Despite the 22's domination, Michigan was surprisingly good. I had low expectations, but there was a good amount of passing from 2nd on back throughout the race.
6/10/2019 8:44:57 PM
Agree.Going to Sonoma, so I've watched my final DW race. Past time for him to go, but also seems kinda strange to consider.
6/10/2019 8:47:40 PM
I can't say I'm sad to see him go.
6/11/2019 11:30:41 AM
Anyone watching the 24 hrs? Corvette is dominating.
6/15/2019 12:17:01 PM
Yep, been watching since the start. I'm excited about the hypercar rules for the future
6/15/2019 12:49:10 PM
I'll be happy to pull for an Corvette in the future if its Magnussen racing with his dad, Haas said they would be open to it
6/15/2019 12:57:46 PM
The pro am GT is doing well for Ford.
6/15/2019 1:24:33 PM
So much for the 64. Corvettes better car is still running though.
6/15/2019 2:47:56 PM
6/17/2019 12:27:44 PM
I miss the GT1 homologation days and cars like the mclaren f1, mercedes clk-gtr, jaguar xj 220 etc... and hope the new hypercar class brings back some of that excitement and brings some of the hypercars on the market into le mans
6/17/2019 1:12:04 PM
Eh, I'm a bit whatever on GT1s. They're not really production cars, their just prototypes. You look at for example the Toyota GT-One which is one of the most amazing racecars in history that never won anything, and the notion it was a production-based car was complete bullshit (one example is out there actually, for reverse you have to push it backward reportedly). "Hypercars" are about as much production as an F1 car.Apparently the ACO dithered forever on them and that lost them Ford. Toyota threw down an ultimatum of "you will publish regulations now" and that's why what came out did. Love sportscars but the manufacturer influence destroys the sport in some ways. Kind of wish it was like motorcycle racing (admittedly it's own big can of worms) where the manufacturers are there and throw their weight around, but there are way more participants. More participants also means simpler and/or cheaper race cars. Alonso is going to say he's a Le Mans 24 Hours winner to his grave and admittedly so, but he didn't beat anybody except for a team car that conveniently did not get fueled late in the race requiring it to circulate very slowly for 10 minutes. Most of my time watching sportscar racing was the Audi went unchallenged and won every year era. The top class is just not that entertaining compared to the other classes save maybe 2 to 3 years out of 15.[Edited on June 17, 2019 at 1:47 PM. Reason : .]
6/17/2019 1:32:03 PM
And while we're still on the sports car topic the 68 Ford GT (GTE Pro 4th) and 85 Ford GT (GTE AM Winner) have both been disqualified for illegal fuel cells.
6/17/2019 6:36:55 PM
^^ manufacturers aren't interested in lmp1 prototypes, hypercars should bring more manufacturers back to racing
6/17/2019 8:13:43 PM
From my Unofficial Rules of Auto Racing:
6/17/2019 9:52:05 PM
^^^ if you require someone to change fuel limits for bop there should be a calibrated setup available to do that

They're runnin the carousel at Sonoma this weekend! A few Busch and cup guys runnin the k&n race Saturday. Nice[Edited on June 18, 2019 at 7:45 AM. Reason : G]
6/18/2019 7:45:32 AM
good weekend:win for watermelon boy at gatewaygragson puking after winning K&ndeegan won pole for k&ni was entertained during cup race. i would do away with stages at road coursed but since thats not happening i like how stage points divides up the pit strategery, otherwise all the cars would pit 2 laps before end of stage
6/26/2019 6:43:03 AM
first win for bowman! hendrick teams seem to have found something for down force tracks. goodready for the firecracker 400!
7/3/2019 5:54:13 AM
Bowmans been good. He was due. About time someone other than the 9 is decent with Hendrick. Its been a good long while
7/3/2019 8:38:44 AM
BK out there wreckin bitches in practice. were talking about practice. not a race. practice
7/5/2019 6:13:13 AM
Hes trying to send a message...in practice....on a guy that wasnt even blocking him....when hes one of the more notorious blockers in the sport...at a track where you have to block to maintain a lead. I fully expect him to pick a lane saturday night if he gets to the front and not move side to side to keep himself at the front...right?
7/5/2019 8:58:19 AM
^lead car can't block both lanes anymore. They're using the tapered spacer and high drag so runs come too fast[Edited on July 5, 2019 at 9:40 AM. Reason : But yes everyone blocks at Daytona]
7/5/2019 9:38:02 AM
Alonso dumped McLaren
7/5/2019 11:12:05 AM
Daytona still sucks.[Edited on July 7, 2019 at 3:14 PM. Reason : Wish they would just make these exhibition races. What a joke. ]
7/7/2019 3:06:41 PM
Super speedway racing sucks. Theres about 3 undamaged cars at the end of every race now. Its pathetic
7/7/2019 3:47:19 PM
^,^^ yeah the fall race at daytona should be 400km on the road courselol at 1 car losing race due to a 1 lap to go just kidding fake out by nascar[Edited on July 7, 2019 at 6:02 PM. Reason : s]
7/7/2019 6:00:24 PM
the 77 winning was the perfect cap to a shitshow of a superspeedway weekend. the only way it would've been better would have been if their piece of shit car had failed inspection and the 24 had got the double piss-in playoff berth.
7/7/2019 9:56:16 PM
7/8/2019 8:56:03 AM
Unless he becomes best buds with harvick and tony stewart, ala Bowman, hes not gonna win another cup race unless lightning strikes twice.
7/8/2019 12:22:49 PM
KY wasnt that bad really other than the crap shoot GWC allowing the best car to lose 6 spots in 2 laps.
7/15/2019 7:05:18 PM
great race at NH, thats what stock car racin supposed to be: hard on the brakes, roll the center and try to put the throttle down without spinning the tires [Edited on July 21, 2019 at 7:28 PM. Reason : s]
7/21/2019 7:28:05 PM

I wanted to see Hamlin confronted by a lobster again. The no-call on Erik Jones was as confounding as the black flag for Byron last week. Consistently inconsistent.
7/21/2019 9:00:49 PM
I don't think it's against the rules to drive over the commitment cone orange square and not go down pit road. It's only a violation if you don't get under it and then pit.
7/22/2019 9:31:38 PM
^or go under it and dont pitthey changed the rules couple years ago and a lot of fans and even spotters didnt know.
7/23/2019 5:17:14 AM
4 wheels under and no pit - penalty<4 wheels under and pit - penalty<4 wheels under and no pit - no penaltyright?
7/23/2019 12:29:40 PM
should be as simple as touch it and it's a penalty. But NASCAR has to Nascar it up.
7/23/2019 4:58:19 PM

this would be awesome:https://racer.com/2019/07/23/insight-could-a-nascar-indycar-double-header-really-work/?utm_source=smg&utm_medium=wasabi&utm_content=home-heroi'd love to see a double header with indy but the comments about length and temperatures are reasonable, if they do this they should make it a race weekend or do sprints or something. i didn't know watkins glen had imsa double headers with indy.
7/24/2019 12:10:12 PM
It'd have to be a Saturday Sunday deal.
7/24/2019 1:01:26 PM
The iRacing all star race is on now, NBCSN
7/25/2019 5:40:23 PM
It wasnt bad, the finish was actually pretty good. They even did the PiP during commercials and have replays and everything.I'll watch it, but I watch other iRacing already so not sure how the typical fan would like it
7/25/2019 5:46:53 PM
Pocono Doubleheader. Just another silly move by NASCAR. This will be a disaster, if it rains. Doubleheaders work in sports car racing because they have rain tires and they end the race when the clock runs out.https://racer.com/2019/07/27/poconos-double-header-plan/?fbclid=IwAR3f80yEtDFi9zvRNpLe1qsE0khUzrQRCvtDK5GOIeoTX6RizdaI0L97Tc0[Edited on July 27, 2019 at 5:28 PM. ^2020 could be the last season with pocono having 2 races. its better to get them over with on the same weekend and not have to go back 6 weeks later90 busch car pulled a juan pablo:https://youtu.be/FDX9zNsdFe8
7/28/2019 11:54:29 AM
pocono was actually pretty good today for a change
7/28/2019 7:38:29 PM
Wasn't able to watch since I was driving, but listened on MRN and it sounded like a decent race.
7/29/2019 8:16:30 AM
i'm surprised non of the teams not locked into the playoffs arent putting dingalings or another road course ace in their car at the first stage break this weekend[Edited on August 1, 2019 at 4:25 PM. Reason : s]

Most of the full time top drivers do better than "ringers".
8/2/2019 4:09:52 PM
yeah, but i don't think he was talking about top drivers. it would make sense to pull someone like buescher or mcdowell.
