JENS LEHMANN IS STARTING FOR ARSENAL
4/10/2011 8:23:13 AM
Almunia is hurt or sick (not sure), so Lehman is getting the start in 10 minutes. Quite a crazy GK situation Arsenal have had this season. Just hope Lehman holds up, if something happens to him, not sure what Arsenal will do as they have no other healthy GKs.[Edited on April 10, 2011 at 8:27 AM. I'm no United fan, but Balotelli is a perfect example of a signing SAF would never make.
4/11/2011 4:24:54 PM
SAF would fucking murder him for any ONE of the shit things he's donecould you imagine a player that plays for SAF throwing darts at an academy player and somehow managing to ever play anywhere else again?
4/11/2011 4:26:35 PM
LOL, Lucas.
4/11/2011 4:33:53 PM
Yaya with a straight rocket, Pepe had it covered the whole time though. Finally pulling out Mario B...why did that take so long?
4/11/2011 4:44:55 PM
I know this is an EPL thread, but do any of you guys follow MLS? I have kind of been getting interested in soccer as of late, and I'd like to go to a couple matches (is that what they are even called?) Obviously, England is not happening, but I live near NYC and Boston. I was just wondering if any of you guys had any positive or negative experiences.
4/11/2011 7:24:11 PM
Former NC State soccer player Tyler Lassiter is a rookie for Red Bull NYThere is also a former State player on Colorado and KC[Edited on April 11, 2011 at 7:55 PM. Reason : .]

I kinda keep up with MLS, don't really have a favorite club though. Mainly follow USMNT players who are domestic but not really the league itself. Anymore the games draw decent sized crowds and the competition is getting better. I'd go see the Red Bulls play just to check out Henry in his old age and Agudelo. My main beef with MLS is the structure. It's run like any other American sport and not the way successful leagues are run in Europe. I don't think the US will ever be a serious contender in world soccer until they structure the league better. But as for just attending a game, I say go for it. I know I would if I lived close enough.
4/11/2011 9:46:26 PM
I went to Red Bull Arena in July. Compared to other professional sports, it's a pretty generic event. But as far as a "soccer in America" experience, it's pretty damn cool to see how far we've come.Don't go to NE games. 5,000 fans in a football stadium? No thanks. Seen and heard good things about Philly's stadium, but I'm not sure the area is somewhere a visitor wants to be going. DC plays in shitty RFK but it always has one of the better atmospheres in the league. I'd definitely say RBA is your best bet.[Edited on April 11, 2011 at 10:12 PM. Reason : moar opinionssss]
4/11/2011 10:02:38 PM
Thanks a lot. I am actually kind of excited to get into a "new" sport.
4/12/2011 12:15:17 AM
I, too, as well, also, have been to Red Bull Arena. It was much how ^^ explained.Sit in the supporter section if you want any semblance of what the experience should be like.[Edited on April 12, 2011 at 1:55 AM. Reason : .]
4/12/2011 1:54:56 AM
Just one more question. Is it a "normal" sporting environment, or is it something "over the top" that I have never seen? The only reason I ask, is I have a baby girl, and I don't want to take her anywhere that is "unsafe." I have been to every other professional sports' games with the exception of the NBA, and they all seem fine. So in other words, I wouldn't mind at all taking her to see a baseball or hockey game - I just wanted to make sure the fans in MLS aren't like the group in Eurotrip.
