And struggled to win both games against below average teams
3/12/2022 10:51:44 AM
Well the Lakers are also a below average team
3/12/2022 12:12:34 PM
Yep
3/12/2022 2:25:00 PM
I didn't realize the 45-22 Warriors were a below average teammaybe we should instead talk about how Harden sucks in big games]
3/12/2022 3:38:34 PM
Who?Your 2 of last 3 threw me, 2 of last 4. Warriors are indeed good
3/12/2022 4:58:18 PM
LeBron didn't play in one of the Lakers' last 4 games, so it was 2/3 that he played inThough technically the Warriors are about a .500 team without Draymond[Edited on March 12, 2022 at 5:01 PM. Reason : .]

KAT with a pedestrian 56 and 15 with about 5 minutes to go in the 4thhe scored 32 points in one quarter[Edited on March 14, 2022 at 10:52 PM. Reason : .]

This thread is only for me bragging about the Lakers sucking, like scoring 12 pts in a quarter. KAT should prob go in this year's thread

I can't believe someone wasted one of the limited threads on another season of nba

They actually looked pretty good today vs Denver for about 3 quarters (w/ AD and Russ, LeBron was out) but they couldn't sustain it. Shaq says that if they make the play-in tourney and get the 8 seed, that they'd beat Phoenix. I think they'd be lucky to win more than 1 game in that series. But I guess a lot of it still comes down to LeBron's and AD's health.

who on this website thought, as recently as last week, that the Lakers could still do something? i think most people realized awhile ago that this team had underachieved by a lot.
4/6/2022 1:03:00 AM
I mean you entertained the very notion, just two posts up, but I'm just yanking your chain. Everybody knew this Lakers squad was trash, and the last ~24 hours have been schadenfreude on steroids for me
4/6/2022 1:07:59 AM
odds that lebron comes back and plays hero ball in 3 games to secure the scoring title now that they're elimnated?
4/6/2022 1:28:40 AM
I doubt he comes back to play this season. So who brings him on as a guest Analyst during playoffs ESPN or TNT?
4/6/2022 10:31:29 AM
I actually hope he does. Shows what kind of heart and hustle he has for the game, and how much Laker fans mean to him! Also, this is perfection:https://streamable.com/r1zhga

"Doug Gottlieb: “I don’t like to question guys’ injuries. If a guy says he’s ‘hurt’, he’s hurt. I’m not sitting here and telling you that LeBron James is ‘faking’. I don’t think he’s faking an injury and I don’t think he’s a healthy scratch. But what is happening is reprehensible. We’re acting like LeBron’s ankle is too bad for him to play. The last time he played he scored 38 points on 23 shots. I’m not saying he’s faking, I’m sure his ankle hurts. BUT ARE YOU KIDDING ME, HE’S NOT PLAYING?! There are two things at work: 1. he quit on them. They’re not good enough for him, he’s frustrated, and he’s DONE. 2. he’s protecting the scoring title. He’s leading the scoring title by 0.1 points and the more games he plays with Anthony Davis, the more Anthony Davis becomes the focal point. You still have a chance to make the playoffs. It’s a slight chance. LeBron wants to call himself the ‘greatest player of all time’?? The last time he scores 38 and now he doesn’t play these last two games?? What am I missing?? How is that not offensive to anybody else? As a basketball fan, I’m offended by it. I believe LeBron is one of the best ever, but bro, if that’s how you’re wired?? The idea of Willis Reid was ‘I don’t know how healthy I am, I don’t know much I’m going to go, but I’m gonna give it a go. Why? Because it means that much to me.’ You said you were the ‘greatest player of all time’ when you led the comeback against the Warriors, what about now?? Here’s the problem with LeBron James and it’s always been the problem. LeBron wants ALL the credit when they win and NONE of the blame when they lose. There is zero accountability. He doesn’t have to be a miracle worker in his late-30s, maybe he’s unable to get them to the playoffs because of the health of his team, but to sit out the last couple games?? YOU GO DOWN WITH YOUR SHIP. Sitting out is quitting on your team, and I’m not saying his ankle isn’t hurt, but dude, he had 38 the last time he played and it was just two games ago. He may not be able to perform at the level he wants to perform, but the only chance they have at going to the playoffs is winning the rest of their games, and the only chance of them doing that is if LeBron James plays… LeBron comes in, he brings in all his guys, he tries to take over, he gets everybody paid…Financially a total windfall if you’re one of LeBron’s guys and you play well with him, but he destroys your franchise, and he doesn’t really care about your franchise. He didn’t really care about the Cavaliers, didn’t care about the Heat, and doesn’t care about the Lakers. He’s LeBron James. He believes he’s bigger than those franchises. It was definitely true in Cleveland, it was maybe true in Miami, but do you know where it’s NOT true? It’s not true with the Lakers. He’s NOT bigger than the Lakers.”
4/7/2022 9:19:09 AM
i saw something that pointed out that Lebron has sat when the Lakers have played the better defensive teams lately (post-all star break) and how this could definitely be construed as him positioning himself to get the scoring title at the expense of a possible playoff berth. He needs to play 2 more games in order to hit the minimum 58 games for the scoring title, otherwise his total points will still get divided by 58 to determine his average for the title. The Warriors are the highest ranked defensive team left on the schedule so I fully expect James to sit out tonight and play the last two games against a bad OKC team and a good Denver team with a middling defense.kinda shitty, but i think he's smart enough to realize even he couldn't will this team to a title like he has in the past even if they made the play-in game.

I think he posted on April 1 that he was done for the year, in theory as an April fools joke, but.....Also im sorry to the nba 22 thread, my gloating here has caused that one to be ignored

I wouldn't be shocked at all if he just sits it out. The season was an unmitigated disaster and the off season is likely going to be a nightmare, too. But then again we're talking about LeBron, so as I said earlier, I actually hopes he earns the scoring title in the least satisfying way possible: stat stuffing ala Westbrook.
4/7/2022 6:38:14 PM
He gonna get that title
4/8/2022 5:07:29 PM
unless you mean the Sitting Out The Final 2 Games Of The Season Title, no he’s not
4/8/2022 5:42:48 PM
yeah it's not possible for him now, because for him to win it would require Embiid to score negative points pretty much. Because Lebron's total would be divided by 58 games (even though he only played 56, that's the minimum) so thats essentially 2 zero point games for him.]
4/9/2022 12:41:25 AM
It's almost like he actually has an injury!
4/9/2022 1:11:12 AM
legit laughing at a dude posting he’s gonna get the scoring title 4 hours after it came out he was gonna sit the final 2 games
4/9/2022 1:30:45 AM
Westbrook tho
4/9/2022 1:34:08 AM
Hornets are supposedly linked to getting Westbrook. I think it's just some Jordan brand bullshit. It would make zero sense for the Hornets, other than potentially some salary dump if they moved Hayward's 2 remaining years for Westbrook's 1 remaining year.[Edited on April 9, 2022 at 1:57 AM. Vogel won a championship less than 2 years ago.Do you think LeBron is just a player and doesn't heavily influence roster construction?[Edited on April 12, 2022 at 4:47 PM. Reason : .]
4/12/2022 4:42:39 PM
Lebron just ran the bus over him for decisions lebron wanted, imagine this record but Pelinka had ignored lebron
4/12/2022 4:48:23 PM
Yes, Vogel was the scapegoat for this season and missing the play-in tournament, despite winning a title 18 months ago. But this idea that Pelinka is powerless is just hilarious though. As if the Lakers pay him $5 million a year to just do what LeBron says.LeBron obviously wanted Anthony Davis. It sounds like he wanted Russ for some reason. Do you think he handpicked every other player on the roster though?[Edited on April 12, 2022 at 8:20 PM. Reason : .]
