You know as well as anyone that Miami and Dallas aren't in the south. Just like LA isn't. San Diego isn't. I'll give you NO, but it's 70th in North America. Atlana is 11.Speaking of 11, lets get back on topic, 11-1 bitches[Edited on April 15, 2013 at 12:36 AM. Reason : D]

They aren't in the south by what standards? Wow. Not to go into this, but Texas definitely had Austin on the list of "Tastiest Towns" in Southern Living magazine that's floating around Facebook these days...
4/15/2013 12:36:02 AM
I can't argue with the Southern Living Maxim of Geographic Locating. Welcome to the south Compton, Phoenix, Albuquerque, and Laredo
4/15/2013 12:38:10 AM
You implying Jaybee doesn't have the list of "Tastiest Towns" memorized?
4/15/2013 12:40:24 AM
No shit, my summer vacation is built around it
4/15/2013 12:42:16 AM
We'll just agree to disagree, and though it's clear he didn't get the memo that I don't live in Raleigh nor care about it's overall image or whatever, I still wouldn't take a job paying double what I make to live in Atlanta. To keep it topical; nor ever cheer for the Braves ever again. Mundane, National League bullshit in a city with no personality whatsoever, held Michael Vick in high regards at one point, etc etc. It's like you go to sports bars and order pitchers, and your class comes directly from a West Elm catalog. Do you think your opinion of that city is more valid than any outsider's? Damn dude....
4/15/2013 12:46:22 AM
I've lived in Atlanta, can I be a braves fan? Plus like, if you really wanted to disparage the organization I would bring up the steroid use. Maybe it's just because I'm a fan but I'm pretty sure a large percentage was on them, and obviously ignored, maybe even encouraged.
4/15/2013 1:19:27 AM
^we've already established that he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. why would you give him that much credit???
4/15/2013 6:45:19 AM
I loved the "I pull for my hometown so it's makes more sense than you pulling for a team out of state!" view, haha.Your team came back in 1998. Many of us grew up in NC, where we didn't, and still don't, have a baseball team. Guessing most of the Braves fans here grew up with parents pulling for the Braves, thus most of us pulled for our team at least 8 years longer than you pulled for the Nats. Why would I switch affiliations after growing up a fan just because a team moved closer? It's like asking a die-hard Redskins/Cowboys fan to change affiliations when the Panthers moved to town after pulling for the other teams for 20 years...who would actually do that?I like the Nats, and I'm glad after a few years of being the worst team in the MLB they've managed to make some good moves and turn some #1 overall picks into quality players to build around. I definitely expect they'll get things turned around and be dangerous later in the year. But I'm glad that the Braves started off hot after being picked by a ton of analysts to either miss the playoffs or sneak into a wildcard spot.
4/15/2013 7:56:03 AM
jesus christ, reading the last page gave me a headache. i thought Scrumples was a Nats fan for all of the trolling. Then I find out he's a Rays fan? go troll the O's thread.
4/15/2013 8:25:04 AM
4/15/2013 8:39:09 AM
Ohhhh according to TT10 everyone should. He thinks its weird that I didn't switch from the Falcons to the Titans just because the Titans came to TN after I was already a sophomore in college. And I think Scrumps likes the Rays because the Durham Bulls are a minor league affiliate (although they used to be a Braves affiliate so I'm not sure when his loyalty switched over...). He better hope they don't switch again (as minor league teams are known to do) to some team like the Astros or Marlins. That would suck. I base my loyalty on what hat the janitor for the single A team closest to wherever I happen to be living at the time happens to be wearing.
4/15/2013 8:57:20 AM
if we base MLB allegiance on local minor league teams then I should be a full on White Sox fan. i guess i need to visit the on-line team store.that being said, I follow the Knights pretty closely. Less so the Dash and Intimidators. So i have some interest in call ups and downs between the Knights and CWS. ]
4/15/2013 9:05:20 AM
I picked my team by combining the name of the street I grew up on with my first pet's name
4/15/2013 9:12:43 AM
He's got all you fags snapping on his troll bait. Go bravesNot Texas anybody's not buffalo anybody's or any other team. This thread is about the braves, and the players and teams they will face this season
4/15/2013 9:28:54 AM
I cannot resist Scrumples trolling so here I go:1. I was born in Georgia, every single person in my family that likes sports roots for the Braves, I was in fucking diapers watching Braves games in my grandfather's lap. I subsequently moved to about 15 different places as my dad was in the military though. Every time I talk with my dad, brothers, cousins, grandmother, grandfather, etc. we talk Braves. Am I allowed to be a Braves fan? I guess I should have adopted the Marlins/Rays as I eventually lived in Florida before coming to State for college.2. The Buffalo Bills argument was fine until the Braves won a WS. Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, etc all get to go to the HOF as champions. Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, Bruce Smith, etc do not get that distinction. Put that shit argument to bed.3. Claiming the Rays have done more with less is meaningless as neither team has won squat in the past 5 years. That is the defeatist attitude of a Kentucky football fan begging for respect because they play in the SEC. Ultimately all that matter is championships and the Rays, while well managed, have not won anything and probably won't unless they can draw more fans/get a new stadium. Just like the As. I admire both organizations for running their businesses as well as they can, but in sports winning is all that matters. No one is taking away Yankee and Red Sox titles because they spent an ass of money during the 90s and 2000s.Also LOL for trolling Braves fans when they are off to an 11-1 start and just swept the preseason consensus best team in the league at their place. At least troll us when we are in the middle of one of our guaranteed 5 wins/24 losses type months that we seem to have every year now.
4/15/2013 9:56:41 AM
Jaybee do you know why the bulls aren't braves affiliates anymore? Also they've been affiliated with just about every relevant team at one point or another, but they're pretty locked up on the Rays for a while. And I see another Braves fan is downplaying underperforming, which is kinda funny...
4/15/2013 10:10:50 AM
oh so we can base fanship on closest minor league team affiliation? Greensboro Bats - New York Yankees bitches, best baseball team in history
4/15/2013 10:13:04 AM
I want to blow rflong after that masterpiece. Go Braves
4/15/2013 10:27:42 AM
^lolI'm hoping to make a trip to see them play this year. Looking at maybe the June 1st weekend series against the Nats
4/15/2013 10:31:43 AM
Chipper's number retirement yo. June 28

4/15/2013 10:41:51 AM
The Rays won the pennant in 2008, in case you forgot. Though, I'm also saying the Braves did several times in the 90s and am calling that 'jack' as you put it, as well. Just don't forget all the smack talk jaybee talks about NCSU athletics if you get caught up on the Braves season this year. Also vote that we call him Haynes, since that's what autocorrect wants to do here...
4/15/2013 11:09:36 AM
Lol. Cross platform trolling now. So in the State threads should we remind ourselves of all the Braves trolling that Scrumples has done?
4/15/2013 12:01:48 PM
No you ass hats should just ignore him. Nothing he says is relevant
4/15/2013 1:55:43 PM
Yikkity
4/16/2013 9:20:00 PM
Nice back to back homers.
4/16/2013 9:20:45 PM
Lol. Ugggggglllllaa
4/16/2013 9:21:08 PM
3 out of 4 ain't bad
4/16/2013 9:22:16 PM
Avilan down. Not good. Hope it's a cramp
4/16/2013 9:44:00 PM
It's much worse. He's done.
4/16/2013 9:51:15 PM
Man.. Just when I was like "who the hell do you send down when Freeman/McCann/Beachy get healthy" but.. I guess there's a spot for FFF if he's back firstAlso, it really looked like a cramp. I mean hamstring tears don't seem like it would happen from throwing.[Edited on April 16, 2013 at 9:56 PM. Reason : 1st]
4/16/2013 9:55:28 PM
Don't forget Christian Martinez who we put on the 15 day dl to make room for Ayala.
4/16/2013 11:05:41 PM
reports on Braves Live after the game were that it was only a strain along with severe cramping. Will be re-evaluated tomorrow

Crime in Atlanta is its own wikipedia page.
4/17/2013 1:48:02 AM
Hell Yeah Braves! I'm here at work and checked the box score in the 5th inning and noticed we were down 2-1 and expected to score a few more while holding the Royals scoreless. The pitching has been amazing and the clutch hitting just as. I know the Braves will go through some times where they lose a couple in a row...but with this pitching and the bats we have...I think they'll be few and far between(as long as everyone stays healthy)Glad todays game is a nooner so I'll be able to wake up from my nap and catch the whole thing. Hoping Minor continues the streak![Edited on April 17, 2013 at 5:39 AM. Reason : asdfs]
4/17/2013 5:37:45 AM
Only 26 runs allowed in 13 games
4/17/2013 7:45:59 AM
the Avilan injury looked far less severe after seeing it on TV. I was listening to the game on the radio and Don Sutton and Jim Powell made it seem like it was Kevin Ware 2.0
4/17/2013 7:51:46 AM
Shameful
4/17/2013 9:04:03 AM
Scrumps sounds like my 76 year old dad. Dont go there, there's crime! Dont go to that there NYC, parking is hard to find! Watch out in SF, you might see a gay. Once again, I have lived in both for many years, so its not based on one of a million different reports that you can pick and choose to support whatever view you want, but its based on actually living there, and its a wonderful, awesome city. Your whole view is based on goofy you tube videos and 90s rap videos. If it was as bad as you think it is, then there wouldnt be that many living there. You are in fucking Durham man. Its like Atlanta minus the positives and people. First week I moved to Raleigh someone did a drive by on a school bus in Durham. And I have no idea what any of this has to do with baseball aside from you randomly trolling. I hope we beat KC today, but I doubt it, they have a lower crime rate, so we are screwed.
4/17/2013 2:05:16 PM
12-2
4/17/2013 3:43:02 PM
dammit now we're only on pace to win 139 games
4/17/2013 4:21:52 PM
It's my fault guys I was stuck in meetings all day and couldn't listen to the game.
4/17/2013 6:02:39 PM
4/17/2013 10:20:10 PM
Sorry I went through school and got a decent job and can afford a nice place and don't have to live in the ghetto? I mean if you don't "count" the nice parts of the city as part of the city then yes, it sucks I guess.
4/17/2013 11:02:30 PM
How are the Braves more boring than any other team?
4/17/2013 11:16:01 PM
I don't think you understand. You, in this thread alone, dismissed the RDU area being nice and probably still don't think there's areas here as being 'nice', especially from your domestic-beer-pitcher fueled rage of metro city life, yet you abide in the 3% of Atlanta that's not overrun by crime and defend it as being a nice city. Dude, it's a terrible city when you compare it to anywhere else. You know it sucks, the airport is the most terrible airport in the US, I mean, why are we even disputing this? Do you like chicken and waffles or something? I guess it's good for that...And I'm sorry you think I'm attacking your job or something, but it's pretty likely you get way overpaid for surfing the Wolf Web, Tennessee sports boards, 4chan and Reddit all day. As I mentioned before, class doesn't come from a Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel or West Elm catalog. Go drink another pitcher, bro.
4/17/2013 11:19:45 PM
from what i can gather, jibbles banged his sister
4/17/2013 11:23:41 PM
still don't see how that has anything to do with the Braves.
