Until he sprays enough Axe Body Spray around the facilities to finally cover up TOB's Skin Bracer smell, success isn't possible. Nick Saban wouldn't have won a conference game his first year with old man O'Brien's mess.
11/28/2015 3:59:59 PM
a lot of coaches would have won a few conference games with that team. DD probably could have but didn't want to and I didn't want him to. thats not the point though. DD's goal was never to have immediate success. His goal is to build a program for the long haul.[Edited on November 28, 2015 at 4:10 PM. Reason : that also explains why he didn't hesitate to kick a sr leader off the team in a developmental year]
11/28/2015 4:08:28 PM
lol at a coach not wanting to win games
11/28/2015 4:09:06 PM
Steve logan pretty much said those exact words
11/28/2015 4:11:07 PM
Well, expect things to only get worse for the next 2-3 years, or at least until we get another superstar QB. Unfortunately, we cant do anything about it this year. So we are at least 3-4 years from being competitive again.
11/28/2015 4:25:30 PM
Yeah...
11/28/2015 4:27:28 PM
we're competitive now. just not competitive against top 14 teams. Not many teams are. I'm not sure there is a team who would have less than 2 losses with our schedule this year.
11/28/2015 4:27:46 PM
any coach in america could be competitive against 2 sun belt, 1 cusa, 1 FCS team a year and BC Wake and Cuse. those are the only games doeren can win, so why bother keeping a coach that performs at the absolute bottom?

held onto 3 timeouts in a quarter like that? [Edited on November 28, 2015 at 4:34 PM. Reason : ]
11/28/2015 4:33:25 PM
I guess some people are content with failure
11/28/2015 4:33:30 PM
A coach should be fired. OC or DC
11/28/2015 4:35:17 PM
Yes. Fire somebody
11/28/2015 4:35:39 PM
you are just butthurt about losing to unc and being irrational. children want to beat the best teams and WANT IT NOW but thats just not realistic.I'd respect your criticism if you set expectations ahead of time, laid out guidelines for exceptions and requirements for keeping the job, then stuck to it like i have but thats not easy.
11/28/2015 4:37:28 PM
Regardless, Doeren is here next year. Too many jobs open and with where we are in the pecking order, we wouldnt get anyone better
11/28/2015 4:39:10 PM
E Man, will Doeren want to make halftime adjustments to get back in the game, or is he looking ahead to beating UNC in 2017?]
11/28/2015 4:41:46 PM
the only adjustments he can make is getting on the phone to talk to some recruits to try and spin this as a positive.[Edited on November 28, 2015 at 4:44 PM. Reason : or call shad to come suit up]
11/28/2015 4:44:03 PM
Did UNC just scored on every possession they had in the first quarter?
11/28/2015 4:44:26 PM
TOB's offense was at least dynamic enough to come back from a huge deficit like this (ie vs UMD). Unfortunately, there is nothing special or dynamic about Doeren's offense.
11/28/2015 4:46:24 PM
NOICE^
11/28/2015 4:50:02 PM
Hahaha TOB's dynamic offense
11/28/2015 4:54:44 PM
but he came back against that elite maryland team
11/28/2015 4:55:39 PM
Doeren wouldn't have even TRIED to come back against Maryland. It's more important to get his own seniors in here, THEN we can try.
11/28/2015 4:58:34 PM
we should hang a banner for that maryland game. maybe we can bring the whole team back on the anniversary to fire up DD.
11/28/2015 5:03:34 PM
going for it on 4th an 5 was a bad call in hindsight but you can't fault him for trying to capitalize and get a td while you can.
11/28/2015 5:07:32 PM
Why didnt we have someone back to return the missed FG? We are never prepared to make big plays.
11/28/2015 5:14:23 PM
I have no issue going for it on 4th and 5th, I preferred that over the field goal with a spotty kicker. However, when you see that Jacoby has been on and off throwing for the first half AND you have marched down field mostly with running then don't stop what worked.
11/28/2015 5:19:58 PM
11/28/2015 5:34:50 PM
Gutless to punt there.
11/28/2015 5:44:18 PM

Great clock management fucktards
11/28/2015 6:34:16 PM
You know as someone who was vehemently anti-Doeren through first half of last year, I gotta give +1 cred to him for the team not folding after 35-7
11/28/2015 6:51:17 PM
This was such a Doeren game. So many moral victories. Yet we still end up with the L.So after three years he is averaging 2 conference wins/year. Not good, Bob.
11/28/2015 7:10:11 PM
After today day i'm more than convinced he's a fraud. He has 0 wins against teams with a winning ACC record, 0 in three years. I'm waiting to hear the excuses.[Edited on November 28, 2015 at 7:12 PM. Reason : .]
11/28/2015 7:12:10 PM
I'd like to think you guys are rational people. The fact that his year 1 is counted against him with equal weight as lets say this year is completely irrational
11/28/2015 7:12:30 PM
they are never rational after a loss to a rival
11/28/2015 7:13:58 PM
Lets just count the last two years? What are his signature wins?
11/28/2015 7:13:59 PM
If we had pulled out a win versus Clemson or UNC in his first year, I'm sure you'd be reminding us every 10 posts that TOB should get partial credit for the wins.
11/28/2015 7:14:19 PM
No one could rationally consider this year to be successful, especially for year three. We are so far from competing for a .500 conference record, yet alone a championship. And with a new (and apparently bad) QB coming in next year, we wont be competing for a championship for at least 3 more years.Winter is coming.
11/28/2015 7:17:56 PM
year 3 is very early. 7 wins in success considering the extreme circumstances. losing a qb who couldn't throw downfield is not a big deal. we won't compete for championships unless clemson and fsu both self destruct. thats just not realistic and if that is the requirement, then you may as well suspend the program until saban decides to come.
11/28/2015 7:23:28 PM
Saw this on twitter and agree
11/28/2015 8:23:58 PM
So this year we basically won the games we should have so I guess no wtf losses is nice but we lost every single toss up game. I felt like this year it was expected to get at least one of those which is why anything less than 8-4 was a disappointment in my eyes and showed no progress. 7-5 this year is worse than 7-5 last year because the schedule was there and we had a senior QB. If we are happy beating BC Wake and Syracuse every year and scheduling 4 cupcakes to get to 7 wins then I guess that's fine but if we don't start wining some of these Louisville VT UNC games in the next 2-3 years then it's time to try again. I don't expect to beat Clemson or fsu consistently we aren't in the coastal so we won't get a free division title, but 9 win seasons need to become our expectation if we are trying to get better.
11/28/2015 8:47:05 PM
i completely agree with everything you've said. the louisville and vt games were games we could have won. i think we would have won them if we had more time to adjust to the loss of thornton with the way we're playing now. if we don't see better results next year, there will be reason for doubt and absolutely no way he survives two more years of this.[Edited on November 28, 2015 at 9:49 PM. This is what we are though, based on the recruiting and schedule, we are a 7-8 win program that can occasionally bubble up to the 9-10 win range along with having those 5-6 win seasons. Go play in a low to mid-range bowl and beat a directional Florida. Clemson and FSU are rolling, and they are both recruiting well, so I don't see the gap with those teams closing. What is changing anytime soon? Everyone has good facilities now, we have no real football tradition to lean on, barring sanctions(maybe coach leaving?) at UNC I only see that program getting better so that hurts in-state...the way these divisions have played out has allowed for UNC and even Duke to build momentum, promote winning a lot of games and playing for conference championships/potential to be in the hunt each year. Meanwhile a season where we beat Clemson and FSU while also not screwing up against whoever else seems almost impossible at this point to even just be in the mix to play for a conference title. Just not sure what we are selling right now other than just hoping DD can really develop the semi-decent young talent we have and put together a big season next year and use that to build recruiting momentum. Otherwise all signs are pointing to long-term mediocrity.
11/28/2015 10:11:21 PM
^ man, if I had typed that...
11/28/2015 10:38:22 PM
I'm giving him one more year before considering torches and pitchforks. I think he inherited such a bad system and I didn't expect things to turn around as fast as they already have. From shitty to mediocre in 3 years, so let's see what happens next.[Edited on November 28, 2015 at 11:01 PM. Reason : -]
