^ It should be harder to find people willing to say that to a news reporter in front of a TV camera.

from Daniel Primack's private equity newsletter:

Doesn't Obama want to place a "sales tax" on stock purchases? I mean, I saw a clip of him talking yesterday where he said this, though I don't know the details.
10/15/2008 6:13:53 PM
so tell me, under Obama's plan, if Wal-mart hires new employees, do they get those tax credits? If so, then doesn't that equate to tax cuts for "big corporations" as well? Gotta love the spin-job by Obama and the media, though.
10/15/2008 6:22:30 PM
yup - definitely a lot of spinning going on.furthermore, i think Obama's been doing a lot of pandering to the base - no way in hell he will be as much of a socialist as he sounds. he's too smart, and surrounded by U of Chicago economics guys..
10/15/2008 6:24:44 PM
his plan is better than the status quo.
10/15/2008 6:27:11 PM
is it? As far as I can tell, his only real plan is to say he isn't George W. Bush. And, after perusing Obama's website and then taking a shower to feel cleaner, I see that he doesn't say which companies will get that tax-credit. So, if Wal-mart goes out and hires a bunch of people, then I don't really see how it is any different than McCain's "200billion to big corporations." Who will most be able to hire new workers? The largest companies.
10/15/2008 6:35:41 PM
so long as they're increasing the size of the american workforce, what's the problem?
10/15/2008 6:58:30 PM
^^He does too, he says small businesses.on the side stride too, small businesses account for the majority of employment in this country.[Edited on October 15, 2008 at 7:11 PM. Reason : .]

expectations are now so low for mccain, he will probably "win" this debate.
10/15/2008 7:22:13 PM
you seriousmccain will not win this debatenot even come close
10/15/2008 7:37:36 PM
^^^ I see nowhere on his website where he says "small businesses." In fact, with all of his lip-service to small-business, it is surprising that nowhere in the bullet point where he proposes the credit does he use the term "small business." Instead, he says "companies," which, frankly, includes Wal-mart and Microsoft. And, when I hear him speak, he usually doesn't say it is for "small-businesses." He almost always says "companies."
10/15/2008 9:12:36 PM
McCain = desperate. How much rehearsal did he have about the Ayers topic? It's a really really sad tactic to say Obama started his political career in Ayers campaign when that has already been proven false.
10/15/2008 10:03:38 PM
McCain looked far from desperate tonight.

i'll again repeat that the moderator tonight did a much better job than power-hungry lehrer and brokaw did in the first two debates...he really let the candidates talk back and forth much more than the previous two debates...i wish we couldve seen that in the first 2 debates

Palin is insignificant. The only people who care about her are men that want to bang her (95%).
10/16/2008 1:34:11 AM
^ Palin is completely insane, I think. She's definitely closer to Bush's personality and style than McCain, by a very wide margin.
