It depends more on what you're having done rather than what type of dress it is to begin with.My sister had hers taken in, a built in bra made and it taken up and pretty sure she got it done for around $150 or so.

dbl posttttttthere are some details with the lace... this is what I meant by there are little bit of lace detailing on the chest that tie it all in together scallop hemempire waist detailslace flowers (this should be flipped over... the flowers look like they're climbing up parts of the dress)
7/21/2011 8:25:33 PM
Aww yay I'm glad you found something you like! I wanna see
7/21/2011 9:10:17 PM
I think I'm going to go with a lace bolero... any ideas for Etsy sellers? alexbridal seems good, and I think she could make a custom one to match my dressps.... I am looking at rehearsal dinner dresses now because my mama said since my dress is so cheap, I could get a nice rehearsal dinner one haha, WINNINGI lurrrrrrrve thesehttp://www.modcloth.com/Modcloth/Womens/Dresses/-Patio-Party-Dresshttp://www.modcloth.com/Modcloth/Womens/Dresses/-So-Nice-in-White-Dress(ps, I know they're strapless, but I figured I wouldn't be dancing and shit.. and maybe I can try to branch out to more strapless and feel more comfortable in them)I also love this onehttp://www.modcloth.com/Modcloth/Womens/Dresses/-Under-Cloud-Cover-Dress

The first one is my favorite of the three. But do you want to do a lighter/white color? You want your wedding dress to really stand out, and picking a short, white dress for rehearsal dinner too may not bring the attention you want to your wedding dress.I think you'd look stunning in this: http://images.jcrew.com/erez4/erez?src=images/eiec/47/47995/47995_YL5470.tif&tmp=prdDtImor http://images.jcrew.com/erez4/erez?src=images/eiec/42/42858/42858_PK6185.tif&tmp=prdDtImAnd I love the mix of color with the white in the anthro dresses. SOOOO many options with rehearsal dinner![Edited on July 21, 2011 at 10:42 PM. Reason : ]

7/21/2011 10:44:39 PM
^^ i kinda agree with that. i feel like youre gonna be wearing white the whole day after make the night before fun and you!(of course you can go white if you want, it's just a preference )that being said i LOOOOOVE THIShttp://images.jcrew.com/erez4/erez?src=images/eiec/47/47995/47995_YL5470.tif&tmp=prdDtIm[Edited on July 21, 2011 at 10:46 PM. I like the last one with the lace overlay, but that's probably because I have a fear of florals. Always afraid I'm going to look like I'm wearing curtains.
7/21/2011 10:48:14 PM

You can find a strapless dress you want and put lace over the bodice without much effort if you can sew, or know someone that can.

Wow! I love both yellow dresses (the anthropologie and the modcloth), but the price is right on the modcloth dress. Get it! Also, be sure to check out ideeli. You can get a great deal on a Betsey Johnson dress or DKNY dress if you time it right.

18" X 54" Horizontal Vinyl banners for ONLY $1 -- (normally $14.99!) Plus $6.95 shipping & handlinghttp://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3134188Pretty good deal. I wasn't really looking for a banner, but this is what slickdeals does to me I created my own with my wedding colors. Not bad for $7.95 total.

I feel like that's the closest I'm going to be able to get to my dream shoes (which I definitely can't find )I just wish the Nina shoes were a tad paler... more Granny Smith apple, ya know? I wonder if I can have them dyed if I get them in white..[Edited on July 22, 2011 at 12:35 PM. Reason : the yellow ones are also pretty amazing]
7/22/2011 12:33:37 PM
Not sure if you've looked at SRI Shoe Warehouse (North Raleigh) but they have a whole section of dress shoes that can be dyedhttp://www.srishoes.com/

I put up a wedding website!! http://www.mywedding.com/benandjennathurkill/
7/26/2011 10:03:37 AM
Shouldn't it be "our" wedding instead of "my" wedding? Tisk tisk tisk.
7/26/2011 10:25:13 AM
Yea...Well thats kinda the name of the hosting website... I dont dictate that. Besides, in pretty much every situation, the groom really just doesnt care about things like wedding websites. The idea obviously caters to the brides. Let's be honest, virtually everything about a wedding caters to the bride...
7/26/2011 10:45:10 AM
You know, I think other than getting hotel information, I don't think any of our guests bothered to look around our wedding site
7/26/2011 11:05:21 AM
My sister made me a wedding planning blog and I think I have one entry... And I can't remember the site address Ps... As far as the stuff not being about the guy, I have a somewhat sad story. One of Eric's friend's relatives recently got married and apparently he flipped out on his new wife at the reception. He hardly had any say or wasn't asked much and there was literally nothing he liked to eat at the reception... Even the cake. Although that girl is apparently a giant thundercunt, sooooooo that might have contributed.

7/26/2011 2:13:38 PM
haha. Yea, Ive actually tried to get Ben to make decisions about things but he really just doesnt care about the details. He wants the day to end with a marriage and beer. thats it! lol
7/26/2011 2:54:55 PM
He doesn't want it to end with you consumating the marriage?
7/26/2011 2:57:28 PM
I was in a Payless today, and they totally have a line of wedding shoes. 64 different colors. I thought it was kind of interesting.http://www.unforgettablemoments.com/Women_c_28.htmlThat's a link to the women's section - they have little girls too

yall- got my gown the other weekend at the Brides against Breast Cancer gown show. It's awesome and it's coming to Raleigh. http://pepmembers.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=1434If I can give anything back to the priceless help I've gathered from you ladies in this thread- it's this link. The gowns are donated from designers and some are second hand. I got mine about 70% off the original price and it's a handmade custom silk italian gown. It was handmade by the designer. I showed up at 9:30 in san antonio last saturday and was out of there by 11:00. They usually rent out a conference room at a hotel and have about 1000 gowns to look through. One side was like normal gowns and one side was couture. I was fascinated by the process. I had given up hope after my exhausting day shopping for dresses in Raleigh/Smithfield last month. (I judge david's bridal because how poor quality those gowns are for the prices they are asking) (Carolina Bridal world had fantastic service, but the gowns were really worn out and everything had to be shipped in from china- ugh.)Anyway, if you are in the market for a dress, check out the brides against breast cancer event August 19-20. All proceeds go to breast cancer research and you will have an absolutely fantastic time. If you have any more questions, let me know- I'm so thrilled I was told about it.PEACE OUT! Now to figure out what groomsmen are wearing. GRAR! Never ending!Anybody know of some good rental homes on the water at Emerald Isle?
