^does that help with identifying songs? Or do you guys leave it on the default length?
12/6/2008 3:02:24 PM
mine has always been fine on the default length but i would think the longer it listens to more accurate it would be.

Lately my NCSU email on my iPhone has been acting up. I can get the mail, check it and everything, but it will not delete mail when I tell it to. It will tell me "unable to move message". It used to work fine and I haven't changed any settings that I'm aware of, what could the problem be? Maybe when I upgraded the firmware?

12/7/2008 11:22:21 AM
how much are these things used?
12/7/2008 12:01:40 PM

12/7/2008 12:04:25 PM
I've never had a problem with shazam...it's picked up every song that I've thrown at it...

hijacking this for a sec... can anyone recommend a good FM transmitter? I want to buy one for my buddy, his is starting to fall apart. I use a Monster brand and it has been solid for years but now that I have been shopping around online these things are way more expensive than they should be.
12/8/2008 10:25:01 AM
FM transmitters are going to suck no matter whatwire it up to your aux input
12/8/2008 10:31:54 AM
^what useless post, no where did he say that he cared about the quality, just that they are too expensive and that the one currently is falling apart. of course aux is going to be better, but some people dont really care to do it.^^have you checked http://www.ilounge.com reviews, they're generally well written and pretty spot on. the issue will be getting one that for sure works with your iphone
12/8/2008 12:47:21 PM
okay so I got a 60 day trial of mobileme but when I add the account it says that it will sync my contacts with my computer but all of my contacts are on my phone..what do I do?
12/8/2008 9:16:04 PM
it puts everything on everything, basicallyso yea, it's not going to erase anything. if you're that paranoid, back everything up first in iTunes
12/8/2008 9:22:21 PM
um I definitely just lost all my phone numbers doing that..I hit sync and it took all my names off. argh
12/8/2008 10:04:33 PM
eh..def shouldn't have. hope you backed it up like i said
12/8/2008 10:05:28 PM
luckily I had everything in outlook except for the few numbers I've recently got...but thats not many
12/8/2008 10:16:30 PM
...if you have exchange sync, why do you need mobileme?
12/8/2008 10:19:40 PM
who the hell said anything about exchange?[Edited on December 8, 2008 at 10:23 PM. Reason : exchange!=outlook, dur]
12/8/2008 10:23:26 PM
I don't....I have outlook on my old computer but now that I have a mac which will be my primary computer I wanted to try mobileme
12/8/2008 10:24:22 PM
outlook on mac or PC?
12/8/2008 10:26:44 PM
PC...I never really used exchange right when I got my iphone I thought it would be a smart idea to add all my contacts into outlook just in case..
12/8/2008 10:31:28 PM
yea, i was gonna say there's a mobileme app you can use that will sync everything and would have eventually sent all the contacts from outlook to your phone (after it apparently erased them lol)again, back that shit up in outlook before you mess with it. def not worth losing all your contacts over but that's one of the coolest thing about mobileme or exchange to me. i can just add whatever contact info i get from someone in an email or something to my contacts in outlook and it sends it to my phone. same thing with the calendar.[Edited on December 8, 2008 at 10:33 PM. Reason : and by coolest i mean pretty much the entire point of it.]also, question for everyone else: do you have to have the business data plan for exchange to work?[Edited on December 8, 2008 at 10:35 PM. Reason : 2]

12/9/2008 4:18:28 PM
Another stupid question- is there a way to edit contacts in your phone through iTunes?
12/11/2008 9:33:18 AM
noyou can do it in outlook though if you have that. if you don't have it you can download a free trial from microsoft.. or PM me and i'll eh, make sure you get a "working" copy..
12/11/2008 9:43:23 AM
oh man, more stuff to install this computer is old and tired, im afraid too much more will kill it. i need to pull my music and pictures off of it and wipe it, but things like that arent as easy as they were back in 97 with windows 3.1... i dont even have a windows disc anymore. hell i dont even know what kind of memory this thing takes...
12/11/2008 10:34:38 AM
lol, it isn't gonna kill itbut it sure as shit isn't gonna run fast either probably. and it's easier to pull music and shit off now than it was with 3.1. really all you have to do is reinstall windows--it won't delete your shit unless you tell it to format that partition. it might move it to a different folder and you'll have to move it back but it doesn't delete music/pics during the install.also you can just download the CD from a torrent somewhere--if you have a key then your copy of windows is still legal.

Holy shit warfare Inc. came out!!! Was the best game on palm! Great rts. They're working on 2-4 player multiplayer. If they get it working that's going to be insane. A full-featured RTS multiplayer on iphone/touch! And the add on missions/mods for this game are great. [Edited on December 13, 2008 at 8:59 PM. Reason : .]

12/14/2008 11:24:26 AM
how often do you have it set to check your mail?
12/14/2008 11:45:51 AM
you mean like Fetch New Data?Push is ONFetch is set to Every 15 Minutes
12/14/2008 12:19:03 PM
hm, should be doing it that often then. i've had mine do some weird things like that before though where if i didn't touch it for a few hours it wouldn't check my mail until i unlocked it then it'd do itso yea... 0 help from me
12/14/2008 12:32:25 PM
speaking of which, is gmail ever going to push????
12/14/2008 7:22:26 PM

Joining the club as of yesterday. Of course posting from it now... I heart pandora anywhere
12/15/2008 2:49:11 AM
iPhone nano?
12/15/2008 12:20:24 PM
^lol i don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing...but i'm sure it won't hurt apple's stock.
12/15/2008 5:01:36 PM
If it had the same specs, I would think a smaller iPhone would do better. For the people who want the slick interface, but don't need the larger screen, that would be perfect.Considering too they just bought out PA Semi, I could see them being able to technically do it too.
12/15/2008 5:20:26 PM
About to join the club...couple of questions: Is there a good way to use GPS + maps + speakerphone to navigate yet? Why do I have to pay more a month to use Exchange? Is it worth it to get the 8gb or 16gb (my entire music library is way over either of those, and I don't anticipate watching whole movies on it, and even if I did it would only be one time)?
12/15/2008 7:14:22 PM
12/15/2008 7:17:44 PM
^ surprised more people aren't trying to hack together a primitive navigation app, considering the iPhone is equipped with all the necessary hardware...although I'm sure it's being heavily suppressed by all the GPS manufacturersAs far as the rate, I was in an AT&T store earlier today and as soon as I told them I would be using my hospital Exchange account, they said I would have to pay $45/mo instead of $30 (I'm upgrading a line on FamilyTalk). Scammers?
12/15/2008 7:26:24 PM
don't tell them you're using it. i asked the same question either on this page or a page back and everybody said it would work fine on the regular plan.at worst it doesn't work and you upgrade then.and yea, a real turn by turn navigation app is def high on the list of things apple needs to get implemented.yeah.. like 5 posts up
12/15/2008 7:34:24 PM
ok cool. thanks
12/15/2008 7:48:13 PM
so anyone play warfare inc. yet?
12/15/2008 8:34:25 PM

http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/12/14/microsoft-releases-first-iphone-application-seadragon/this is awesome. photosynth is already really cool, and now you can do the 2d gallery on the iphone/touch.

Did I miss something? Since when do all apps that need updating get updated when you go to update just one? I had 10 apps that needed updating and I updated just one.. Then when I went back to the app store it said all apps are up to date...
