^^ We're going to watch it tonight. She's a teacher and we went out and got trashed last night to celebrate the start of her summer.I don't think she's going to be able to handle it.

i have been waiting for this moment basically since the beginning of the season. i was seriously stressed about it and shaking my leg since the episode began. after it was over i felt......i don't know. it happened pretty much like it did in the book but i just felt like it all happened so quickly i didn't get a chance to take it all in. i'll have to watch again and see if it changes my mind.we are watching with a friend who hasn't read the books and so after the episode was over he was like "Jesus can one of the lannisters just die already! i dont care who!" i just had to sit there and try not to make an expression because he haaaates when i spoil something even if it's just with an inadvertent facial expression[Edited on June 3, 2013 at 12:12 PM. 6/3/2013 1:45:40 PM

lez b honest. we've been waiting and wishing to see joffrey die since season 1 and/or book 1 [Edited on June 3, 2013 at 2:17 PM. Reason : ]

In the books, Jaime and Brienne don't get back to King's Landing until after the Royal Wedding. I'm really not sure what else is supposed to happen. Part of me thinks Tywin and Joffrey will bite it in the next episode but I'm really not sure.I guess they could just stick to the Wall and Stannis and maybe out Jorah as a Varys spy. <shrug>[Edited on June 3, 2013 at 2:37 PM. This is exactly what I'm talking about with the warg/bran/jojen thing. I know I'm hung up on this too much, but whatever.http://www.reddit.com/r/gameofthrones/comments/1fl5fn/s3e9_bad_luck_bran_totally_having_his_thunder/cabe24aAlso someone pointed out that Bran was already comfortable with taking over Summer on a regular basis and hunting before the deal with Hodor happened.

no way any lannisters die next week. there hasn't been enough buildup for the royal wedding. they want everyone to marinate on the lannister's "winning" in the offseason. the episode will probably consist of grey wind's head on robb's body, jon's return to the wall, the night's watch sending letters out about the imminent wildling invasion, bran venturing beyond the wall, joffrey tormenting sansa, and danaerys taking control of yunkai.
6/3/2013 3:33:03 PM
i wish they had shown more references to jon, robb, & arya being wargs as well

I wonder if TV watchers will be content to wait for at least 3 more seasons before Dany does anything (if she ever does) in Westeros.
6/4/2013 2:11:33 PM
If the walking dead is still getting renewed then I assume people will watch anything after one decent season.
6/4/2013 2:38:19 PM
I think the TV show will make Dany's story more interesting than the book did. The books problem was not that it wasn't interesting...it's that it dragged on for so fucking long. The tv show will more than likely cut out the boring shit and just focus on the interesting stuff.

So, is the Game of Thrones series completely written?
6/4/2013 3:14:27 PM
real answer: norealistic answer: yes[Edited on June 4, 2013 at 3:16 PM. Reason : GRRM will probably die before he finishes another book]
6/4/2013 3:15:45 PM
^^GRRM (the original author) has told the show producers how it should end, so it's not written per-se, but the general direction has been determined.
6/4/2013 3:26:59 PM
he needs to get on the treadmill before he dies of a heart attack

I find that fat nerds write the best fantasy novels, so I'd prefer he stay fat.

in case you don't read the show thread, this is pretty much the most perfect thing i can think of to describe that episode[Edited on June 4, 2013 at 5:44 PM. Reason : $$$]
6/4/2013 5:19:14 PM
I'm not sure if any of you read the books when they originally came out (I didn't), but I imagine a lot of the hate for Dany's story comes from the long as fuck wait between ASOS and ADWD (11 years). To wait that long for her to still be Essos and no closer to Westeros than she was at the end of ASOS must have been horrible. Having read all the books back to back, it wasn't that bad and I enjoyed the majority of her story in Mereen.[Edited on June 4, 2013 at 6:35 PM. Reason : :]
6/4/2013 6:34:27 PM
yeah i read 1-4 right when I heard HBO was picking up the book and my wait for ADWD was not that long
6/4/2013 10:27:41 PM
Martin has admitted that he wrote himself into a corner with daenerys in mereen, which is why she spent an entire book there without anything happening. Hopefully in the next book she fucks up khal jhoqo and gets herself a proper khalasar again before heading back to pick up her other army at mereen and fuck up the yunkai/volantis army. Meanwhile aegon will quietly add dorne and start conquerong westeros. Series ends with aegon having westeros and dany rules essos. Valyrian freehold reborn (and i think we will see some character travel to the ruins of valyria)
6/4/2013 10:56:41 PM
^ that sounds terriblealso, from the other thread: Robb Stark writes a note declaring Jon Snow his heir to the north before the red wedding, unfortunately nothing will happen with this story point considering they didn't add it to the show.
6/4/2013 11:33:01 PM
That was the high point of both the book and the show. Gonna suck until the fat ass figures out what he is doing
6/5/2013 12:36:03 AM
My hbo on demand didn't add the episode or my roommate deleted it. Gah

6/5/2013 10:31:03 AM
If you thought this season was boring, good luck for the next two.
6/5/2013 11:12:01 AM
I still liked it, but last season was a little faster paced.I also don't think you can accurately predict that the next seasons will be boring/slow because of the books. I think they're going to [have to] condense a lot...especially with Dany. I have faith that the show creators will be able to keep everyone's attention.
6/5/2013 11:16:16 AM
Tyrion made it over to Essos in a couple of chapters. The only thing that Dany needs to do is find and or build ships and she is in Westeros
