That could have been one we gave him during the visit.I think Hunter would commit to us if there weren't any big schools after him. He and his mother love State, but he probably doesn't want to commit until after he gets to go on official visits to LSU, tOSU, UF. He also wants to take an OV to Wake Forest. I understand why he'd want to wait to check out those schools. Two of them have won the past 3 national titles and the other played for two of them. You have to check those schools out if they come calling.

Crisp and Singer attending Athens High. Anyone know if they're on the block schedule?http://www.highschoolot.com/content/story/5771991/
8/11/2009 5:09:55 PM
hopefully, it would be great to get those boys in January!
8/11/2009 5:15:07 PM
All high schools in Wake County, except Enloe, are on block scheduling.
8/11/2009 5:23:42 PM
Supposedly, Crisp won't be able to graduate early anyway (will be one credit short)
8/11/2009 6:02:39 PM
I thought that was the whole reason he was transferring. That and finding somewhere they'd let Singer play.

Walter, one credit sounds kind of silly, seems like they can lump on a PE, or a sports med, or some other stupid elective to take care of that.

Throwing or non-throwing shoulder?
8/13/2009 8:38:25 PM
^ didn't say.Back in the spring though TOB said that Proctor was basically a taller RW with a stronger arm.
8/13/2009 9:22:50 PM
^EP definitely has size going for him, but it's doubtful he has Wilson's decision-making ability.Russell's play last year was flat-out amazing, especially for a freshman. You can't expect that from every 3* dual-threat QB you recruit. That being said, I've never seen the guy play. Maybe he does.

pumped about lemon
8/13/2009 10:42:15 PM
Here's a great article on Michael Lemon. That dude has gone through a lot of tough shit.http://nfl-football--jerseys.blogspot.com/2008/12/following-his-fall-at-georgia-michael.html

^^great article on michael lemon. our d-line should be pretty nasty.
8/13/2009 11:15:26 PM
^^Tob also uses his media-quotes as a way to motivate the team and players. I think he was referring more to EP's physical attributes rather than his fb iq. None-the-less, that is encouraging.I know the rules have been posted multiple times, but will he enter '10 as a rs soph? or will he get a medical hardship and still have 4 years?
8/13/2009 11:34:27 PM
thanks for the article on Lemon, God reading that ..I cant ever be down about small crap again..the dude has been through some wicked crap. But I have this feeling he is going to be a BEAST!! So how far do u think he will move up the depth chart prior to the SC game?? I wish him all the success in the world he could 'def' use it!!

^oh yeah. i was thinking he'd already redshirted. thanks.
8/14/2009 8:25:04 AM
anyone have video on Lemon?
8/14/2009 1:01:45 PM
The Proctor injury makes me kind of nervous, I know he was going to redshirt anyways, but he could have been available if both Wilson and Glennon got injured. Now if both of them get injured we have a walk on who's going to have to play.
8/14/2009 1:26:09 PM
^While we are NC State and that would be NC State shit, the odds of them both going down in one season are pretty slim. Maybe the gods will give us a break this year and only one of them go down. Or maybe we've used up most of our major injuries for the next year or two.
8/14/2009 6:02:19 PM
I think we have a lot more pressing issues than the 3rd string QB! That is just ridiculous.
8/14/2009 6:04:24 PM
^ Highly unlikely? Yes. Ridiculous? Hell no. This is NC State. That kinda shit is how we roll
8/14/2009 9:50:27 PM
Nah NC State shit would be RW running into Glennon in the lunch line and both of them having to have their arms from the injuries sustained.
8/15/2009 2:07:05 PM
So O'brien still gonna let Pete Singer enroll?
8/15/2009 6:29:35 PM
generally that doesn't happen until they graduate high school.

Crisp named as top prospect in NChttp://www.fayobserver.com/Articles/2009/08/16/924979Raleigh's Crisp is North Carolina's top football prospectBasketball changed Robert Crisp's life, but football is determining his future.Crisp was devoted to basketball during his middle school days in Burlington and spent his summers playing for a prominent AAU squad. He played football, but only for fun.But when Crisp found himself academically ineligible as an eighth-grader, he moved to Chapel Hill to live with his AAU coach, Pete Singer Sr."He (Singer) knew I had potential,'' Crisp said. "We talked to my mom about it, and decided it was a good move for my future."But at the time we all kind of thought that (future) was going to be in basketball.''Crisp would eventually realize the football field was where he could best utilize his 6-foot-8, 300-plus-pound frame. By the summer after his sophomore year, major colleges were already extending scholarship offers.More than 30 programs would make offers to Crisp before he eventually settled on N.C. State in early April. He'll enter his senior season at Athens Drive High in Raleigh, where he recently transferred, as one of the nation's top-rated prospects on the offensive line. The immense interest in Crisp, his lofty national ranking and his potential for stardom at the college level are some of the reasons he heads The Fayetteville Observer's Preseason Top 50 list of North Carolina's best college prospects for 2009.Crisp's selection marks only the second time in the 15-year history of The Fayetteville Observer's Top 50 rankings that an offensive lineman has been chosen for the top spot. He follows in the footsteps of Jack Britt's Xavier Nixon, who was No. 1 last year. Nixon is now a freshman at the University of Florida.Crisp made the Chapel Hill varsity football squad as a freshman, but played sparingly. He earned a starting job at left offensive tackle the following year, but was still hooked on basketball and continued playing AAU ball that summer. But in May 2008, Crisp attended a Nike football camp at the University of North Carolina. There, he earned most valuable offensive lineman honors over many ranked upperclassmen, including Nixon. The performance created an immediate stir in recruiting circles."That's when I really started getting serious about football,'' Crisp said. "I actually started liking the sport more because I was better at it.''N.C. State scored a major recruiting coup in April when it was able to land an oral commitment from Crisp over the likes of Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Michigan. The reputation of N.C. State's coaching staff for putting offensive linemen in the NFL was a major drawing card for Crisp."My main goal for playing college football is to get to the next level,'' Crisp said. "Coach (Tom) O'Brien used to be an offensive line coach, and (offensive line) Coach (Don) Horton is one of the best in the country. So that was definitely a factor. I believe they can help me achieve my goals.''

Terry Talbott has committed to Michigan and Rob Havenstein has decided to delay his announcement until after his senior season:Ohio defensive lineman Terry Talbott picks WolverinesMichigan has gained a commitment from 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive lineman Terry Talbott of Wayne (Huber Heights, Ohio).Talbott also considered offers from Wisconsin and UCLA. He was also sought by Arkansas, UConn, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan State, North Carolina State and Cincinnati. His brother, Terrence, has also pledged to the Wolverines.Michigan now has 18 commitments. Decision delayed for lineman Rob HavensteinThree-star offensive tackle Rob Havenstein (Frederick, Md./Linganore) once planed to make his announcement before the start of his senior season. However, now its looking more like a post-season commitment, ESPN affiliate Web site InsideMDSports.com reports. He's already scheduled two official visits planned to Maryland and Wisconsin.Virginia, West Virginia and possibly Wake Forest could also receive official visits from the massive blocker.Penn State, Duke, N.C. State, Kansas State, Rutgers and Stanford amongst others have also offered.

nice, football recruits are gaining stars rather than losing them! <3 TOB.
8/17/2009 11:21:57 AM
That's what a well-respected coach will do for you
8/17/2009 11:25:32 AM
Rivals seems to like some of our lesser known guys(3-stars for several) and Scout is still showing most of them as 2-star guys. Hope they get looked at again and reevaluated. I don't really care how many stars they have because I trust our coaches, but I think having highly rated recruiting classes just looks better for the program.
8/17/2009 12:09:21 PM
James White had some good things to say about us. He doesn't have a favorite but we are in the lead group of schools.
8/17/2009 12:26:53 PM
8/17/2009 6:42:03 PM
Oh I agree it makes us look good, but do you think more players/people across the US will read an article from the Fayetteville Observer or see that we have a top 25 recruiting class on Scout/Rivals? I think both make us look good, but I think success builds on success, so if we can start landing top 25 recruiting classes consistently and have great coaches, then watch out.I'm all for finding the diamonds in the rough, but it would also be nice to land some of the big fish out there to go along with those diamonds.
8/17/2009 7:36:30 PM

As long as we are winning I don't care if they are diamonds or cubic zirconias.

Rijo Walker committed to Virginia:Cavs collect commitment from Bethel defensive back Rijo WalkerA 5-foot-10, 170-pound cornerback prospect, Rijo Walker of Bethel (Hampton, Va.) has agreed to sign a Class of 2010 scholarship offer from Virginia. He was also sought by Wake Forest, West Virginia, North Carolina State, Northwestern, South Carolina and East Carolina. The Cavs have 10 pledges.
8/20/2009 12:16:08 AM
We never offered Walker because at the time we weren't actively going to take a CB. Now that Ellis and Simmons have left it has freed up at least one scholarship maybe two for a DB.AJ Marshall was offered as a CB recently, although he's already committed to Wake.
