remember that time sidney lowe went to the final four
10/9/2015 11:15:57 PM
his best win that season was against Kansascongrats DD, you ran the table in a shit conference while playing nobody and lost against the only 2 good teams you played
10/9/2015 11:17:25 PM
Hard to find any reason to feel good about this team or DD. Brissett was/is his guy and in his senior year, 3 years with DD, he is freaking trash. Seriously how can you be optimistic about this team. Wake will beat us by 14+.
10/9/2015 11:22:11 PM
If we get 5 wins this year I'll be surprised now. I don't see any games on the table that we should be favored in.

never heard of him, but i bet he'd go at least 1-7 in conference
10/9/2015 11:25:10 PM
bunch of dad-gum children. it takes 4 years to build a football program from scratch. the first 3 years have always been a grace period. shit. i'm damn pleased that we got all the way to winning a bowl in year 2. that was gravy. lets see what happens next year before discussing the hotseat talk. my only problem with you guys is that you state no expectations and then just complain every loss regardless of what takes place. i clearly state my expectations ahead of time. if you did the same, i could respect your complaints but reacting to every loss with a call for someones head is childish. you can't keep moving the goal posts.

10/9/2015 11:41:43 PM
I expect to beat teams that ecu beats. Forever. Low expectation but not getting met.
10/9/2015 11:57:14 PM
having a .166 conference winning percentage in football is never fine, but at least its excusable at schools like Kansas and Kentucky that can win basketball titles (and look at Duke which manages to win basketball titles and bring their football program from joke to respectable). having a .166 conference winning percentage in the worst Power 5 conference, not being able to beat WAKE FOREST or anyone else on the road in the division, is pathetic, and our inability to win at anything else as well magnifies the problem.
10/10/2015 12:02:58 AM
Coaching is questionable but we're stuck with him for a while. He has good players, sure we have some serious holes like a non existing o-line and very limited receivers, but we also have some really good players who are not be utilizing to their fullest. Hope he rallies up Canada and figure out what the hell he has been doing because its been laughable in ACC play so far.
10/10/2015 12:09:45 AM
in fairness, he started 4-0 last year against shit teams, and then lost the first 2 ACC gamesdifference is the first 2 conference games were FSU and Clemson. We've still got those guaranteed L's on our upcoming schedule this yeari want him to succeed, but if we go 1-7 or 2-6 in conference, his job isn't very secure at the end of the season
10/10/2015 12:16:07 AM
^ Didn't we give him a contract extension? Seems like he has some security. Also, i would say 2-6 at this point with 3-5 being our ceiling at this point. We haven't won at Wake and Boston for as long as I can remember, Syracuse has a backup QB but with our defense that's irrelevant and Flordia State/Clemson could be embarrassing. We always give UNC a tough game but UNC's defense looks magnitudes better than last year.[Edited on October 10, 2015 at 12:25 AM. Reason : .]
10/10/2015 12:21:52 AM
If we go 1-7 or 2-6...he better come out smoking and hope mcclendon is the next coming next season or else he will be packing his shit. Btw, just like our past few coaches, he's gotten the best recruiting classes he's gonna get. He better make hay while he can...which he's not. My guess is well be looking for a new head coach at the end of 2016
10/10/2015 12:23:22 AM
^ In the beginning of this year, 2-6 would of had me laughing but not at this point. Do you realistically see 3 or more wins with the remaining schedule?
10/10/2015 12:27:02 AM
His buyout would only be $3.36 million if we fired him at the end of the year. That's nothing, relatively speaking.
10/10/2015 12:27:03 AM
^ That would only be logical if we have a proven coach coming over, otherwise seems like a moot point.[Edited on October 10, 2015 at 12:31 AM. Reason : .]
10/10/2015 12:31:25 AM
IF we somehow go 0-8 in conference, it's a valid point and likely scenario, regardless of what sucker, i mean coach, we convince to come heresomebody will take a $750k salary to run this shit show
10/10/2015 12:36:08 AM
Ill do it guys
10/10/2015 12:40:41 AM
This dude sucks. All we had to do was run the ball.
10/10/2015 1:31:55 AM
So E-troll, why does DD need 4 years to "build" his program, but a guy like Narduzzi can inherit a shit Pittsburgh team, lose his best player, and go in against the same VT that dick slapped us tonight and hold them to 100 yards. Fucking Narduzzi has a better win in his 4th game than Doreen has in his 35+ at State. Harbaugh has completely flipped the culture at Michigan, Dykes has lifted Cal in 3 yrs, McElwain has UF playing great, etc. Good college coaches don't need 4 years. I thought we learned this shit with TOB. Wash, rinse, repeat with NC State coaches. 20 years of this garbage. At least Chuck was entertaining and TOB was good at taking veiled shots at UNC. Doeren is just a boring dude with man tits.

Doerknob is Debbie's guy, he's not getting fired unless we go 0-8 and even then I'd think it'd be 50/50Mclendon better be good, though, or we're looking at another Doerknob coaching search. Does anyone know if there's a new hotshot coach who has Debbie's agent?

10/12/2015 1:16:05 PM
he controls game times now?
10/12/2015 1:16:43 PM
yes, shitty conference performance = shitty conference game times. 3-15 in conference games leads to shitty noon start times. that's all on his garbage coaching.
10/12/2015 1:33:58 PM
Can someone educate me on what Doeren's "system?" Some posters are trying to make it like its some complicated piece of work but from what I've seen it consists of very run of the mill plays.
10/12/2015 1:49:34 PM
Man, more vitriol directed here towards Doeren than at PP
10/12/2015 2:01:27 PM
just cause Doeren's a white guy, so PP goes easy on him
10/12/2015 2:20:57 PM
I'm asking a legitimate question. I keep hearing that he needs four years for his system which I thought was suppose to be a high temp offense which needed a dual threat QB in which he said Jacoby was his guy. I haven't seen anything that remotely resembles a high temp offense and whats so complicated about his offense that requires several years to implement and whats his missing pieces? If he think he can out recruit the likes of Florida State and Clemson then he needs to find a way to put together strong seasons with big wins because top recruits want play for big time coaches.
10/12/2015 2:41:43 PM
the only person saying that is Earl, so if you believe him, that's your own fault
10/12/2015 3:17:22 PM
He was hired to get rid of the old guy smell at the Vaughn towers
10/12/2015 3:48:07 PM
^^ Fair enough, I don't keep track of who said it I just recall seeing it plastered numerous times. I dorecall Doeren saying at a press conference that he had a proven system from NIU but I fail to understandwhat exactly it is or why he haven't implemented it yet.
10/12/2015 4:07:31 PM
I'm also one of the people who's saying he needs more time and the answer lies in the question. I've been wondering why he's been playing slowly but it makes sense if you think about it. You need a different type of lineman on both sides of the ball to run fast pace. You need to be able to sub guys in and out but you also need smaller, more fit olineman that can get back to the line before the defense is ready. if the dlinemen are faster/more fit than your oline then playing fast only plays into their hands. You have to specifically recruit linemen to play in this system. You also need a deep defense that is ready to spend most of the game on the field because you are playing fast on offense. Even if you score, they are right back on the field. Right now, we lack depth on both sides of the ball. Thats only part of it. Thats the new part. The other issue i described is being used to playing horizontal football instead of uphill downhill football. You need like 3 or 4 years in the system to really get good at it. Most players have been playing spread or pro style offense since high school so if the coach changes, its not that much different than what they've been doing. We're asking linemen to move with lateral quickness.
10/12/2015 4:37:28 PM
If you sub offensive players, it doesn't matter how fast your lineman get to the ball. The umpire will have his foot on the ball and you can't snap it. Shit. Broke the first rule.
10/12/2015 4:56:39 PM
I am wondering now how much the loss of Bo Hines is impacting the offense this year? Brissett is holding the ball forever in the pocket waiting for our WRs to get open, but none have the ability like Hines did. Obviously the INT streak was probably making Brissett more scared to throw anywhere near a defender, but combine that with WRs who don't know how to find the soft spot in the secondary on broken plays and you are left with our pitiful offense. Teams pretty much now realize that if they stop our run, the game is over.In terms of tempo, we need to try something different to at least confuse a defense some. Maybe we run our slow as fuck tempo one series, then go no huddle the next. It can't hurt to try something because 13 damn points per game isn't winning shit unless we play amazing on D.
10/12/2015 5:13:32 PM
If you're a good coach, you'll adjust your system to fit the talent that you have. And by good coach, I mean good football coach, not good MAC coach.Supposedly running "your system" with a bunch of guys who can't run it leads to a 3-15 conference record with no good wins in 2 and a half years.]

Paging TGD. Time to fire up that website[Edited on October 14, 2015 at 10:35 PM. Reason : 1]
10/14/2015 10:35:14 PM
You adjust the system to fit the talent around you, until you get "your guys" inYou don't fit round pegs in square holes the first 4 years because "I was brought in to run my system"
10/14/2015 10:37:02 PM
i like round pegs in my square holes. what's wrong with that? DD has got to GO. Tired of this shit. ECU has as many ACC wins in 2 seasons as State has in 3. Just something really not right about that.
10/14/2015 11:02:12 PM
I'm baffled why he hasn't been fired yet. I thought Debbie wanted to win. Bitch has gotten soft over the years. I say fire him after the next loss so we have an extra few weeks to get embarrassed have a head start in yet another disappointing coach search.
