That and austin powers 2 about the only sequels better than the first.
5/28/2021 10:02:51 PM
you could argue The Godfather and Star Wars
5/28/2021 11:09:48 PM
Fair enough and star wars is gay(imo)
5/28/2021 11:21:35 PM
Could not really get into Army of the Dead. It was certainly watchable, but I don't get the hype surrounding it.
5/29/2021 11:15:57 AM
GarfieldorThe One Where Jennifer Love Hewitt Runs Around in a Short Skirt for Eighty Minutes
6/5/2021 11:31:26 PM
Shit now i gotta go watch Garfield. It honestly can't be worse than her TV show ghost whisperer
6/6/2021 11:09:22 PM
Army of the Dead is enjoyable. But at 2.5 hours it's a little long.Conjuring Devil Made Me Do It is garbage. Wild Mountain Thyme is fine.
6/7/2021 9:12:02 AM
Spiral is the worst movie I've seen in years.
6/7/2021 10:11:40 AM
Smaller indie movie called Kid Detective is decent, a sort of dark comedy/whodunit
6/7/2021 10:14:15 AM
^I’ve heard good things, is it streaming somewhere?
6/7/2021 1:40:37 PM
I liked Vivarium.
6/7/2021 2:47:59 PM
^^I'm the last person on the planet with a Netflix DVD subscription so I got it there but it looks like it's on Starz or Directtvhttps://www.justwatch.com/us/movie/the-kid-detective
6/7/2021 3:07:19 PM
Watched Working Man due to RT rating. Don't follow my lead.
6/7/2021 4:28:03 PM
^^ You are not alone. There are dozens of us! Dozens!
6/7/2021 7:24:13 PM
Hell yea! What keeps you? For me it's a 400 long q of mostly obscure movies that i SWEAR I want to watch(psst it always takes me forever to decide the next movie bc many of these movies feel like homework a wannbe snob young me gave to present me that just wants fun and escape, don't tell anyone)
6/7/2021 8:14:26 PM
My queue is only 16 deep right now. Mostly I keep it for movies and shows that aren't available for streaming (or at least aren't available on a service I'm willing to pay for).[Edited on June 8, 2021 at 12:34 AM. Reason : 17 deep -- I added Kid Detective]
6/8/2021 12:18:55 AM
Wait, Netflix still does physical DVD subscriptions?
6/8/2021 10:59:39 AM
Hell yea! It's mostly a huge waste of money but I can't quit it!
6/8/2021 11:14:28 AM
lol, I received a "Happy Anniversary A Tanzarian" email from Netflix today.I've rented 772 DVDs since 2009 and 94 DVDs over the past 12 months.2009-2020: 56.5 DVDs per year, 4.71 per month, 1.18 per week2020-2021: 94.0 DVDs per year, 7.83 per month, 1.96 per week
6/9/2021 2:18:08 PM
Either Netflix or the post office has messed up my strategy. Used to be you could watch something Sunday night and if it was in the mail Monday, you'd have another Wed. Watch that one and mail Thurs another one Saturday. That would get me my 2 a week. Lately those shipping times have been off so my average is way down. Plus I've been getting movies I'm less enthused about so sometimes they sit.One proof of my age is I won't do anything more than like 2 hrs anymore unless I'm really eager. Nobody got time for that!
6/10/2021 11:08:09 AM
optical media lol
6/10/2021 11:08:38 AM
We went to the cinema to see A Quiet Place Part II.i'll tell you what's not a quiet place anymore... the movie theater. It's like everyone forgot the social norms and rules of being in a movie theater. Casual conversations, phone usage, it really ruined the experience. Also the movie itself just felt like a 90 minute expansion to the original. You don't learn anything new about the characters or the monsters. It was kind of disappointing.
6/11/2021 9:47:53 AM
I mean can you blame people? Sure it sucks, but everybody has been watching movies at home for a year, without anybody else to worry about. They're bringing that behavior with them. I'm afraid covid has killed the movie going experience. But shit this was a problem beforehand. Every movie I attended prior to covid, there were always assholes with their phones out, talking, kicking the back of my seat, etc. People just suck. And you....you know you who are...you who very loudly opens the box of goobers/m&m's/other random candy boxes VERY loudly....you suck.
6/11/2021 10:58:46 AM
Less of a problem in those recliner sofa theaters imo
6/11/2021 11:58:29 AM
Everything will be optical soon, getting those to fiber lines lain!
6/11/2021 3:34:34 PM
6/11/2021 6:49:15 PM
It's all optical ball bearings these days.

In the Heights was just not very good[Edited on June 12, 2021 at 11:19 PM. Reason : .]
6/12/2021 11:19:13 PM
If The Cannonball Run was good, it would be It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.
6/14/2021 12:50:41 PM
^^Really? did you like the musical before?
6/14/2021 1:48:23 PM
I haven’t seen the musical.I thought the music was pretty one dimensional and simplistic. The story was meh (Nina’s arc is pretty ridiculous, the whole lottery ticket being the ticket to escape is a terrible “lesson”). Some good scenes mainly when they had great choreography (“$96,000”, and ”The Club”) but overall I thought it was a slog.
6/15/2021 1:06:49 AM
Watched about half of the original Parent Trap with my kiddo this evening.Holy shit, what a fucked up premise.
6/20/2021 12:17:00 AM
Lol that's when you tell your kid that they're actually a twin and you divorced their mom soon after they were born and you both got custody of one child.]
6/20/2021 12:33:43 AM
"You know how you've always wanted a sibling?"We talked about gold digging women instead.
6/20/2021 12:52:20 AM
I enjoyed The Kid Detective and would recommend it to anyone with a Netflix DVD plan.
6/21/2021 3:41:07 PM
So we finished The Parent Trap.Spoiler:The girls got their parents back together by convincing their man-child gentlemen rancher father that their mother's motherliness didn't detract too much from her hotness. Motherly and womanly appear to be mutually exclusive in The Parent Trap universe.
6/22/2021 1:35:50 AM
6/22/2021 10:32:21 AM
kind of corny but I enjoyed Now You See Me as well as part 2
6/29/2021 3:49:41 PM
The Tommorrow War was ok
8/2/2021 10:41:53 AM
There is more extensive talk on that subject in the Amazon thread, if that interests you
8/2/2021 12:19:18 PM
loved "The Green Knight"it was a beautiful visual poemdoesn't surprise me that it scored so high with critics and scored only like 57% with audiences, tho
8/2/2021 1:47:25 PM
The Green Knight looks very interesting.
8/2/2021 4:05:28 PM
F the haters. Jungle Cruise is awesome.
8/3/2021 10:06:59 AM
Where did you see The Green Knight
8/3/2021 11:10:59 AM
Cinebistro in Cary on Sunday at noon. There were 4 total people in the theater.
8/4/2021 8:41:11 AM
Wow. I just don't see the theater industry coming back. 4 people?
8/4/2021 10:33:41 AM

Trying to think if there could be any other reason for sparse attendance in that theater hmmmm
