I don't know. Prob 10-15 per week. Maybe a little more sometimes. I don't know exactly, because I don't meter things out with a jigger or one of those Utah clickers...so I'm not sure exactly how heavy I'm pouring...but I'd say 15ish, +/-.

Maybe 2-3 drinks/week. The lowest it’s been since college, I’m sure. Not really an intentional choice. It just doesn’t fit my lifestyle like it used to.

Probably down to 4-8 drinks a month at this point. In 2019, I seriously reduced my overall alcohol intake. Shit will eventually catch up with you.

Greatly reduced. Most days I consume no alcohol. This is a struggle for me, though, because alcohol is a component of a lot of my culture and heritage. (We're from Wisconsin.) My wife has been mostly sober for 5 months now and I'm so proud of her.

HahahaI had a roommate from Madison, WI back like 15-20 years ago. That dude subsisted on beer, sausage, and cheese.

I was born in Madison, Wisconsin. But the place my family is from -- Outagamie County -- is the heaviest drinking county in all of Wisconsin.Highest rate of binge drinking in the country. So I'm working to overcome cultural traditions AND the way I was raised by my parents. They started giving me alcohol when I was an early teenager and I was allowed beer or wine at meals starting at age 15/16. At 17 or 18 I could mix a cocktail but I wasn't allowed to leave the house afterwards.https://www.postcrescent.com/story/news/2021/06/07/alcohol-outagamie-calumet-counties-top-u-s-excessive-drinking/7510658002/

coming up on a year since my last update/bloodwork results.I've been drinking more than I did between march and october of last year when I really cut back, but it's still nowhere near as much as I had been in previous years and I fluctuate from month to month. I don't think it's been excessive, but an updated blood panel will tell the truth. gotta schedule an appointment...

I'm sober, BTW. I think this is what some of your habits look like.

@qntmfred What was your ALT/AST? I had out of normal, 88, ALT. Been monitoring it fairly closely since I saw the elevated number. Seen it high even with no drinking a couple of times. Think mine is more food than alcohol, but iirc with elevated AST means it's probably alcohol. My ALT will go back to normal in 1-2 months of eating well and longer with just slowing down the drinking.Have you had a fibrotest done?I didn't drink most of my 30s but started again in 2019. Mostly wine, then hard liquor then back to wine. I've been on a weekly beer kick lately. Felt beer was too carby and heavy, but feel way better the next day after two beers than half a bottle of wine.

I did dry January last year. Dry January ended up turning into dry February, and March as well. I just got out of the habit of drinking really, and didn't really miss it. I stopped picking up beer at the store, stopped having wine on the rack at home, and the liquor on my bar just sat there collecting dust.I eventually started consuming alcohol again, but much less than before. Now, I may have one drink every couple of weeks? Maybe?I realized that I sleep so much better, my anxiety levels are down. I realized that a few drinks, even if there is no hangover, will leave me in a slightly depressed funk for about a day and a half. Abstaining certainly makes you realize how obsessed this country is with alcohol, and how many people seemingly incorporate it as a routine part of their lives.
