Now just waiting for the shit coming out of fayetteville to head my way...channel 11 is claiming it's as "impressive" as what just went through raleigh...
4/16/2011 4:17:39 PM

4/16/2011 4:18:35 PM
Yeah the fayettenam storm is making me nervous
4/16/2011 4:19:28 PM

We holed up in the basement. I'm sure we'll be doing the bucket brigade for when it starts to flood in a few minutes.
4/16/2011 4:21:55 PM
there's on headed right onto my parents house in dunn.we called them to warn them and my dad was clueless about the tornado.....we told him it was headed DIRECTLY to their house and dad said there was a really low hanging cloud that mom went outside to look at it and thenthe phone went out.
4/16/2011 4:22:19 PM
anyone heard anything about damage around south saunders street?
4/16/2011 4:22:39 PM
http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=RAX&product=N0R&overlay=11101111&loop=yesyou can actually see the comma hook on the radar echo out of the storm that just went through raleigh....thats pretty nuts to see on doppler....wish i had high res storm relative velocities...
4/16/2011 4:23:15 PM
4/16/2011 4:23:18 PM
HELLA sirens outside my house right now. Sounds like they're going down Reedy Creek Road to Maynard Road
4/16/2011 4:23:31 PM
I've got random yellow fiberglass insulation out in my yard too
4/16/2011 4:24:26 PM
My brother lives off Carolina Pines and has a lot of branches and limbs down, but his house and car fared fine. But even a half mile can make a lot of difference...
4/16/2011 4:25:33 PM
theyve showed the hook echo and red/green wind velocity maps about 100 times in the last hour on wral
4/16/2011 4:25:44 PM
We got lucky in that it passed about a mile south of my relative's house.
4/16/2011 4:26:25 PM
We saw some really low clouds but really wasn't that bad off of Lineberry here. Apparently if buildings on S. Saunders were hit, we NARROWLY missed it.
4/16/2011 4:26:39 PM
pics??
4/16/2011 4:26:52 PM
Dude in Apex said he saw a big piece of metal and yellow insulation in his yard

4/16/2011 4:30:13 PM

4/16/2011 4:31:33 PM
Apparently the sirens I heard are the trucks from Cary heading downtown to help.
4/16/2011 4:31:36 PM
I just talked to my tenants. They said they're okay downtown but it got bad for a while. Power is back on at Avent Ferry/Tryon.
4/16/2011 4:32:55 PM
Serves you right to be at a Starbucks in Cary at 4pm on a Saturday. Let her rot.[Edited on April 16, 2011 at 4:34 PM. Reason : Lee got it good I guess]

4/16/2011 4:34:00 PM
4/16/2011 4:34:12 PM

4/16/2011 4:34:20 PM
That shop is 1.5 miles from where our house is off of Lake Wheeler. Looked pretty nasty.
4/16/2011 4:34:43 PM
My Parents & I were on the way back from a day trip to GSO and got stuck *under* Harrison Ave Bridge as part of the Tornado passed by overhead. We got pelted with hail. I am back home now and (of course) the radios are going crazy with activity. I have 5-6 radios going nonstop with debris & damage reports. RWECC is doing hell of a job trying to deal with this insane situation.Let me see if I can get any CAD Logs from the last couple of hours.[Edited on April 16, 2011 at 4:35 PM. Reason : dammit]
