IIRC there was a season, maybe 10 years ago now, where we could have made it into an ACC championship game by beating Maryland in the last game of the season and of course we lost.

Like we do.

Beating a down FSU and down Louisville team raised the hopes this year. Shoulda known better than to get sucked into that trap again. Still, this is the best State has been in a while. Losing to good teams close - still losing though.

Playoff spots were not on the line in those games. It was today. The ACC was all but out of the playoffs if we won this game so the refs were instructed to make it difficult. Even if that is all crazy talk, Clemson got every. single. call and even the calls they didn't get got inexplicably overturned.

Pretty interesting to look at the win probability timeline. According to win probability, we had a 64% chance of winning after finley's run got us into the redzone with about 2 minutes left in the first half. after the wildcat run with samuels for no gain it had gone down down to 52%.
