https://www.facebook.com/WxRisk/posts/823746347672625:0Pretty bold forecast.
2/23/2015 9:08:04 PM
I dunno seems like all the forecasts I'm seeing are backing off of the numbers from earlier today. Most have gone from 3-5" to 1-3"
2/23/2015 9:12:55 PM
The latest SREF Plume is trending up though. They added about a 1/2 inch on the average.
2/23/2015 9:24:52 PM
^^ I've seen numbers for tomorrow decrease but numbers for wed/thur increasing
2/23/2015 10:13:33 PM
2/23/2015 11:08:24 PM
2/23/2015 11:54:18 PM
The mean of all the models is showing 3-6 inches for the Charlotte to raleigh corridor. Could get more, could get less...obviously.
2/24/2015 12:45:50 AM
http://www.wral.com/triangle-expected-to-receive-1-2-punch-of-snow-this-week/14465363/WRAL is being cautious for sure.
2/24/2015 1:21:15 AM
Snowing in Chapel Hill. Cars and parking lots are already getting covered.
2/24/2015 6:22:24 AM
Wake county announced a 2 hour delay for today after many students were already on their buses
2/24/2015 6:30:57 AM
^and I'm already a work. Total bull shit.
2/24/2015 6:36:57 AM
Nothing up in Brier Creek yet. Debating on staying home anyway
2/24/2015 6:44:51 AM
Yeah I was already up and showered. FML. How much are we supposed to get out of this? We're still supposed to get it tomorrow night too?
2/24/2015 6:45:01 AM
not sure, sounds like its a bit more than they expected today, but tomorrow [night?] is still gonna be the hammer[Edited on February 24, 2015 at 6:49 AM. Reason : .]
2/24/2015 6:46:51 AM
Roads in Holly Springs are already covered
2/24/2015 6:53:24 AM
I turned the news on a little late, did I hear them say we could get 3 inches today? I thought we might get a dusting, now my street is already white. Debating on driving to the office downtown. Its too early for this shit
2/24/2015 6:57:57 AM
Snowing off Kaplan
2/24/2015 7:01:17 AM
1-2" in Wake County. 3" is in Fayetteville area
2/24/2015 7:05:29 AM

2/24/2015 7:27:20 AM
I felt the back of my car dancing a bit in RTP so I came home
2/24/2015 7:46:04 AM
Looking out over 40 at 540 and its crawling. [Edited on February 24, 2015 at 7:49 AM. Reason : ...]
2/24/2015 7:49:02 AM
I got the old why the fuck are you calling me from my boss. 10 minutes later he calls me back and tells me he watched the weather and realized I was right and not to come in. What to do today...
2/24/2015 7:50:57 AM
I'm not going into the office...at least not for a few hours. The summer tires on my car hate snow with a passion, though I just drove around my neighborhood a little bit to get a "feel" for their adhesion limits. Wasn't that bad actually.[Edited on February 24, 2015 at 7:55 AM. Reason : k]
2/24/2015 7:55:26 AM
2/24/2015 7:57:50 AM
^^ it's so dry that it's fine to drive on where it's been lightly traveled, where i started to slip was where it had been packed down a bit so I said fuck that and turned around and came home
2/24/2015 7:59:30 AM
SREF Plume now has 3 models that are at 18+ inches for total snowfall by Thursday around noon with the average around 10. http://www.spc.noaa.gov/exper/sref/fplumes/index2.php?YMD=20150224&RT=03&PRM=Total-SNO&SID=RDU&INC=ALL&NNC=&max=&min=&mZOOM=7&mLAT=36.65492745772943&mLON=-81.80324233398437&mTYP=roadmap
2/24/2015 8:06:38 AM
Are any major companies in RTP even delayed this morning? This is fucking stupid, Google traffic is red all over the place.[Edited on February 24, 2015 at 8:13 AM. Reason : ]
2/24/2015 8:12:21 AM
haha wtf it's snowing?? AAAAAAHAHAHA
2/24/2015 8:14:59 AM
I'm WFH, google maps has my normal 10-15 min commute taking 40+ minutes
2/24/2015 8:15:33 AM
The major roads are a disaster right now.
2/24/2015 8:24:31 AM
Passed 4 wrecks on US1 south this morning. Roads got shitty pretty quickly.
2/24/2015 8:26:28 AM
one of our employees gave up and pulled into a restaurant for coffee after spending 1hr+ from Cary (near crossroads area) to Airport Blvd via I-40. He had already left before we sent out the winter weather email, I told him he could expense whatever breakfast/coffee he wanted if he felt like camping out there for awhile. Another guy was coming in down 70 and turned around and went home because of the number of accidents he saw.fuck all that mess, stay home.
2/24/2015 8:28:04 AM
It's only going to get worse when people try to leave for the day.
2/24/2015 8:30:24 AM
I'm actually skeptical that it could be worse than the traffic right now. It should be fewer people. Then again the drivers around here are constantly exceeding expectations for bad judgement...
2/24/2015 8:31:43 AM
MBP1 is a little bitch.I slipped several times on 440 this morning... between capital and six forks... where traffic always fucks itself. Slow moving traffic is allowing the snow to stick to the road and get compacted; elsewhere it was just blowing off.
2/24/2015 8:43:21 AM
Will this be all day snow?
2/24/2015 8:49:01 AM
So looks like this system is over-performing and the system for Wed night/Thursday is starting to trend away from the big amount of snow people were predicting yesterday.
2/24/2015 8:50:39 AM
WORKING FROM HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMEwhich is rare b/c usually i have no "work from home" type of stuff to do. this is AWESOME
2/24/2015 8:52:38 AM
i've got my blower gassed up and ready to go, i'm going to blow off my sidewalk and steps every hour(ish) so i don't have to shovel anything and don't have any ice
2/24/2015 8:53:54 AM
whats thursday/friday going to look like in raleigh? ill be in town.
2/24/2015 8:58:16 AM
fine
2/24/2015 8:59:38 AM
Looks to me like it'll be tapering off in the next 1-2 hours, with a possible small cell or flurries this afternoon.
2/24/2015 9:20:16 AM
so are they saying no more snow on Wednesday night?
2/24/2015 9:20:36 AM
I don't know who they is, but they is wrong.
2/24/2015 9:23:42 AM
The roads are fine except for idiotic accidents...so yeah, the major ones are a disaster. Don't even go near them--back route to the store if you need something.
2/24/2015 9:24:20 AM
ugh why is Feb. always the coldest/most miserable month, yet closest to Spring
