^^ Don't forget about Leinart, who also started ahead of him, and also got injured to even get Yates a jersey on gameday.
1/21/2013 2:00:06 PM
lol what does Jim McMahon have to do with UNC?
1/21/2013 5:12:06 PM
nothing. But his 1 Super Bowl and Conference Title run rank higher than the 3 state guys he listed.

Thank God my coworkers at Blue Heaven aren't unrealistic asshats like those fanbois on IC. Needless to say I am definitely wearing my NCSU hoodie to work tomorrow (like I always do). Probably get some nasty looks this time. Fuck 'em.
1/27/2013 4:36:56 PM
That has to be a troll. Hubert Davis?Really?
1/27/2013 4:37:19 PM
1/27/2013 10:29:40 PM
I wouldnt say he is Leslie but McAdoo played well yesterday considering his playing time due to foul trouble.
1/27/2013 10:37:28 PM
mcadoo stinks, leslie does not.strickland is pretty clearly better than purvis though even though they were both terrible last night
1/27/2013 10:56:43 PM
Harriston and Jmm suck. That's all there is
1/27/2013 11:00:52 PM
I really wonder how many of these guys stay after this year. I don't ever see Paige being "their" PG.
1/28/2013 12:41:49 AM
1/28/2013 12:48:00 AM
air balled layupsstrickland 1purvis 0
1/28/2013 12:52:23 AM
4.1 APG aint no joke.
1/28/2013 12:53:26 AM
neither is 40% from behind the arcpoint is, neither is CLEARLY better than the otherfunny how much they both suck at FTs thoughtrump card for Purvis is he's a freshman, Strickland is a senior
1/28/2013 12:56:26 AM
well yeah purvis is going to have the better career if you factor in that he's a freshman, but for this year UNC has the advantage by having strickland obviously.
1/28/2013 1:08:16 AM
how do you look at the stat comparison and say either one is 'obviously' better? strickland averages 2 more assists and 1 more steal, purvis averages 2 more points and is a superior outside shooter...nothing obvious about either one being better than the other...if anything, its a very good argument for pack and heels fans to have about which one is better, since their production is so even
1/28/2013 1:09:51 AM
McAdoo is not very good. Plus, he was supposed to be the leader or whatever, which he hasn't been at all...but I understand that leading this particular UNC-CH team would be very, very difficult.I'm still unclear why Strickland wouldn't have been the designated leader though. He's a senior who has advanced to the Elite 8 twice and won 3 state championships in high school. And he just grins, just smiles real big all the time, like he doesn't realize he's a disappointment.^,^^The easiest way to settle the argument is to offer each group of fans a choice. Both groups would pick Purvis over Strickland all day every day.[Edited on January 28, 2013 at 1:22 AM. Reason : ]
1/28/2013 1:10:31 AM
strickland is far superior defensively and his offensive rating is quite a bit higher too.Purvis is not having a good season, of our six players he's our weak link. Everyone would take Strickland over Purvis THIS SEASON. O-rating: 100.9, 51.1% TS, 3.6% O-Reb, 6.5% D-Reb, 9.6% Ast, 16.6% TO, 1.4% Stl, FT rate 33.9O-rating: 105.8, 48.3% TS, 1.8% O-Reb, 7.9% D-Reb, 24.3% Ast, 16.5% TO, 3.2% stl, FT rate 45.2[Edited on January 28, 2013 at 1:24 AM. 1/28/2013 1:23:53 AM
lol, if youve ever read IC you would know that carolina fans HATE strickland and I guarantee most would take purvis in a heartbeat
1/28/2013 1:26:08 AM
nah, they'd hate purvis more if they hate strickland. Guy just hasn't shown much this year. I still think he's going to be a good one, but he was overrated coming out of high school. He's more name than substance so far.
1/28/2013 1:27:54 AM
i almost think a wide open purvis is more money from 3-point land than a wide open Woodalmostbut strickland is a horrible shooter, so i'm sure most UNC fans would prefer Purvis...plus he performs highlight reel slam dunks and then flashes his great smile to the crowd afterwards...meanwhile, strickland bricks layups that Jaybee could make
1/28/2013 1:59:19 AM
^^You're crazy. Strickland has averaged 4.3 points per game in conference play. Purvis has averaged 11.1. And he doesn't just score; he gets baskets at the moments when we need them the most. He's also just ridiculously freakishly fast. I mean, whatever, he has room to improve, but thank goodness he's on our team and not theirs.Chapel Hill is desperate for a guy who can score, and Strickland ain't it.To be clear, I normally avoid these conversations because I don't enjoy critiquing players. But I feel comfortable asserting that the Purvis/Strickland comparison is ridiculous.[Edited on January 28, 2013 at 2:03 AM. Reason : ]
1/28/2013 2:03:03 AM
^^ Agreed. Purvis has so much potential
1/28/2013 6:43:31 AM
I think face is trolling, but I do agree that Purvis is overrated. He's got a ton of potential, but he's also a ball hog that shoots too much. His assist to TO ratio sucks. He's definitely better than Tyler Lewis though [Edited on January 28, 2013 at 7:13 AM. Reason : .]
1/28/2013 7:12:26 AM
Purvis also wins the pretigious "NCSU Basketball Players Johnny Swank's Mom would Disown him For" award. Others: Tom GugliattaJulius Hodge
1/28/2013 7:38:59 AM
Purvis is just young, and needs to learn how to pass.. the.. ball.. TJ Warren is an incredible freshmen, but he needs to learn to shoot foul shots. Lewis just seems terrified with the ball, so I don't think we have even scratched the surface of his potential.
1/28/2013 9:21:00 AM
trollface
1/28/2013 9:26:25 AM
^^ idk about terrified - the kid is confident with the ball. He's just more of a typical freshmen than Purvis & Warren, who were both college-ready
1/28/2013 10:39:31 AM
Lewis definitely looks nervous and jumpy out there when he's playing, but I think he can grown into a good PG for us. He doesn't look nearly as bad Jackson Simmons did trying to guard Zo, that guy looked terrified.
1/28/2013 11:53:22 AM
nothing better than a Rodney Purvis Happy Face way better than a dexter strickland happy face
1/28/2013 12:09:42 PM
1/28/2013 12:13:04 PM
1/28/2013 12:16:36 PM
^^^^^^My thoughts about Lewis. He is an amazing passer in high school. Now in college, he still has the vision, but the college kids are faster and are making better plays on his passes, or he is hesitating thinking he won't be able to make the pass. He has the vision and knows what to do with it, but he hasn't caught up to the speed yet; YET. But he will and he will be able to run an offense seamlessly. Just my thoughts on him.
1/28/2013 12:16:56 PM
Wood is obviously a better outside shooter, and shooter period, but every time this season I can remember Purvis being left wide open and having a full second to square up, its been nothing but net]
1/28/2013 12:41:01 PM
^Same can be said for Wood. It's just harder to queue up the images in your mind because he is so rarely left wide open.
1/28/2013 2:02:20 PM
yeah, we're so used to Wood nailing 3's that it isn't really remarkable/memorable anymore
1/28/2013 2:05:52 PM
i recall plenty of wide open bricks from purvis, especially a few weeks ago.wide open from wood is money in the bank.
1/28/2013 2:45:41 PM
why is it that every time face talks, i wish i was oedipus rex and gouging out my own eyes with roaches? oh because he blindly quotes facts because he's an idiot and doesnt know anything that he cant read elsewhere and regurgitate.
1/28/2013 2:55:39 PM
I would say it is a healthy mix of "the truth hurts" and "troll alert".
1/28/2013 3:23:34 PM

He'll be the perfect second unit energy guy, ala Bledsoe or Van Exel.
1/28/2013 3:40:20 PM
Out of the freshmen class, TJ Warren is obviously the most impressive recruit, which is why the re-tweeting of that comment freaked a lot of people out. If he stays until he's a Junior, he will be really great.[Edited on January 28, 2013 at 3:48 PM. Reason : -]
