Once again 10 QUALITY pages worth of stuff posted during a game. Why don't you people go somewhere and watch the game and then post about it later? I truly hope that every single person that has posted during any game with about an average of 10 pages worth per game will be out at the RBC Center, the RBC Center tent party or over at Damon's(which was NUTTTSS wednesday night). Then IF and its a big IF now we will ALL be there for the celebration instead of all this posting online. Get out there people. Monday before the game and after if we win out at the RBC. the hurricanes have played like shit after game 2.... at this point, they haven't shown me any reason to believe they can beat edmonton when it counts. i think the series is over now. right now they don't have any heart and they have one game left to prove otherwise. where is the team we saw come back in game one or win game two?

they've figured cam ward out... shoot high over the shoulder and score. it has worked brilliantly the past couple of games.

i get off work at 8:30 on monday. i'm gonna head straight over to the RBC and hope to watch carolina play like they are capable off playing.

Brind'Amour shouldn't have worn that NC State hat during the press conference.... i just knew that was going to be a bad omen.

it's apparently also illegal to protect oyur face by putting a hand up when someone's crashing into you...

however, it's not illegal to hook people, to elbow people (couldn't be illegal, happened quite a few times in the game without being called), and hit people with the stick when they're down on the ice

You can't stick your hands in someone's face. Especially when they're skating at you.

If someone is down on the ice and covering the puck, you can use your stick to get the puck.

You can't however, use your stick to aim at someone's bare hand, but that was a glorious non-call on par with what you seem to think happened.

no, it wasn't on par with what happened in that game... Carolina got raped by at least 7 men on the ice... if you couldn't see that then you obviously weren't watching the game very closely...

after watching that game, i'm really pissed that they put Cole on the ice, putting him in there against that team with that kind of officiating climate could have caused him a permanent injury with zero repercussion

I dont want to get all conspiracy theory here, but I just can't shake the feeling that having the finals go to 7 games sure is a good thing for the NHL and for NBC. By having a 7 game series you create drama and interest and by possibly good TV. Esp. if game 7 is "forced" to be a close game/OT game. I know the likelihood of this is remote, but damn man, there HAS to be an explanation for the officiating in this series. And again, it is not that the Canes haven't deserved the penalties called on them, its that the Oilers are committing the SAME penalties and they aren't getting called. Just call the games even. that is all I ask.

That being said, the canes did not play well tonight. The refs didn't help, but they didn't necessarily cost us the game.

the canes bounce back from losses well (usually)

the oil is confident, they have been giving 100% for a long time, they should be more tired

we should have more gas in the tank

cole is back

our D looks good, they let by 2 goals, and really the rest were result of the game clearly being over

home ice, crowd and better calls

ward still looking great, again, all goals 2+ were result of the being badly down

Stupid, STUPID penalties. The elbow and holding was bad enough, but TWO too many men minors is fucking infuriating beyond belief.

No hitting, no skating, no good passing, and when good shots didn't materialize, they didn't even take bad ones. Puck-chasing on the kill, not recovering on the kill, I don't even know what to say.

I'll admit that I was worried as shit about Cole playing, but he was by far our best player, the only one with jump and the only one willing to try to bang with the Oilers. Cam Ward's save was something, too. I was absolutely sure it was in, but the way he plunked it down on the ice was fantastic. He's still got his (admittedly unique) swagger.

There is absolutely nothing positive to say about this game from a team perspective.

These were my exact words I was about to type, this is the most accurate description of the officiating. Im not sure the penalty differential would have helped us much tonight given our enthusiasm to play, but it still frustrating.
