Anybody tried Ballast Point Indra Kunindra yet? The ingredient list is crazy:
11/2/2012 3:05:46 PM
I want to find this one....
11/2/2012 3:11:35 PM
I don't think that hits for another week or two. Considering 4 Calling Birds is still on shelves I don't think that will be a problem.[Edited on November 2, 2012 at 3:28 PM. Reason : .]

manisnt the concept to age the series, then do a 12 days tasting at the end?7 year old pineapple juice beer.
11/2/2012 3:31:17 PM
Well I dunno, some say they'll last til 12 drummers drumming, but I am not sure if all are intended to last that long. From what I know it's just their winter seasonal collection that some have made into a must have vertical and there have only been 2 beers that Bruery have said would last until 2019 and that's Two Turtle Doves and Three French Hens.Had Jester King's Boxer's Revenge, Elysian The Great Pumpkin & Avery Rumpkin tonight, delish![Edited on November 5, 2012 at 12:29 AM. we have some friends coming into town in a couple weekends so I went out and stocked up on some of my favorites plus one or two I've been meaning to try (some of these were 4-6 pks and others were 22oz-750ml bottles):Great Divide Belgian Style YetiGreat Divide Espresso Oak Aged YetiUnibroue La Fin Du MondeBear Republic Red Rocket AleFounders Breakfast StoutSt Bernardus WitAlso grabbed 1 Lump of Coal as a stocking-stuffer for m Father-In-Law.In related news, while grocery shopping picked up a handful of the Trader Joe's 2012 Vintage Ale last week. It's good but not as good as last year's IMO. We still have a couple left over from 2011 that we were aging well; we've only tried one of those aged but it was delicious. The cabinet I keep the beer in is pretty full right now.

Totally forgot about Friday night.Had Dreadnaught, Arctic Panzer Wolf, Lagunitas Brown Sugga', and Bear Republic Racer X [Edited on November 5, 2012 at 11:52 AM. Reason : .]

I bought a six-pack of this on Saturday:I don't particularly care for it, which is rare. It has the nutty maltiness of a Fat Tire (that particular taste actually), but like x10, and a weird bitterness added to it
11/5/2012 2:04:44 PM
interesting. I have really been wanting to try that.EDIT: Whoops, for some reason I thought you posted the Barrel Aged Hibernation Ale. I like that regular Hibernation Ale a lot but haven't had a chance to try the aged yet.[Edited on November 5, 2012 at 2:34 PM. Reason : ]

Looking for some BA Yeti if anyone knows of anyone who might have some for trade.
11/5/2012 3:06:33 PM
BA Yeti will be difficult to find, it's only brewed every 2-years (as is with BA Old Ruffian & BA Hibernation) it was last released last October '11 and a couple were infected so it depends on bottle #. I tasted mine in March and it was phenomenal though, don't want to deter you from hunting it down. Also forgot the beer I had Sat. night, Tommyknocker Maple Nut Brown & Hibernation actually. For being an old ale style, Hibernation is about as classic as it gets, strong caramel and toffee, I bet what you're tasting from Fat Tire is the Crystal 80 malt that would be similarly used in an Old Ale[Edited on November 5, 2012 at 3:18 PM. ^X4I'm a big fan of Racer 5; will have to try the Racer X. Question being where to find it here (I'm not really familiar with any bottle shops here in Richmond yet, though I've made a few interesting finds at Kroger of all places.)Also tried my first sour the other night--had Duchesse De Bourgogne (Flemish sour red ale) on draft the other night at a local restaurant. It was pretty fantastic. What are some other good sours of a similar nature?
11/5/2012 3:16:30 PM
^Rodenbach Grand Cru(~$15) is right in line and pretty easy to find. Jolly Pumpkin La Roja(~$10) is another one that is similar, readily available, and at a good price point.
11/5/2012 3:18:46 PM
^^I haven't seen Racer X in over a year, just hit Denver shelves this last week, not sure about NC.Other sours I'd recommend of similar nature:Cuvee Des Jacobins RougeDe Proefbrouwerij Flanders FredBruery Oude Tart - if you can get past price tagOther brown ales that aren't quite as sour, but have a bit of sweetness to them from Flanders EastPetrus Aged Pale (or Oud Bruin)Goudenband - Brouwerij LiefmansDeschutes The DissidentMonk's Café Flemish Sour Ale[Edited on November 5, 2012 at 3:29 PM. Drinking my first Great Lakes Christmas Ale...this stuff is amazing, it's like drinking a snickerdoodle cookie
11/6/2012 8:39:31 PM
This is my favorite Christmas Ale. I'm anxiously awaiting picking up a few.
11/6/2012 9:13:39 PM
mmm St. Bernardus
11/6/2012 9:33:35 PM
hoping i can pick up a lot of these that have been posted. i hate these great Christmas and Holiday ales are already out. I've been trying to curb my beer spending but part of feels like i'm going to miss out if I don't get them now.
11/6/2012 9:36:27 PM
^ Same haha
11/6/2012 9:39:11 PM
I'm not sure I understand all the GL Christmas Ale hype; in fact, I'm sick of all the beer hype, especially when jerk-offs buy 4-5 packs of a beer (like Backwoods) and don't let anyone else enjoy one. I might sound butt-hurt, but its gotten ridiculously absurd over the years. Not just whales, but people are already hoarding GL Christmas and its just a fucking seasonal. I'm just going to get out of the beer game because in the end, a $2 or $20 bottle just ends up as yellow piss in my toilet.

I went to natty greenes (raleigh) last night for $2 pints--the most one should ever pay for their beer. They had a new black cascadian ale--BIPA technically. Drank four of them.Pretty good 5/10
11/7/2012 9:16:11 AM
11/7/2012 9:20:11 AM
had a couple of theseand one of these (750ml)last night, watching the election...i was feeling GOOD

I love trois pistoles.
11/7/2012 9:22:57 AM
11/7/2012 11:40:59 AM
International stout day is tommorow--cheers to all. Bottle revolution in raleigh will have GD oak aged yeti, Epic big bad baptist, oak aged allagash black and sculpin ipa to cleanse the palleti drank via dare; the twisted pine-- ghost face killah--its definitely hot, kinda tastey. 4/10I bought a Kunindra curry stout from ballastpoint and am very excited to try
11/7/2012 3:28:08 PM
anyone had the Fullsteam Chombers yet? Picked one up along with a Mother Earth Peach Windowpane series. going to try and track down a Pistols at Dawn by LoneRider but i'm sure the NC beer hoarders have already swooped in.
11/8/2012 4:42:33 PM
Good Bottle posted pictures and said they have 24 ^
11/8/2012 4:43:15 PM
yeah, that was what prompted me to post. i may try to get that way tomorrow, we'll see. GBC is like #4 on my shop list and I hate being one of those case chasers that walks in for one beer. Sure i've done it, but I think i'm going to hold out and hope Salud gets some in.
11/8/2012 4:48:22 PM
holy crap $21 price tag. what is this, The Bruery?
11/8/2012 6:54:42 PM
Picked up some tasties last night:Saison DupontBruery - Autumn MapleAvery Brewing Company - SalvationAlesmith - Wee Heavy Scotch AleDeschutes - Black Butte 24th Birthday Reserve (yummm)Bayhawk Ales - Chocolate Porter (low expectations for this one compared to the rest)
11/8/2012 7:15:39 PM
$21 is fucking steep...Bottle Revolution was charging $14 and they are usually on the pricier side.
11/8/2012 7:16:59 PM
11/8/2012 7:39:18 PM
I'm in Los Angeles, so we get the full range of Alesmith stuff here.
11/8/2012 8:04:04 PM
I actually have an Alesmith Wee Heavy in the fridge, was going to do a wee heavy comparison with Dry Dock's Wee Heavy that just came out this week and Founders Dirty Bastard and CCB Big Sound Scotch Ale.
11/8/2012 9:22:14 PM
Just finished up a small growler of Bitches Brew. Have a bottle of this sitting in the fridge for this weekend:I love stout/porter weather![Edited on November 8, 2012 at 9:37 PM. Reason : .]

Got to love International Stout Day.Just got back from Saucer where I had a Oak Aged Yeti (wish I had known Bottle Revolution had that on tap) and a Founders Breakfast Stout. Both scored in the top 50 on ratebeer.com!Considering cracking open a Imperial Oatmeal Cookie Stout homebrew that I've been saving for 2 years.
11/8/2012 10:37:30 PM

11/9/2012 1:04:56 AM

11/9/2012 9:16:53 AM
Bottle revolution had multiple lone rider "pistols" as of last night. I drank 3 big bads, keg was gone in about 3 hours. I'm giving it 8/10, my my that shit is dank.
11/9/2012 9:21:56 AM
man, i was disappointed in the most recent batch of Big Bad Baptist. I thought the coffee came off way too harsh. Like an old pot of restaurant coffee
11/9/2012 9:28:23 AM
The coffee is strong with this one
11/9/2012 9:35:20 AM
Ha, I thought the same exact thing, could hardly taste the whiskey, vanilla or cocoa nibs. Coffee was too dominant.Small little haul yesterday in a trade:

Finally got my two bottles of St Bernardus Christmas Ale today thanks to my father-in-law. Looking forward to having one next month
11/10/2012 7:27:02 PM
