Yessir. Starting in two weeks.

You won't make much money at this brewery rep position but it's a great way to get a foot in the door in craft beer. Worked for me

Had a unibroue ephemere last night. While it was still decent it was probably my least favorite from unibroue (although that's not saying much since I love so many of their beers).

Also had a 2011 Trader Joe's Vintage Ale (brewed by Unibroue) aged almost a full year now from the shelf purchase. Definitely a different flavor than it had last year but it was still very good, especially for the cool weather that rolled in this weekend.

Lordy, that’s as red as the devil’s britches.” exclaimed a local ranther, awed by the vibrant fall canopy ablaze on what is known today as Devil’s – Britches trail. Highland Brewing commemorates the history of the Great Smoky Mountains and Devil’s Britches trailwith a rich, red IPA. Ashbume Mild malt produces a toasted and biscuity flavor, and Extra Special malt renders an alluring red hue. Apollo hops provide aggressive bitterness 70 IBUs), while dry-hopping with Calypso hops yields complex fruity and floral aromas with hints of pear and apple. This devilishly delicious ale is Highland’s twist on the great American IPA.

Style: American IPA
Hops: Apollo, Calypso
Malts: Ashburn Mild, Extra Special Malt

Availability: 12oz bottles, Draft
Arrival: TBA

Stone's Enjoy By 11.09.12 IPA finally hit Colorado, yeah!

Also picked up Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project Sentience Wild Quadrupel Ale aged in Bourbon Barrels & Avery's #13 Barrel-Aged Series Odio Equum

Beer fest week is ramping up and going to get crazy.

Tomorrow I'm going to the Renegade Elevated Wood (BA TIPA) release.

^ Had a night layover in Boulder on my way to Wyoming for work, so I went by the Odio release last night around 8 and picked up a few bottles. Also drank some Bad Apple and Ross' Mom - both awesome but the Ross' was something else.

Set aside 4 nights around the last weekend of the month (25th-29th) on my pass back through, staying in Boulder. Would be interested to know if there's anything cool going on. I've done a good bit of beer exploration around the area but haven't yet hit Golden City or Great Divide, so they're on the list. Hoping to get some play from any interesting GABF leftovers, or just that the place hasn't been totally drained.

^^ follow this guy:
http://blogs.westword.com/cafesociety/beer_man/

There are too many events this week to weed out what's going on the end of the month, but typically he'll post the weekend beer-related happenings on Thursday just prior to the weekend. There's ALWAYS something going on in the area.

I'd go to Upslope in Boulder if you're staying there, and I think there's a new brewery called Wild Woods Brewery that's a nanobrewery that just opened. Twisted Pine is good too.

I'd go to Great Divide, Denver Beer Co., Prost & River North all downtown Denver. We have two more breweries opening (Black Shirt Brewing & Our Mutual Friend) and there's a bazillion others on the fringe of downtown Denver to explore. (Strange, Wit's End, TRVE, Vine Street Brewery & Pub, Hogshead)

GABF Kick-off party at Falling Rock Taphouse last night, had Bear Republic Racer X & Stone Enjoy By IPA, both excellent.

Following that up tonight with Renegade's Elevated Wood (BA TIPA) bomber release party, should be fun.

So last night I had to work late, so swung by Paramount Cafe and they had Stone Brewmasters there, along with Odell and Firestone Walker. Had the highly sought after Velvet Merkin (Bourbon Barrel-aged version of the Velvet Merlin Oatmeal Stout), so ridiculously good, along with another rare beer from Odell called Odell Proletariat a 6% full-bodied California Common style beer so good brewed with the guy from Paramount, and so much better than Anchor Steam. Got to talk to the brewmaster and told him how much I liked it, he bought the first round for the table!

Then topped off the night with the Belgian-style Yeti. TOUGH week.

belgian yeti is the only one i've never tried

except the more random ones i've probably never heard of

uses a belgian yeast, but the rest of the recipe is the same right?

that just doesn't sound appealing to me.

yes, it's not bad, but def. not my favorite.

i'd put them in this order:

1. Oak-Aged Yeti (preferably with a year on it) & Espresso Yeti
2. Chocolate Yeti
3. Barrel-Aged Yeti (Stranahan Barrels) & Maker's Mark Yeti
4. Yeti
5. Belgian-style Yeti
6. Baby Yeti
7. Bretty Yeti

(Bretty/Baby/MM are draft only)

I guess I'll stick with the unimaginative, cheap stuff.

Cracked open some of this: It was hoppy, reminded me more like an IPA than a pilsner. I'm trying to get used to the taste, but I still can't quite figure out how people enjoy IPAs.

And this: Pleasant tasting, no complaints from me.

Oh, and also had some Sweetwater Georgia Brown Ale. The Sam Adams version that's in the seasonal pack right now tasted much better.

So I was at my local Total Wine (Fredericksburg) and noticed the stack of Dogfish Worldwide Stout that has been there for a while, but the stack of 120 Minute IPA that was there last time was gone. Luckily the distributor was there so I asked him about it...he said it had just sold out, but told me the bottom box of the stack of Worldwide Stout had been there since 2010 (never sold for some reason). So they have a whole box of 2+ year aged stouts just sitting there and don't advertise it...

Needless to say, I made a purchase

Wadhead1 Tilquin is delicious. You made a good purchase.

I stopped by Good Bottle Co. today. It's a nice little bottle shop but the selection is your standard fare. I actually didn't buy anything so I can't say how the prices looked as none of the shelves or bottles were marked. I'm not really sure what they're going for. They have 16 taps, most all local, but they are only going to stay open til 7 each night. That's a lot of draft beer to turn over in limited operating hours.

Restricted, let me know how that Zombie Killer is. I just bought one yesterday along with a Big Bad Baptist myself. Want to compare it to my 11 BBB.

oh, and a shout out to NoDa Brewing and Olde Meck Brewing. Each one silver medals at the GABF. Mother Earth brought home a bronze

new orleans haul.

if you're ever there, check out stein's market and deli. great sandwiches, well crafted beer selection.

i hope there's a day i can buy more geuzes here in houston than just cuvee rene.

don't worry, the golden blends i muled for someone. i'm not quite the level of ballin' type to plunk down $25/375mL for multiples.
