Really, UCLA is going to a bowl???also

Love reading through the polls. Shows how corrupt the system is. Harris Poll has a guy who voted Okie State 6th and Houston 5th. A lot of voters have Va Tech ahead of clemson (actually, 51 out of 115 do in Harris; 34 of 59 in Coaches), and not by insignificant amounts. A former Stanford player voted Bama 4th behind Stanford. This whole thing blows.[Edited on December 5, 2011 at 11:17 AM. Reason : .]

Had iowa st. won agains k state last week, it might have been osu instead of alabama since the final bcs was so close.but we'll never know since nobody knows what goes into the computer formulas....what a joke.

just putting it out there, i am totally in love w/ LSU right now. i've never enjoyed watching a team so much, nc state included (is watching state fun for any of us? i'm just balled up w/ stress the entire time every game).

wow, the Honey Badger is a Heisman finalist. This is the classic example of best player vs. most valuable.I dont think hes the best player in the country at all, not even close. But I dont think anyone has been more valuable to his team this year. But, the Heisman goes to the best (we will call this the "Manning") and not to the most valuable (known as the "Woodson").So I think its Richardson or Luck. Probably Richardson[Edited on December 5, 2011 at 7:50 PM. Reason : d]

man i disagree; i think tyrann mathieu is the best player in the country.i'm not the closest follower of football in the world, but i'd say that i watch more college football than most, and i have never seen a guy just dominate the football field the way that he does.
12/5/2011 7:51:50 PM
^ sameI'm inclined to say he and RGIII are the best players in the country.
12/5/2011 7:54:34 PM
he gets burned in a lot of one on one coverage. He does a lot of risky, all or nothing, type shit. Da'Rick tore him up for example when he was on him, then they moved Claiborne over and pretty much shut him down. He is great when a corner has a guy locked down, and he swoops into to do some risky jump for the ball and gets it and takes it all the way back for a pick 6, but lined up one on one vs great receivers he got burned a lot. He would be a GREAT safetyI think Richardson is the best overall player. Luck is right there with him. HB is really really good, definitely close in talent, just think he needs to learn more to be a badass ALL the time. Remember, hes only a sophomore. [Edited on December 5, 2011 at 8:02 PM. Supposedly Larry Fedora to UNC. Real solid hire for a team about to get the hammer.
12/5/2011 8:02:22 PM
There is something very "Polamalu" about him. High risk and high reward but the ability to change a game on a single play. Those Ed Reed, Polamalu types are so rare in today's game.
12/5/2011 8:03:17 PM
^^ damn, very nice for him, love Fedora (no homo)^ I agree that he could be like them, and Eric Berry , if he continues to progress. All three are safeties, and he just seems to play like a safety to me.
12/5/2011 8:06:23 PM
12/5/2011 8:26:21 PM
^^ that is true, he would be better as a safety. if he's going to make a move, this is the move to make IMO. not to offense.that said, les miles is a golden god and if i were mathieu i would trust whatever he told me to do.

I wish RG3 would get it. i like his playing more than luck's

Hey, in the Army-Navy game most people have a fairly loose reason to support one side or the other. I cheer for the Navy because my dad worked at a NADEP. Nevermind that it was actually on a Marine base, technically he worked for the Navy so I cheer for them.
12/5/2011 9:25:10 PM
I root for the only service academy that matters, the motherfucking Air Force! Since the Air Force grew from the Army, I pull for Army over Navy. I pull for the Air Force because of my father, and also being in the Civil Air Patrol, the Air Force Auxillary, as a teenager.
12/5/2011 9:35:58 PM
^I was watching the preview of "A Game of Honor" on CBS on Saturday and they said Navy got screwed on a bad call against Air Force this year and lost on a FG in OT. Then the captain for Navy was suspended for a game for calling out the ref. I guess you have the bragging rights this year then since Air Force won the Comander in Chief Trophy.[Edited on December 5, 2011 at 9:58 PM. Reason : .]

RGIII is gonna win and it will be by a significant margin. Also, if you're going to invite someone to NYC who missed games, it should be LMJ. Bringing someone to NYC who got busted for illegal drugs is stupid. Peter Warrick is pissed.

All you need to know about Air Force is that Troy Calhoun voted Okie State 6thThe Air Force is so useless the student body is going through a RIF...they'll be 20% smaller than Army and Navy.

crazy college football fact of the day: Tyrann Mathieu aka Honey Badger, who is being invited to NY as a Heisman top 5 finalist, is only a true sophomore

UNBIASEDI also find it amusing how so many pundits out there, like Pat Forde, have written columns saying, basically, "deal with it" as far as the national title game rematch is concerned...saying that "it's the system and the best we can do under it" blah blah blahThen, in the same fucking breathhave the balls to get outraged over the Sugar Bowl picking Virginia Techun-fucking-believablelook, VT was a bullshit call, but if you're going to defend the national title matchup, you have to defend every single other bowl game out there...including telling Western Kentucky to "deal with" not getting to a bowl the first time in school history they've been eligible. it's all part of the same bullshit system. you're either in or out. don't ride the fucking fence and shit on one bowl's selection while supporting another.[Edited on December 6, 2011 at 9:31 AM.
