Watched the Tyreek Hill video..not sure why everybody is making a big deal out of this one. He was just plain obstinate and didn’t listen to the cops. I don’t see anything they did that was wrong. All he had to do was roll the window down, talk to the cops with some sense and decency, and go on with his day. Instead, he decided to be obistinate, likely had the “WTF I’m a star here” going on in his head, and let it get out of control.

$2,500 car or $310,000 car, it doesn't matter. Cops need to respect your property. I watched a few different angles and he only appears to be knocking aggressively on glass, but he does shove the door upward. Cops destroying property in illegal or legal seizures is a huge problem. Imagine a cop impounding your car under false pretenses and then it getting major damage by a tow truck. The owner is surely paying for that damage with no recourse for what occured.

Nuance clearly isn't possible in these discussions.

I'm just saying, admittedly as a non-famous super-white person, that I fail to see the reasonable threat to property by knocking on a glass window with a gloved hand to get someone's attention in the footage I watched with my own eyes. This seems to be a rather stupid source of escalation. It wasn't like knocking on the window with keys or a knife or the butt of a gun that would be both threatening and a potential source of scratches. If you aren't a panhandler, feel free to come knock on the glass windows of my car to get my attention as needed. I am not afraid of potential damage.
