was responding to a post that included the referenced items, and once again tried to get back on topic. Why are you avoiding the topic? Dont think State's football Head Football coach position is discussion worthy? Thats messed up

This is the perfect year to play an sec team in a bowl. The conference is so shitty at qb.

^^Not when the fanbase is united that Doeren is a winner and when his family is already deeply entrenched in the local community, assuring us his commitment to the program. The future is indeed bright.I know you're objective 99.99% of the time, but this is one of those 0.01% times when your Kiffin heartbreak of him bailing on you is subconsciously projecting onto a much more stable program. Just looking out.[Edited on November 9, 2015 at 11:56 PM. Reason : thought i was logged in as shoot]

DD game plan:1. Come out strong against superior competition2. Take small lead or tie into halftime3. Fail to move ball in second half4. Rinse/repeat next game

I'm not even mad losing against Flordia State as they're a better team. But I still cant figure out how we always get leads in the first or second quarters, and cant do nothing in the second half? Who takes the blame for this?
11/14/2015 3:59:20 PM
+1 for not scheduling a cupcake like North Texas

crazy to be +4 in turnovers and still get blown out. offense really couldn't do anything...even in the first half, if i remember correctly, we only had 1 long drive (resulted in a TD). everything else was set up by good field position off turnovers.(meant to post this in the game thread, since it's more of a comment about the game and not necessarily the staff but oh well i'll leave it)[Edited on November 14, 2015 at 4:26 PM. Win the last two and the season will gone exactly as expected. Lose either one and this is an extremely disappointing season with the schedule.
11/14/2015 4:32:50 PM
better have a great game plan for Marquise Williamsdude looks like the good version of Cam Newton over the past several games
11/14/2015 4:43:37 PM
isn't he the same guy we hit like 4 times last year and he left the game early? I expect him to want to get revenge this year though, since we so thoroughly beat his ass last year. And we called him out for being a weak punk before we played.

Hope Doeren doesn't jump ship for a better job like UNC when Fedora goes to Texas and Chizik goes to muh Vawls

I keep hearing Memphis if Fuente goes to Missouri (where he has ties, close to his recruiting base) or South Carolina

I can't tell if he needs to get rid of Canada or if Brissett's limitations on deep balls and accuracy are the issue.
11/14/2015 11:05:58 PM
Canada is the problem. We've seen this before. Tough to make a change before what will be Doeren's deciding year in 2016
11/14/2015 11:45:26 PM
I've watched a few media pressers lately - Doeren seems to hunch over more and more, and shake his head more and more. I genuinely don't think he's happy here.
11/15/2015 5:56:04 AM
Maybe he just doesn't like talking to the media, he always seems pissed off during halftime interviews.
11/15/2015 7:04:44 AM
things are falling into place, we may be discussing the replacement sooner rather than later

11/15/2015 12:59:44 PM
Bumping for Saturday. Also, what were the comments Doeren made today that everyone is up in arms about?
11/23/2015 5:43:56 PM
talked about the divisions not being equal since we have to play Clemson and FSU, blah blah blah .basically calling the Cheats schedule shit.
11/23/2015 5:47:39 PM
^except that's not even exactly how he said it. what he said was much tamer. he was asked something about "what do you think of what Fedora's done so far at UNC?" and he responded with "yeah 10 wins is great, that's a goal for our program too. but it's a little different in our division, we're constantly chasing Clemson" or something like thatwhich isn't saying "UNC AINT PLAYED NOBODY"...it's saying "hey the door is wide open for any team to step up and win the Coastal, there is no perennially dominant team. the Atlantic division teams are always looking up to Clemson, making it a more difficult road to winning the division". I got the impression that he was saying we use Clemson and FSU as the measuring stick of our program and where we stand in the ACC, not UNC.
11/23/2015 5:51:44 PM
It was 100% in context of the question asking "do you think you're on the same trajectory (read: behind) UNC in terms of success" and his response was "We're behind where we want to be, but that's behind FSU and Clemson (read: not Carolina).[Edited on November 23, 2015 at 7:44 PM. Reason : "]

Mortgage everything to get Chip Kelly
11/25/2015 2:13:32 AM
I mean its true though, whichever team in the coastal avoids clemson, fsu, and louisville that isnt terrible is gonna win that division every year it seems.
11/25/2015 8:23:25 AM
well...i'd argue that top to bottom the Coastal is better this year. State, UL, FSU, Clemson all got to beat up on Wake, Cuse, BC this year. Not sure there are any "gimmes" in the Coastal this season - even with GT being bad. So if you're an average program (like us or UNC for example) your chances of winning the Coastal are greater than winning the Atlantic simply because there is no perennial power to knock off every season. But it's probably easier to get to 4 conference wins (or a winning overall record, perhaps) in the Atlantic because you get 2 to 3 pretty easy wins over Wake, Cuse, BC. Although I don't think BC is an easy win every single year...it should be this year. I'm not sure there's any team in the Coastal that everybody circles as definite win but there's also not really any team in that division that is a definite loss either. Basically, the Coastal is buncha average to slightly above average teams most years. While the Atlantic is 2 really, really good teams, 2-3 really bad teams, and then maybe 2 pretty average teams most years. [Edited on November 25, 2015 at 9:25 AM. Reason : d]
11/25/2015 9:23:52 AM
would you rather be in the afc east or nfc south
11/25/2015 10:01:34 AM
11/25/2015 10:53:36 AM
^but if you look at it over the last 5 years the Coastal has had all 4 of those teams appear while the Atlantic has had only FSU and Clemson appear in the title game over that period. And it's been since 2008 when FSU or Clemson didn't win the division. Obviously things are cyclical. Clemson has been really damn good over the last few seasons...but they weren't more than a slightly above average team before that. VT has been down recently but they won the Coastal 5 of the first 7 years. however the reverse can also be said. the Coastal only had 2 teams appear in the title game over the first 8 years. The Atlantic had 5 different teams appear in the first 6 title games.[Edited on November 25, 2015 at 2:08 PM. Reason : k]
11/25/2015 2:07:43 PM
You started with a "but", but seemed like you were just explaining my point for me. Coastal used to be dominated by 2 teams but swung to the current up for grabs status. Atlantic started up for grabs but is now 2 teams. Things change.
11/25/2015 3:11:46 PM
vt and gt were never great though. they weren't dominant in the years they won. Everyone else just sucked that much more. FSU and Clemson have been truly dominant and it doesn't have anything to do with who is in the division.
11/25/2015 3:15:19 PM
^^haha yeah, the "but" was unnecessary. i wasn't trying to disprove what you were saying.
11/25/2015 3:44:46 PM
I'll admit ... I was thrown off by the but
