Yeah...Um.What the hell Fox News?
8/25/2012 1:32:03 AM
i found it amusing that Fox News didn't show delegates going to Ron Paul during the roll call - gotta stick to that narrative...make Romney look unanimous. I just saw the screens at the gym, so never heard the commentary. CNN showed Paul delegates.

Is Fox News always running Alert banners anytime they are broadcasting news? They had "Alert" Chris Christie may stray from script. Really? That's a fucking cause for alarm?
8/29/2012 1:10:39 AM
It's the only way to keep the sheep scared enough to not stray from the herd.
8/29/2012 5:30:43 AM
Wait what's this on fox news? Is this a weird dream? Are they actually calling out one of their own? http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/08/30/paul-ryans-speech-in-three-words/
8/30/2012 1:51:13 PM
On the Daily Show, they're calling the Republicans' campaign "Jeb Bush's Road to the 2016 Presidency", or something like that.
8/30/2012 1:53:46 PM
yepand per usual, it's spot-fucking-on
8/30/2012 2:07:45 PM
Apparently she was invited to write the liberal reply to the Paul Ryan's speech. Still a little shocking that they OKed it though.

reeeeaaaalllly love the "outrage" on Fox News over God not appearing in the 2012 Democratic Platform

9/5/2012 6:56:08 PM

I tried watching fox news again last night... hannity is horrendous and they all bend over for whoever is the republican. They constantly blamed obama and the democrats for the statement released by the US embassy. They have no idea how to support a president. Shit has gone way to far in politics.
9/13/2012 10:00:27 AM
You mean, they have no idea how to support a democratic president. I saw a pretty funny segment on the Daily Show that last night that showed the pundits during both the RNC and the DNC making completely contradictory statements and assesment. One example was Brit Hume praising Ryan for all the economic details he made in his speech (even though he didn't really give any details), and then turning around and completely criticizing Clinton for the details (when clinton actually did go into details). There were multiple examples of this.

I, too, hate Fox News. And MSNBC. Just a bunch of right and left wing hacks. I don't watch those tards anymore.

lol McCain was just on Sean Hannity's show and Hannity was continually trying to bait McCain into trashing Obama over the Libya deal, and McCain kept getting annoyed and finally told Hannity that he wasn't on the show to trash the administration[Edited on September 13, 2012 at 9:59 PM. Reason : .]

"if what we're watching doesn't support our right-wing agenda, it MUST be liberal bias!!11!!"
9/26/2012 1:59:01 PM
Just a simple, non-inflammatory question here.Let's say Romney does win the election, maybe even by a decent margin. What are you guys going to blame it on exactly? Is it going to be some widespread vote tampering / corruption?Or are you going to admit media bias and polling errors?Could Republicans be screwing up polling by calling themselves independents or not participating?I'm just curious what the attitude might be around here if Obama falls? Disbelief? Instant defensive stance against Soapbox Republicans?I for one am not planning on gloating, but I'd like to know in advance what you'd be feeling in your worst-case scenario.Of course politics being discussed more often now in Chit Chat makes leaving here like I promised more appealing
9/26/2012 2:03:18 PM
No one is suggesting that Romney has a 0 percent chance of winning, so unless one is completely unreasonable, knee-jerk reactions that haven't happened yet like the ones you're already getting a hardon for wouldn't happen. You're creating an unwinnable situation here, though. If Romney doesn't win, I doubt you'll admit the lack of "tampering/corruption", or lack of "media bias and polling errors." So either Romney wins and you get to say "you were all fooled by the MSM" or Obama wins and you get to say "you were all fooled by the MSM."I'm curious to know what you think about Nate Silver's methodology, and why you're so confident that he's wrong currently to predict Obama at 79.7%? Is it only the super secret polls that you have and not the terrabytes of data he analyzes that are correct?
9/26/2012 2:10:38 PM
let's say Romney loses by the margins that are looking more and more clear in recent polls. What then will Fox News blame it on? The a-a-a-alcohol?

9/26/2012 2:13:46 PM
I have a tinfoil hat.It matches my metal rod.
9/26/2012 2:14:45 PM
I also don't claim to be smarter than Mr. Silver, and I don't think he is necessarily incorrect.I don't think either candidate is unbeatable, although I am annoyed by attitudes regarding an Obama landslide.I tend to be very cautious about polls at this point in the game. I consider right now to be very early.I don't think Obama has independents wrapped up in any way at all.
9/26/2012 2:23:55 PM
Well a lot of that hinges on the fact that Republicans have been reidentifying themselves as independent in droves. It's not a perfect correlation, but it's pretty obvious that a decent chunk of Independents might just be Republicans trying to shed the albatross that is their actual party identification:In other words, the independence of Independents is overrated, and I wouldn't expect them to shift wildly in these last few weeks. Obama should concern himself chiefly with getting the vote out of Democrats.[Edited on September 27, 2012 at 11:47 AM. Reason : .]

I don't get the whole issue with showing a dude offing himself. I'm not defending fox news, I don't agree with any media outlet censoring harmless news.
10/1/2012 4:37:40 PM
I think cable news (and maybe news outlets in general) tries to remain PG to protect the chilluns, and people kind of expect it to be PG. Many adults would be disturbed by watching a live suicide, especially if it's gory (which this one didn't turn out to be, luckily). So it's in the network's best interest not to show it.
10/1/2012 6:39:03 PM
that and the whole glorifying suicide thing
