I think i've got my eye on halo 3, mass effect, and assassin's creed for the year

nothing else is really jumping out at me...i'm sure i'll have plenty of rentals, but purchases? eh...

bioshock (i have already paid for this in fact), gta iv, are cod4, are definite buys. assassin's creed, hl2-ob, are maybes. medal of honor airborne, and stranglehold are huge maybes. nothing else really appeals to me between the last release of these games and re5. i may go back and rent some of the older games that i have not played yet, eg, condemned.

i've been sitting on Condemned and Quake for forever

I tried to pop in Quake the other week since I was sort of in GOW/COD3 mode and up for an FPS but compared to those two games I was like "this kinda sucks"

Resident Evil 5 is the only upcoming 360 game I'm looking for.

I love the 4 games I got, (Perfect Dark, Full Auto, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and dead rising). I just feel they are coming out with too many shooters and sports/racing games, I have weird tastes in games I guess.

Oh! when is Fable 2 coming out??

So what are some good 4 player games? the only ones I have are GRAW and COD2. I need some other ones, because I play with friends a lot (not including the sequels to those games).

meh most of the 360 games seem much better over live than for 4player splitscreen. just how things are nowadays. games have a lot more going on, which makes splitscreen kinda suck.

might be able to pull a fuzion frenzy or something for parties.

^^^ The problem with FF is that there is a slowdown that wasn't present on the original xbox

For those of you that know the game, there is one mini-game where you are running on a rotating pole, having to either jump or duck to avoid obstacles. The emulation is working so hard (i guess) that the game never really speeds up until about 4 minutes in, which is much longer than the original

I think he's talking about 360 games, as in Fusion Frenzy 2.

But yes, sometimes emulation is a pain. If I played Halo 2, I played it on my old xbox (before I modded it).

Many games work perfectly, however. Ninja Gaiden Black ftw.

Price drop today!

Microsoft has announced incoming price drops to all three tiers of its Xbox 360 console. The price changes will go into effect in the United States this Wednesday, August 8. As previously reported, the standard 20GB Xbox 360 system will drop $50 to $349.99, the Core unit sans hard drive will drop $20 to $279.99, and the 120GB Elite unit will drop $30 to $449.99.

I want that elite.

^^ you dont need a receipt. Your serial number on the system is all they ask for. I am pretty sure when you buy the xbox 360, it gets scanned or something.

So no mailing in a registration?

I think there was an offer for an extended warranty in my box for $59. I assume that's void, but I don't have to mail anything or call anyone?

no, they can base it off the serial number, i think they also used to put on the back when it was manufactured, etc so they'll know how old it is

Clocking in at 400 Microsoft Points, Track & Field will be available to download this Wednesday, August 8 beginning at 9:00 A.M. GMT (2:00 A.M. PDT).

Look for these other hot August releases on Xbox LIVE Arcade:

Even more sizzling summer launches are hitting in the coming weeks:

Geon: Emotions (Eidos): Engage in the unique sport of Geon, where you must master a diverse range of emotions to best your opponents.

Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (D3Publisher of America, Inc.): Addictive and easy-to-learn, this game integrates story and character progression elements found in RPGs delivering a brand new type of game that pushes the puzzle genre to a whole new level.

Space Giraffe (Llamasoft): Created by genre-defining game designer Jeff Minter, Space Giraffe is a psychedelic shooter that spans 100 levels, all set against vivid, pulsating backgrounds that synchronize with any custom music selection.

Streets of Rage 2 (Sega): One of the most popular side-scrolling beat 'em ups of the nineties gets the Xbox LIVE Arcade treatment, complete with enhanced graphics, sound, achievements, and multiplayer modes.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (Capcom): This game combines addictive puzzle action with favorite Capcom fighting characters including Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and Morrigan.

There have been over 45 million Xbox LIVE Arcade game downloads as of July, and the popularity of the service continues to grow. Over 100 games will launch on Xbox LIVE Arcade by year's end, including dozens of original Intellectual Properties and classic titles updated for this generation."

I'm definitely getting the last two.

Also, Bizarre has hinted that there could be a Geometry Wars 2 on 360 in the future. I'm jealous that the Wii gets Galaxies.

I'm probably gonna upgrade to an Elite if I get an HDTV.

That is, unless they put the HDMI port on the Premium (I heard that rumor as well.)
You can get HDMI cables for $10 online and I really don't need a 120GB HD.

I'd also like to know when they are going to start using the smaller, cooler chips.

It looks like they might be discontinuing the Core altogether... I just saw a post (joystiq or kotaku) where a Target employee is showing the computer there and it has the Core listed as 'discontinued'.

This follows a story about 2 weeks ago from a Best Buy employee who also found that the Core was showing up discontinued in the Best Buy system.

Since my bedroom LCD does VGA input, I might just get the premium pack and use VGA. Can you do full 1080p over VGA (if watching an HD-DVD for example?)

Although this is an old game, and may have been mentioned somewhere in the past 61 pages, I have to say that the car customization options in Saints Row are incredible. It's easily the best GTA ripoff I have ever played, in some ways it's better than the original.

But I have faith that GTA can keep up.
