sending warioware and paper mario (not as good as i hoped) back to gamefly. i better get overlord and/or the darkness this go-round. probably end up with the bottom of my list again cuz the entire middle is things coming out in august/sept. GRAW2 and bigs it is.
8/9/2007 10:09:22 PM
if you have gamefly and like getting meaningless achievements, Surf's Up is pretty good...I got 1000 GS in a day or so and mailed it back but its kind of cool if you like Tony Hawk or Cool Boarders / SSX or whatever those snowboarding games are called...similar type scoring and concept of the game but on waterI definitely WOULD NOT BUY THIS GAME but its a cool rental assuming you have the 3 or 4 game at a time deal]

logitech remote was perdy nice tree...how much?
8/9/2007 10:53:45 PM
i think about $100 or $120 maybenot sure, i got it for christmas 2 years ago but it works nice...i dont use it for watching normal tv but you can program it from your computer via USB and i have my 360, CD changer, TV, cable box and DVD player all hooked into it
8/9/2007 11:07:44 PM
^^&^I love my Logitech Harmony remote, best $100 spent, sets everything correctly with one button push.
8/9/2007 11:41:36 PM
I think if TreeTwista was about to fuck Jessica Alba, he'd ask her if it was worth any achievements
8/10/2007 1:16:34 AM
^ LOL
8/10/2007 1:28:16 AM
no doubt cause you never run a game and get all the achievements the first time you just gotta keep hittin that shit
8/10/2007 1:45:20 AM
^HAHA

o...by the way the guy at EB didn't know what the hell I was talking about when I asked him about the HDMI of premium consoles...I said something like "the consoles manufactured after Jul 4th are supposed to have HDMI ports" he said "no, I've opened one up after the 4th and it didn't have HDMI"...and he was the only one in the store so I didn't have the luxury of a second opinion. He also said they are going to make a newer version of the xbox360 sometime before Christmas that will have HDMI and new processors
8/10/2007 10:36:09 AM
people on the internet have more knowledge then eb employees
8/10/2007 10:47:36 AM
just because he opened one after the 4th doesn't mean it was manufactured after the 4thdid you check the date on the xbox?
8/10/2007 11:21:03 AM
Never believe anything said from someone who's paid $7/hr.
8/10/2007 11:29:54 AM
eh....i guess im not so quick to discount the opinions of a huge group of people whose job it happens to be to sell video games and consoles, cause a lot of them play games and keep up with some of the stuff like we do I'd imagine
8/10/2007 11:38:45 AM
bioshock gone gold. wooooo
8/10/2007 11:39:40 AM
The last conversation I remember having with an EB Games/Gamestop employee was him telling me I should pre-order Burning Crusade because Blizzard was only going to release a limited number of copies at a time so as not to over stress their servers. IMO, they are all completely full of shit.
8/10/2007 11:44:50 AM
^well yeah they want you to pre-order everything and get the collector's edition and then get the warranty when you buy it...they're just trying to make moneyi just dont think its so unplausible (implausible?) that a few of them actually do know what they're talking about]
8/10/2007 11:47:45 AM
i got a burning crusadeIN MY PANTS
8/10/2007 11:48:30 AM
they are trained to be deceptive. they always want you to pre-order to 'guarantee' your copy - what a fucking joke. i understand that they got compensation based on commission as well, but should they lie, or be deceptive rather than make an honest case for what you should and should not buy? they are all generally full of shit, and some even lack general knowledge, eg, backwards compatibility for the 360, which i think is a must-know thing. anyway, i have grown to hate game stores because of the bullshit, and do about 95% of shopping online now, unless i feel the need to have a game right then on the spot.[Edited on August 10, 2007 at 11:51 AM. 8/10/2007 11:50:33 AM
they all pretend like they know a lot... but they don't.Sorta like Best Buy or Circuit City employees.
8/10/2007 12:04:32 PM
I agree that most BB and circuit city guys have no fucking clue what they're talking about, but I really think that some EB games ppl do have a good amount of knowledge....SOMETIMES
8/10/2007 2:06:17 PM
In my experience, most of them don't know shit.Whenever they do know something, it's nothing more than what you + I know (ie what you can read on the internet.)What really bugs me about EB/GS employees in particular is that they take all that hearsay and present it as fact. I guess they just feel superior since they have a 'gaming' job, but they LOVE to pretend like they've got the 'inside track', when really they're just repeating what they read on the xbox forum last night.

8/10/2007 9:33:43 PM
the only reason I go into gamestop anymore is to play video games on my lunch break with a guy from work, loli'm sure they hate me because I never buy anything, but until they tell me to stop, I don't care

^^ Thank you very much!
8/11/2007 6:01:01 PM
this thread prompted me to DL a few demos.stranglehold is crazy action, but i dont know how well it would hold up over a few hours. seemed kinda repetitive, but its always fun to blast through watermellons and dive over a counter. diving controls were a bit meh, but it worked.eternal sonata is fucking beautiful though. really shows you what next gen can do in the non-realistic front. fun for a JRPG. i like the ones that require actively paying attention to guard and attack. makes it feel more action oriented even if it is a turn based game.
8/11/2007 6:41:34 PM
stranglehold feels too much like max payne, and hitman. i would be surprised if it scores higher than 7.x by professional reviewers. it has the potential to be scored lower, but thats just my opinion. i mean, it a functional game, and not to bland, but doesn't really do anything new, and seems like a step backwards for the current gen.[Edited on August 11, 2007 at 6:52 PM. 8/11/2007 6:52:27 PM
^yeah i mean the slow-mo is nothing new, it was fun for awhile but like everyone else, worth a rent at somepoint

Mine is downloading...would probably be done when I wake up.
8/12/2007 11:32:59 PM
OK FIRST IMPRESSIONS.I played for like a half hour and it's pretty much indescribable. I mean, absolutely gorgeous, there's just so much art direction and creativity going on it's nuts. I'd be fully content just walking around looking at shit, but sooner than later you start to realize there's a kick ass shooter underneath the hood and ITS ON.I'm so damn happy i picked up the collector's edition b/c this game looks to be the absolute fucking shit. Really guys, download this thing NOW.
8/13/2007 12:50:11 AM
People still pre-order video games?
8/13/2007 12:51:54 AM
^the only realistic benefit that i've noticed of pre-ordering games (even though i didnt take advantage of it) was with madden where pre-ordering allowed you to basically go get it at midnight without having to wait in the line of other people at midnight...most games though theres no purpose...and even madden if you can stand to wait a day or two
8/13/2007 12:55:36 AM
you'd be surprised how quickly madden sells out, last year they had like 20 360 copies and shit was gone easy, when i got mine i think they had like 2 360 copies left and 5 ps2 hall of fame versions
8/13/2007 1:00:48 AM
well you gotta preorder at gamestop/eb to get the collector's edition which comes with soundtrack, big daddy figurine, and dvd about making the game. It's 10 bucks more, but all that shit is worth it imo...at least for fans.
8/13/2007 1:02:12 AM
Now that sounds like a sweet deal, especially the soundtrack, but wouldn't that be available anyway once the game comes out?
8/13/2007 1:11:38 AM
^honestly it depends on the store...like hova was saying some dont stock too many and some might stock more...also depends on concentration of customers at that particular store
8/13/2007 1:52:17 AM
