I heard some are canceling because of the low wind chills. I see on weather channel they are saying a chance for more snow next week!! Someone post more of those maps showing lots of snow to get my hopes up, only to be crushed when we get flurries.

My old drafty ass house does not hang in these temps. Gas heat gets the job done, but the second it turns off the cold starts creeping back in.

Mine were nice and toasty at the bus stop at 6:45 this morning.

But I did wear thermal underwear today.

I mean we have to assume schools will be closed tomorrow as well. Anything that didnt melt yesterday isnt gonna melt today and its only going to be even colder tomorrow morning.

Was North Raleigh really hit that much worse than South Raleigh? Or do they just have more hills and trees?

Moving on to the important stuff: Are we going to get snow on Monday, and then again next Saturday?

Wunderground says rain Sunday, trace snow Monday (ground will be warm, probably no accumulation) and 1-3" on Tuesday. Also, another 1-3" possible next Saturday.

Thanks, Obama

If it was gonna melt it would have done it yesterday we had plenty of sun and it was warmer. If it didnt melt yesterday it was in the shade and therefore isnt gonna melt today either.

^^Probably not. Look at the videos from northern Wake county; it's not just a little black ice, some roads are still white and completely covered.

With the potential for more winter weather, they have to start being concerned with the make up days. No reason to cancel school for tomorrow, unless the reason is that it's too cold for buses to start. Then you just need a delay.

I know that one of our local schools is completely shady and a spread out campus, so in that particular case the campus is still completely icy

Yeah I'd imagine that being able to get to school isn't the only prerequisite for schools to reopen tomorrow. There's still a lot of ice out on sidewalks, and I'm sure student safety is a concern as well.

Can't have parents suing the school system because their precious snowflakes slipped and fell on some ice.

Wake is closed.

But I figured delay for cold. Back when I lived in a less affluent part of town, I'd see a lot of kids at the bus stop with no coat...probably cause they left their only one for the year at school by the end of November...but still...can't have 7-year-olds kids gettin' frostbit cause their parents can't wait with them in their toasty SUVs.

Yeah, it's surely for the cold. So a delay would make sense, but outright canceling is dumb

Kids leave coats places all the time. It gets sent to Lost and Found, never to be seen again.

Also, looks like snow is off the menu for Saturday.
