Khamrone Kolb named his top 5.... unfortunately we did make the cut. Khamrone Kolb cuts list in halfOffensive tackle Khamrone Kolb has chopped his list of 10 scholarship offers down to five, according to ESPN affiliate Web site NittanyNetwork.com."I've narrowed it down to Penn State, Virginia, North Carolina, Connecticut and Virginia Tech. I'm going to try to narrow it down to at least three by the end of the summer. Then I will make official visits to those three, probably during the football season. Penn State and Virginia will be in my final three."
7/27/2009 9:56:07 AM
Not a big deal. We have 4 tackles on the board ahead of him.
7/27/2009 7:14:26 PM
IIRC, I was looking at his myspace last spring and the wallpaper was a carolina logo.

David Yankey committed to Stanford today:Cardinal reaches into Peach State again for touted lineman David YankeyOffensive tackle David Yankey (Roswell, Ga./Centennial) committed to Stanford Monday, ESPN's JC Shurburtt reports. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound blocker also considered scholarship offers from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Duke. Other programs such as North Carolina, Tennessee and Wake Forest also offered."When I went there, I realized they were the best fit for me and everything there is right for me," he said.Yankey is Stanford's fourth Class of 2010 commitment from Georgia. Gainesville, Ga. teammates, Under Armour All-American Tai-ler Jones and ESPNU 150 Watch Lister Daunte Carr, along with Henry Anderson (College Park, Ga. /Woodward) are also set to head west and play for the Cardinal.

^with a name like that, it had to be rough growing up in the dirty south.
7/27/2009 9:58:42 PM
Stanford is cleaning up this year.
7/27/2009 10:53:08 PM
We really need Amerson to commit soon. I'd also like to pick up Dontae Johnson who could play either WR or DB for us. We're in his top 4 right now along with Maryland, UCONN, and UVA. Reggie Wilkins would also be a nice pickup b/c like Johnson he can play both WR or DB. That's also a reason why I like Synjyn Days. He can play two positions too, QB and DB.

http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=2&c=882277Bowens Still Sidelined until at least mid-October with a knee injury NC State where red means youre cursed
7/28/2009 12:32:27 PM
Not too worried about not having Bowens. I don't even think about him until someone mentions that he won't be back. With Spencer and (especially) Williams stepping up last year -- and with TJ and Jay Smith still in the rotation -- WR is the least of my concerns.I do hate it for Bowens though. He's a tough guy that just got a really bad break

Looks like I missed this one. Kolton Houston committed to Georgia back in April. Sorry about that:Buford lineman is 3rd pledge for GeorgiaKolton Houston, a 6-foot-5, 270-pound lineman from Buford, Ga., has accepted a Class of 2010 scholarship offer from the Bulldogs.Among his 14 other offers were Florida State, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Clemson, Auburn, Maryland, Michigan State and Stanford.ESPN's Bill Conley said of the news, "Georgia pulled in a big in-state recruit in Kolton Houston. Houston is a highly recruited lineman that decided to follow his father?s footsteps and play for the Bulldogs. Coach Mark Richt and staff needed to land their third verbal for 2010 and Houston was just what the Easter Bunny ordered.""Houston is a scrappy and blue collar two way lineman. He comes off the football fast, low and hard both on offense and defense. He really does a great job of using his powerful hands as a weapon. Offensively he drives them into the pads of the defensive lineman to knock the blocker back off the ball and on defense to separate and disengage in order to get to the football. It will be interesting to see which side of the football he will play for the Bulldogs."
7/28/2009 5:11:18 PM
Odd lineman from GA to pick to talk about right now. Seems like Gensen Scott is the recent story.

Sounds like Amerson is headed to Notre Dame friday afternoon, and back to visit State on Sunday for the scrimmage and a commitment!!!
8/4/2009 9:59:18 AM
^ Awesome!!!, if true. Emphasis on the if true part.
8/4/2009 10:13:45 AM
The commitment part is more hopefull than factual. He is headed to ND friday, and NCSU on saturday, where he will hopefully commit!
8/4/2009 10:35:18 AM
He's already almost committed a couple times IIRC. He actually blew off a trip to ND to visit NC State one weekend.
8/4/2009 6:27:29 PM
He did cancel a previously scheduled trip to South Bend but it was not to come to State. He was not on campus the same weekend his ND visit was scheduled.[Edited on August 4, 2009 at 7:43 PM. Reason : df]

8/6/2009 1:48:33 PM
it won't matter if he can't qualify academically
8/6/2009 2:24:53 PM
It’d still be nice to get a commitment from him and hope for the best. Besides, we’ve had pretty good success putting kids in Hargrave for a year. Look at Andre Brown. Hell, look at Willie Young
8/6/2009 3:34:56 PM
just saw a video with Gabe King. He was asked for a top 3-5 and the Holes didn't appear. So unless he pulls a fast one he won't be playing anywhere near the state
