you can put a windbreaker under it for spring/fall riding.
