We talked about having a friend ordained over the internet and having him officiate but the reality of the matter is our family would flip shit over that... And I think this is one of those situations where, yes it is our wedding, but we need to consider what our families find respectful.
7/14/2011 2:05:10 PM
Get married at the courthouse, then have whoever you want officiate at the wedding.Last wedding I went to the couple did this, they had a friend do the ceremony so tons cheaper.Introduce the friend as a minister (because they are ordained online) and the family won't know. I LOL'd hard at the Irish themed weddingMaybe I should have a biker themed wedding I think we'll have about 30 bikers there... they can smash beer bottles on everyone's head then go on a poker run for a charity set up in the victims' names
7/17/2011 3:17:17 PM

7/19/2011 5:03:43 PM
I was going to get an NCSU corset if we did a toss, but he decided he didn't want to do one.
7/19/2011 5:10:10 PM
^^That's Katie's leg. I loved it so much I did one with a wolf head. It's really up to you. And her wedding pictures were so super gorgeous, even one tiny corny detail didn't make a dent in how gorgeous she looked. They featured her wedding in a magazine..Carolina Bride maybe?JT3Bucky did a PHENOMENAL job DJing. He was professional and played great music and was affordable. We loved him. I have more to say about him but we are on the honeymoon soooo...I'll write more later!
7/19/2011 6:32:24 PM
^^^ My wife had a UNC one... Thought it was carolina, I thought the idea was kinda neat, since she knew all my single buddies were state grads (as she was a unc grad)
7/19/2011 8:54:45 PM
I plan on having a cool NCSU garterso on FB, Wedding Paper Divas have a page and they always put up wedding questions where you can comment and whatnot... I was the first to respond to: "What registry gift are you most excited to receive?"I wrote: "A stand mixer so I can make cupcakes and drink wine simultaneously"Wedding Paper Divas "liked" it But for real, I am excited about it. I really wish we could only register for the stand mixer and a Dyson Animal Ball. I don't really want anything else. :\
7/20/2011 10:35:08 AM
haha those are the two things that we received for the wedding that I was like hell yeah! Well that and all the cash gifts. We only managed to get one wtf gift which I think it pretty damn good!I want to get the ice cream attachment for the stand mixer. My friend has it and she loooooooooooooves it. Then I could make all the weird sorbets I want like peach ginger and mango chili.
7/20/2011 10:40:33 AM
My fiance is getting an ncsu garter . 10 more days... hoping the weather cools down again.

7/20/2011 10:52:58 PM
nope, set on tea length I have a feeling I'll have to try on a few long dresses to shut up certain family members though. and thanks hopefully it'll go well.... ps that dress earlier is gorgeous, and pss Joie that was an awesome blog post!
7/20/2011 10:59:49 PM
no sad face! even if you are set on tea length, go ahead and make it fun and try on whatever, time permissible. Not every day you are catered to when trying on dresses! Good luck lady!

7/21/2011 3:55:48 PM
Congrats! Does it require a ton of tailoring? How much does basic tailoring cost for a wedding dress? Or does it vary widely per dress?
