3 Scholo runs in 8 hours and no DM mask drop. One Valor and Two freakin Beaststalker Helms!!! It's all good though. Once I am done with my test today, go to the movies and catch a nap I am going to be beating Scholo's ass until I get my spooky mask. I did, however, get the Necropile Robes. They are nice for a lock.
8/5/2005 7:41:25 AM
Yeah, I've run Scholo a few times and that Necropile shit drops like candy. Valor plz.

for those wondering about most anything priest-related, your answer can probably be found here:http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-priest&t=126495&p=1&tmp=1#post126495Right now, my paladin is having an identity crisis. I'm tired of just being a buffbot and emergency healer if something goes wrong. I'm almost done getting a +% crit set of gear together, and have started beating most rogues on damage meters, and some locks. I'm wondering about the feasibility of doing any real tanking if I get the gear together for it. I've got about 340 defense with gear I have now, but still don't have the +sta or aggro management needed that warriors get. Is there any way I could put together something that would work, or will I have to wait a few patches until they make the pally talent changes being discussed on the boards? Right now I'm content to amass gear in hopes it will eventually be useful to me, but I'm not terribly optimistic and am unsure what spec line I would want to take once they make the changes anyway. This is coming from someone who's not in a MC-caliber guild, by the way.]]

Your first mistake was being a paladin =P

tip to increase your gaming enjoyment. dont spend countless days running instances for a specific blue item. cause all that crap will get vendored once you start hitting up Molten Core.
8/8/2005 12:32:49 AM
Yeah, and then you get to spend countless days doing molten core.OMG SOOOOO FUN.[Edited on August 8, 2005 at 12:40 AM. Reason : ed]

But I want my cool freaky mask that makes me look spooky. And then I will worry about my other mask that gives me nifty horns. I am also in the position of having to wait for my guild to get to the point where we can run things as a unit. There are too many sparatic things happening at the moment to tackle a high end instance let alone MC or Onyxia. *sigh*

I think I've finally figured out the whole warlock thing.See, Blizzard took a mage and subtracted all the instant death spells, then required credits ,"soul shards" as they call it, to use the really high DPS spells in an grand social experiment to see if anyone really is terribly fucking stupid enough to play this class.

^ Org I think but not positive.
8/9/2005 11:28:18 AM
I am actually having a lot more fun playing Warlock than I did with hunter. People want locks in parties and since everyone an their grandmother doesn't play a lock like they do hunter so I actually have a good chance of getting drops.
8/9/2005 12:16:12 PM
they need to drop this care bear pvp shit. they should make it so alliance and horde can control cities.

high instance raids = yes
8/9/2005 9:12:37 PM
Man, those hunters, frost mages, warlocks, and warriors that I consistenly outdps in Molten Core must really suck ass then. Only classes I can't outdps in MC are rogues and MS spec'd warriors. And in the regular 5-10 man instances, forget about it, number 1 every time.
8/9/2005 11:32:33 PM
Hunters and warriors I can easily see, but I call BS on frost mages and warlocks. Maybe the extreme ones just suck.Your frostbolts take .5 seconds longer to cast, crit for way less, and do less damage overall. You may be able to outdamage frost mages on Garr/Sulferon where you can use fire but when you factor in all of the trash mob clearing and other bosses I highly doubt you out dps them.As far as warlocks go they are just plain nasty. Try taking Octorok along on a raid. There is no way you would outdps him.Even if you somehow do outdps these classes it is not going to be ultimately effective because you are going to pull aggro and not have ice block to protect yourself. High dps doesn't mean much if causes a high number of deaths.
8/10/2005 12:04:00 AM
I'll take a screenshot of a dps meter after our next raid, but I promise you a warlock, frost mage, or hunter has never out dps'd me in Molten Core. The only one's that have even come close is our one warlock with 7/8 felheart and frost mage with 7/8 arcanist. And I can use fireballs on a lot more than just Garr and Sulfuron. Basically once curse of elements gets put on any trash mob not made of fire, I can blast away. Sure, I pull (trash mob) aggro and die a lot when my healers suck ass but that's all part of the game. As long as I'm not pulling aggro on bosses, it's not hurting anything except my repair bill. I'd say it's even more impressive that I'm dead during a lot of fights and still manage to stay near the top of the dps list. Now, I do realize I'm an exception, most fire mages don't do very well in MC and I'm really the only mage (fire or frost) at all in our guild that consistently stays in the top 10 dps. The point is that it is very possible to do just fine in MC without totally gimping yourself in PVP, it's just most people don't bother trying.[Edited on August 10, 2005 at 12:25 AM. Reason : :]

I have a paladin that I use to play with my girlfriend on burning blade. I must say, after completing the quest for Verigan's Fist http://thottbot.com/?i=4190 and being a retribution spec, I am a monster in Warsong Gulch. Seriously, I will go through 3 or 4 people, critting for 600-700 (weapon dmg + seal of command) and end up 18-2 at the end of the match. That includes those "overpowered" shamans.
8/10/2005 2:12:29 AM
yea pallys are just as overpowered and shamans, both sides bitch about the other. Ive got a question for the Mages, how should i go. i know thee are different play styles to go with each but im not sure what i want to do. I know there are always golden standard talents with every class so let me know what i need to do.
8/10/2005 2:32:28 AM
If you're pulling so much aggro, and are "dead during a lot of fights", have you considered that maybe the other mages and locks aren't near you in dps because they have enough sense to tone it down a bit and not get themselves killed or strain their healers' mana reserves by pulling aggro?
