Well...Barber did miss some layups and free throws...pretty much causing us to lose the game.

Other people could have stepped up...but we got good games out of Warren, Washington, and Turner. Barber plays an average game and we win this game by a couple points.

In those types of plays you give the team/players options. Like..."we'll run a play to get Turner open...if he's open, hit him for the three. Ralston...if you get the ball and you're covered, pass it back and..."

The screen[s] to get Turner open took a bit too long to develop, but he also should have given it right back when he saw that he was covered. I like that Turner has the balls to take the three with a hand in his face...but he was waayyy too covered this time and should have checked back a little bit on his "confidence".

I felt like he had no chance because of the shitty game he was playing. This isn't a fucking ACC championship or tourney game. These kids have played a million games before they reach this point and have had plenty of pressure packed moments. He got his shit pushed in tonight and never recovered. I guarantee you that if he had 16 points on 6-10 shooting up that point, he would have sunk those fts. He had an off night...end of story.

I don't think we need Cat to bring it every night to be successful in the ACC...but when we go against long athletic guards...he can't have a horrible game. Lewis is a placeholder out there against tall/athletic guards...especially when he's not hitting his three. Cat at least needs to be a threat.

It's also worth noting that gott plays warren more first half minutes than thibodeau would and this isn't the first game he's ran out of gas. It's a tough trade off because our offense is garbage without him but he isn't going to be able to go full games when he can't rest on defense against a low major

warren was 1-6 on the night although i'd rather go down with my big guns, plus warren can get his shot off against anyone

I like Lee's ability to create but 3s arent really his forte either

we shouldve run screens for either turner or warren as a dummy and gotten a quick 2 with the screener. then fouled one of mizzou's shitty FT shooters instead of letting them get the ball uncontested, wait 5 seconds because of freshmen, then foul a 86% shooter

Lorenzo was a pretty bad three point shooter for us. Not abysmal...but didn't exactly "operate as a perimeter shooter" for us.

the ucla offense is a little outdated in today's game. gottfried runs it really well, and it's still a great offense for the college game but it's designed around getting easy buckets at the rim and pop out jumpers (kyle washington/deshawn painter style). the problem is it's very heavy on 2 pointers and the washington/painter shot is the worst shot in basketball. it really needs some help evolving to fit today's game where 3s are such a big part of having successful offense

it's sort of like when the panthers put all their chips into having a beast running game in an nfl where every fucking rule change for 10 straight years was to benefit passing
