I assume you have things checked in all of the tabs telling it what to sync?

Stupid question I know, but figured it's worth asking

I had some box checked that says manually manage content or some shit- apparantly that was the hangup. Looks like i will lose a couple apps though (that were bought through the phone and not the computer)

I haven't played Tapdefense but this one has 5 stars and several of the reviews mentioned it being better than Tapdefense. IMO it's pretty great so far.

I've never really wanted to.

I've never NEEDED it, but there's been several times where I wished I had it. Like if I'm trying to post a link to something or if I'm chatting with a friend and I want to send them a link or copy some text or whatever.

Anyway, the question shouldn't be why would you want copy/paste, but why in the world they haven't implemented it yet.

i use c/p at least once a week for sending links or sending someone's txt to me to someone else - i'm surprised it's not implemented yet - it's been quite a while now

the articles about once it finally being implemented will be amusing i think - much like the idea of a 2 button mouse perhaps

have no idea about flash, from what I heard before I got there it was just beef between apple and adobe, both not able to settle, the ball is in both of their courts.. I know apple is worried about battery life with heavy flash usage...

Last I heard, Adobe was wanting to play ball and Apple was the one refusing to bend the rules a little to get it working. Is that not the case?

that's the last thing i've ready as well.. really adobe just needs to say fuck it and release it through cyndia or something and be done with it. the 3G battery life sucks so bad i can't imagine flash making that much difference.

I wonder what the ramifications would be if a "big-name" company like adobe did something like that. Apple would shit a brick I'll bet. Who wouldn't jailbreak their iPhones so they could get working Flash support? I've often wondered the same thing about companies like TomTom. Didn't they supposedly have turn-by-turn software ready to go? I was really thinking it would leak out somehow.

i guess you don't know how battery life works Just because it already sucks doesn't mean its not going to suck significantly more with something like flash. Unless the battery just decides..."hell i already suck no need to make it worse...i'll just use this imaginary charge in my reserve tank."

I meant that as it's so bad I already have to keep a charger around.. so it won't really matter to me.

Of course it will make it even worse.

I don't have any problem with the battery life, my 3G iphone lasts about 2 full days on a charge and that's with pretty heavy usage

"Dear Ignition beta testers:

I know you’ve been waiting anxiously to try out the Ignition for iPhone application. Unfortunately, I don’t have any positive news regarding the beta program. Our dev team is still troubleshooting a bug they uncovered during the process of adding the beta testers’ device IDs to the software, which they have to resolve in conjunction with Apple, and the progress has been slow. The good news, however, is that the final version of the software is nearing completion and we are on target to submit it to Apple for review this month. It’s very likely that the software will be available on the App Store before we are able to resolve the problem with adding beta testers.

That being said, what I’d like to do is offer you a $25 iTunes gift card to show our appreciation for your interest in the beta program, which you can apply to the final version of Ignition for iPhone/iPod touch when it’s available if you so choose. I am sincerely sorry that we were unable to accommodate you in the testing process, as this was a problem we had not anticipated. Should the issue be resolved prior to general release, I’ll certainly circle back."

I haven't tried it out too extensively, but I was at the football game this Saturday and they played a song over the loudspeaker and Shazam was able to correctly identify it even over all the crowd noise and people around me talking and yelling and whatnot. I was pretty impressed.

maybe you go through some dead zones on the interstate, or your office is in a weak signal area, and it's continuously searching for a signal or something. maybe try turning it off when traveling and see if that helps?

isn't the point of a cellphone to have coverage when you aren't at home heh try turning it off....

alternatively you could try a car charger or an inverter

battery all depends on what you're doing. when I don't use it alot except for phone usage it will last me 3 days. Often I have down time at work and use it to play games for 1 or 2 hours combined and the battery is dead by the end of a workday

I'm happy w/the battery as well, auto fetching/push, etc. really hurts battery life, I'd turn those to check less often/off.

Anyway, Shazam is literally amazing for me as well, can pick up songs at a bar type setting no problem, including REALLY obscure stuff. Once it picked up a song over the stereo in my car while driving in traffic w/the windows down and other speech in the background...

I spent one evening just going through the music channels on cable trying to find the most obscure shit like latin pop and swing music and it was able to get 95% of the things I threw at it.

is there some sort of settings i need to tweak with shassam? Because even if its a very well known song it can't pick it up if there is any kind of background noise...almost like it needs a direct line from the source for it to work.

yeah, i have a splitter that splits one cigarette lighter into 3 and also has a USB port--so I can plug the regular USB cable into that and it charges as fast as it does plugged into the wall outlet. for a while though i was driving a company van and kept forgetting to bring that with me. i know it switches between edge and 3G a lot on the trip--not sure if that would be hurting battery life though.

Quote :

you must be.. i haven't found a single song yet that it didn't know. even using it on random songs that are in commercials on tv it picks them up fine

i just go straight down I85 from greensboro all the way to spartanburg so i'm not sure that there's that much dead area..

Quote :

hmm good idea.. i do have it set for every 15 mins for 4 email accounts + push on another one and i'm bad about checking it pretty often while driving. i'd bet that's a lot of the problem--in the office i check it just as much but it's on wifi all day so i guess that's a lot easier on the battery
