Our schedule will still be filled with some better offenses. Good offenses:South CarolinaFSULouisville Syracuse Talented teams breaking in new QBs that will still be good on offense:ClemsonUNCNDClemson, UNC, and ND all have loads of talent and by the time we play them their starting QBs will have at least 6 games to get it going. UNC replaces the most but that offense is designed to put up points and they have enough talent at the skill positions that even an average QB will put up good numbers(see: M. Williams).
5/11/2017 4:54:49 PM
it will be interesting to see how good UNC is on offense this year. They lost pretty much all their skill position starters on that side of the ball.
5/11/2017 4:59:19 PM
They have to guard us too, pal
5/11/2017 4:59:26 PM
^^^I don't know what you mean by the Marquis Williams comment, he started over the #2 pick!!!
5/11/2017 7:33:44 PM
Haha, yeah, and Mike Glennon was going to start over Russell Wilson too. Not even going over the Williams/Trubisky deal, Fedora played that brilliantly but it burned him because Trubisky he had a big year and got drafted early. It's like saying TJ Warren was the 6th best player on our team because he didn't start as a true Freshman.
5/11/2017 9:05:22 PM
Are you saying that Fedora plays favorites and is a great recruiter but a terrible coach?
5/11/2017 9:20:53 PM
Whoever said our defense was only bad against ecu last year must have forgotten the Louisville game. Unless I am forgetting something and our offense turned it over a bunch.
5/11/2017 9:49:33 PM
You didn't forget... we got beat like we owed UL money. That was probably the most thorough demolition I've seen us take ever. I think he may have been giving us a pass as that also seemed to be one of jacksons best games of the season. No idea. We got the brakes beat off that game.
5/11/2017 9:52:50 PM
Matt Dayes signed with the Browns!
5/11/2017 9:56:26 PM
To a guaranteed contract? If not I'm not sure how that's news
5/11/2017 10:09:30 PM
5/12/2017 7:51:16 AM
^agreed on all counts
5/12/2017 10:14:58 PM
Dylan Parham apparently moving from QB to TE
5/23/2017 8:37:02 PM
Yeah his HS stats always seemed like he was more of a runner than a passer, but just assumed he had garbage to work with at WR. Also sounds like staff is his on McKay so Parham making a position change was likely the only way he'd see the field. Hopefully Marcus Stone 2.0.
5/24/2017 8:06:57 AM
Should have kickoff time announced today for NCSU vs South Carolina...FWIW: 99% positive it's going to be 3:30PM in Charlotte.
5/24/2017 9:06:13 AM
win total O/U (from one place) posted at 7.5 for us.http://www.backingthepack.com/nc-state-football/2017/5/22/15675622/nc-state-football-over-under-at-7-5-winsseems roughly about right.if you just think about which games we'll be favored in...SC, Furman, Marshall, @Wake, Cuse, @BC, UNC...that puts us at 7 wins there and i'd think there's a chance we're favored @pitt. obviously being favored =/= a win necessarily, but if you're making an educated bet/guess on how many games we'll win it's a good place to start.
5/24/2017 9:15:11 AM
I read where we are favored in 9 games according to FPI
5/24/2017 10:31:34 AM
8+ regular season wins and .500 or better in the ACC would be a successful season and continue to show we're building. Winning 1 of Clemson, @FSU, and UL would be a pretty important step too.
5/24/2017 11:08:27 AM
^^yeah that's what the BTP link says. not exactly "favored" but "win probability. i think that'll differ from what vegas actually says...for example that gives us a 50% chance of beating UL. i don't think that would translate to us being favored vs UL. ^ i pretty much agree
5/24/2017 11:53:00 AM
https://athlonsports.com/college-football/acc-football-2017-all-conference-teamathlon's preseason all-acc teams...jaysam and tony adams are first team offense.bradley chubb first team defense.bj hill is 4th team defense. nyheim hines is 3rd team offense and 4th team (jeez that's too many teams) specialist.
5/25/2017 9:47:08 AM
I'm surprised they have Hines listed as an all-purpose back since he's kind of making that transition this year from mainly WR the last 2 years. I actually expected him to be ranked higher at KR than RB. Glad Tony Adams is getting his recognition, that dude has been so consistent and good on our OL for years. I think you could put BJ Hill higher than 4th team too, but man, the DL talent in the ACC is absolutely ridiculous. Chubb finally getting some preseason recognition, hopefully he still plays with a chip on his shoulder. You could tell last year he felt slighted by not being All-ACC. Love that Samuels and Hines are just "All Purpose Backs", should be fun to watch all the ways we use them this year. Samuels should just be listed as "badass on offense."
5/25/2017 10:19:53 AM
Chubb came back for a reason
5/25/2017 10:34:55 AM
yeah BJ Hill really is underrated in general...he's been really good for us. but the DL in the ACC is pretty loaded.
5/25/2017 10:47:36 AM
kickoff announced for 1st 3 games:South Carolina 3 p.m.Marshall - 6 p.m.Furman - 12:20 p.m.

i think acc network extra can be watched through watchespn...so not TV but if you have a login you can watch
6/1/2017 12:18:09 PM
Yep, the ACC Network Extra is on WatchESPN.
6/1/2017 2:23:01 PM
And some people don't have reliable high speed internet access available at their homes (thanks Obama.)Hence why I said NOT ON TV.Also bars aren't going to have it either.
6/1/2017 2:25:14 PM
sorry dude
6/1/2017 3:49:53 PM
I'm pumped for 6pm.
6/1/2017 3:51:52 PM
^^you should be sorry, it's all your fault.Really i just found it interesting that the Marshall game isn't televised but Furman is.

6/6/2017 10:49:45 PM
Anyone done the online parking/seating yet? I go Friday. I suspect I'll be parking in Sanford.
6/7/2017 8:46:05 AM
^yes, I picked on 5/19. Really easy. I was worried but I was able to get the same parking spots ive had for 10+ years. Where do you usually park?
6/7/2017 8:55:44 AM
I did mine yesterday. Was really streamlined. I liked the Weedon lot last year for the short walk and there were plenty left in there.
6/7/2017 12:24:42 PM
wearing these vs ULhelmets look pretty great imo. i think i like the jerseys, but it's harder to tell in the video where they didn't have a full, clear shot of the entire jerseyhttps://twitter.com/PackFootball/status/872551695007526912

Can knock it all you want, but recruits love that kinda stuff. General feedback has been positive, but overall everyone agrees Adidas is just on a level below Nike and UA with these type of deals.

^^Hines started playing more RB last year and based on what Doeren and Hines have said, I think he'll be our starting RB. He was a 4* RB out of HS after all. I imagine he'll be a little like Montgomery for the Packers and David Johnson for the Cardinals. He'll get motioned out a lot, run a lot of tosses/sweeps, and take a few normal hand-offs on draws just to keep the D guessing. It's going to be about touches more than carries for Hines as I see Hines and Samuels having a very high usage rate if they can stay healthy. Going to benefit Finley a ton with the short passing game we'll utilize with so many mismatches using Hines and Samuels. I think Gallaspy will get a solid number of carries, but with our recent RB recruiting we really seem to want to go with more of an all-purpose back(Collins last year, Pennix and Person this year), so could just be a shift in our scheme.

^i'm not really disagreeing. i guess just quibbling over the wording, that's all.
6/15/2017 12:30:36 PM
I dont give a shit how we do. I have great parking; that's all that matters
6/15/2017 3:40:15 PM
The thought of cycling Samuels, Hines, and Gallaspy around the backfield (or hopefully all together ) actually has me pretty excited. If that's what ends up happening.
6/15/2017 6:21:45 PM
Yup. Dayes was a beast but I think this backfield will be more dynamic. Not sure any of them can replace Dayes' rushing numbers, but I'm not sure we'll have to with the versatility and depth. Hell, Dakwa Nichols has shown flashes in his limited time. Don't think we'll need him much, but if he's our 3rd or 4th option back there, we could do a lot worse than him.
6/15/2017 6:38:11 PM
6/15/2017 7:56:52 PM
Yeah that's not what happened the last couple years. We just didn't get him the ball.
