Apparently suppose to snow some again tomorrow? Anything significant?
2/17/2015 8:39:49 AM
I heard snow tomorrow as well, but nothing like the storm that went through yesterday/last night."The plant will be operating under normal conditions"Have fun with that, plant. Woo, working from home!

Sweet, UNC is now closed as well as NCSU. W00T![Edited on February 17, 2015 at 8:59 AM. Reason : ]

yeah i find it hilarious my plant is opening at 10 am, all to simply show face to upper management for bad end of month production numbers.
2/17/2015 8:58:19 AM
I think tomorrow is supposed to be less than 1/2" of snow (if that). I'm just wondering how much melting we see today in the couple hours we actually get above freezing. This one could stretch out a few days if the roads dont clear out today
2/17/2015 9:02:27 AM
Anyone know what kind of condition I-40 is in? Just saw some traffic shots of 440 near Glenwood and it looked pretty bad.
2/17/2015 9:30:46 AM
Traffic cames don't make it look that bad
2/17/2015 9:56:41 AM
There isn't any traffic. But you can tell the roads are super slick and not clear. That's what I was implying.
2/17/2015 10:14:20 AM
Even though they are calling for above freezing temps. With the ice on the ground, temps aren't going to make it
2/17/2015 10:15:06 AM
so whats happening tonight?

yeah just enough to smoooth it out
2/17/2015 11:15:36 AM
we just did some sledding down the hills in our neighborhood and everything is still a solid sheet of ice. It's only supposed to get above freezing for an hour or two today, but if the sun comes out it could melt things down a bit. But like dtownral said, it's just going to re-freeze this afternoon and tonight.I bet we'll see a bunch of delays tomorrow at the least
2/17/2015 11:22:53 AM
this weekend is looking like it might be a repeat of yesterday...
2/17/2015 11:26:51 AM
2/17/2015 12:20:17 PM
Remember this time last week they were forecasting temps in the low 40's for today...
2/17/2015 12:27:20 PM
Just drove from Crabtree to holly Springs. 440 was in great shape. Most secondary roads were good too. Just wet. I guess we will see how much of that dries or refreezes
2/17/2015 12:41:09 PM
There's a policeman stuck in front of my house right now on a road that was definitely salted. And I couldn't even make it around the house to take the trash out. Made it halfway, legs started sliding apart...I figured I could hang in and make it down there, but I'd have to crawl back up. Plus, it would be a pain to get the frozen trash can open while also somehow not slipping and breaking my neck. The only vehicles I've seen successfully traverse the road are trucks, and they're moving along easily.[Edited on February 17, 2015 at 1:06 PM. Reason : Stay warm and safe, y'all!]
2/17/2015 1:06:23 PM
I tried to walk to work today but ended up getting stuck moonwalking up a hill. Just sheets of ice on every surface. Gave up and defrosted my car instead... to be basically go across the street.
2/17/2015 1:10:11 PM
4wd and MAIN roads are the easiest and safest ways to get around right now. The interstate is good to go for the most part...will be interesting tonight, but they know where and what to plow/spray.If there's any added precip, they will prolly call off work till Friday. A one day school week. Impressive.
2/17/2015 1:15:56 PM
^^Yes, it sucks! I was soooo close to that trash can.
2/17/2015 1:20:20 PM
i thought i saw on weatherunderground we were supposed to get more snow/freezing rain this afternoon around 4ishi could check again but im busy not having enough fucks to give
2/17/2015 1:20:43 PM
I may have overindulged in a Rizzoli and Isles marathon.Never particularly interested in this show, but it's what was on when I turned on the TV, and then I got mesmerized.

2/17/2015 1:55:47 PM
^That's sweet. Forecasts include possible "snow squalls" for tomorrow in isolated locations between Piedmont and Triangle between 4-6pm. Could be fun!
2/17/2015 1:58:10 PM
roads are fine, this storm was a busti don't want to go to work tomorrow
2/17/2015 2:11:09 PM
yo ddk you might wanna try shooting in landscape next timek thanks
2/17/2015 2:16:00 PM
I don't envy those on the east coast. It's 62 here in the San Diego area, and I'm cold. This Florida native isn't built to handle cold temperatures.
2/17/2015 2:29:54 PM
So half an inch of actual snow predicted for the 22nd.Interesting.
2/17/2015 3:03:13 PM
I had 6 inches of snow yesterday/last night. Props to VDOT though, they even scraped the secondary road I live on last night.
2/17/2015 3:06:52 PM
I will say that East coast "south" wise, WV and VA do an amazing job with snow/ice.
2/17/2015 3:10:56 PM
I live off of the unincorporated part of Trailwood and my street is a solid sheet of icewas able to skate in my shoes[Edited on February 17, 2015 at 3:30 PM. Reason : .]

Wake County Schools tomorrow? [ ] Maybe with a delay[ ] No way in hellWhat yall think? [Edited on February 17, 2015 at 3:32 PM. Reason : . ]
2/17/2015 3:31:47 PM
delay
2/17/2015 3:34:05 PM
Guilford County Schools already closed. Nothing really has melted here, and they've not plowed any secondary roads.
2/17/2015 3:36:22 PM
no way in hell Wake County Schools are open tomorrowtoo many backroads that aren't gonna be plowed in time
2/17/2015 3:39:34 PM
how many cars caught fire this year?
2/17/2015 3:50:11 PM
I just went out n about and a lot of the secondary roads aren't that bad, but most of the neighborhood roads I saw (including mine) looked pretty shitty still. Plus when you factor in a low of 20 tonight id guess Wake kids get another day off
2/17/2015 3:54:03 PM
i'm confident that the main roads will be fine tomorrow morning, but i'm not sure if i will be able to get out of neighborhood
2/17/2015 4:14:27 PM
our street is pretty well melted in front of my house, but there are shaded parts up a slight hill that i have to drive through to get out (it's a cul-de-sac)...i'll bet money it's a sheet of ice tomorrow morningi already told my boss i'm working from home it was fun watching the kids sled down the road, though...it's long and straight and they were getting up quite a bit of momentum
2/17/2015 4:14:30 PM
wake county and durham county schools closed
2/17/2015 5:06:24 PM
My road melted a fair bit today, but it's still 75% covered in ice. Really don't see my car making it up the (very minor) hill tomorrow morning on my summer tires (inclement weather car is in the shop, dammit).Might have to work from home again.[Edited on February 17, 2015 at 5:21 PM. Reason : k]

2/17/2015 5:34:37 PM
Just drive really fast.
2/17/2015 6:20:56 PM
Roads seem fine in Charlotte. Most of them were pretty dry coming home, so re-freezing shouldn't be too much of an issue over the next few days.
2/17/2015 8:33:32 PM
bbehe you just gotta keep the momentum up. So go really fast going down the hill, so you can coast up the other side
