^^that's a good deal but if you're really interested in fallout I have seen/heard that the xbone experience is not that great with FPS issues and load time issues
11/26/2015 4:27:20 PM
can't they just push updates or mods to fix those issues though?
11/26/2015 5:14:09 PM
i just bought this. rip to my spare time
11/26/2015 8:32:28 PM
^^Can only do so much with the hardware in the Xbone.
11/27/2015 5:42:59 PM
had to take my settings down to low just to exit trinity tower. game kept randomly exiting to desktop on my way down otherwise. buggy for sure.
11/27/2015 7:15:09 PM
^Have the latest FO4 specific drivers? Haven't run into any bugs yet.
11/27/2015 7:17:26 PM
Its been flawless for me on ps4. Have had zero issues.
11/27/2015 7:30:01 PM
Hmm, I don't know. how can I check to see what the FO specific drivers are? (Being serious)
11/27/2015 8:34:26 PM
Just make sure you have the latest Nvidia or AMD drivers. They both release game specific drivers that are optimized for the game so if you're running an older driver version that doesn't officially support the game then you could most certainly have more bugs and performance issues.

Level 19 and I have more missions queued up than I know what to do with. It's a little overwhelming... POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW.......It's weird for 1 set of missions I'm blasting synths away like no ones business, and now some group wants me to help save synths... Not sure how this works...End [Edited on November 27, 2015 at 11:52 PM. Reason : ]

First Fallout game? The openendedness and ability to make different choices in this franchise makes you want to play through it multiple times as multiple different characters.
11/27/2015 11:59:03 PM
^^ya im 18 and the same, plus ill keep checking my settlements and get caught in a loop running around giving them shit they need. seriously considering working to local leader just to stop running back to sanctuary for supplies!
11/30/2015 10:46:31 PM
^^^ There are 3 models of synths (although you only ever see one "model 2" and he's one of your companions). The ones you are blasting are model 1's. Mass produced, relatively simple, and no more intelligent than other robots (less intelligent than some, like Mr Handy models). Model 3's are the ones people want you to save and they have full sentience and are indistinguishable from humans.Model 2's are sentient but they don't look like humans.

I'm up to about level 7 or so. Is it just me or is this way harder than FO3 or NV? Also trying to get to one of the raider clearing missions it took me through deathclaw and super mutant territory
12/1/2015 9:56:46 AM
Yeah it's way harder. Especially if you do a power armorless playthrough. I ran into a group of power armor wearing raiders while protecting the slog settlement. Didn't go well. Took me about 5 attempts to beat them.
12/1/2015 10:10:16 AM
I got destroyed by the limitless ghouls on that mission where you go to the police station and save the soldier as well.[Edited on December 1, 2015 at 11:01 AM. Reason : best music in any fallout]
12/1/2015 10:54:34 AM
I died a couple times on that, I think for the whole game the secret is to go slow, keep your distance and don't just charge into an area. As for running into high level enemies, I am constantly clicking my VATS today see if there are enemies nearby and if I see something that looks too powerful, I try to just go around and/or even do a diff mission is come back to that one. As someone else said, the perk that shows enemies level in VATS can really help avoid getting destroyed. Also avoid stingwings, those things are hard 1-on-1 and auto death in swarms
12/1/2015 11:05:03 AM
any vets on here want to give me any tips? I've never played a game in this franchise. I'm a couple hours in and I've just got the minutemen to Sanctuary and built all of the stuff (beds/crops/watchtowers) for them. It is a bit overwhelming
12/1/2015 11:11:25 AM
Just do whatever you feel like. You can play for months without doing the main quest.I beat the main quest pretty quickly and then started a brand new character to piddle around with. [Edited on December 1, 2015 at 11:14 AM. Reason : a]

Level 27 and just cleared out Castle. To this point, it's the only mission I've used power armor on. Going was very slow until I hit 18-20. Finally found a couple good rifles and leveled my Rifle perk up as much as I could.Still haven't really advanced the main quest super far. Got to Diamond City and Goodneighbor, trying to do as much of the side stuff as possible. Haven't touched my settlements for shit.
12/1/2015 12:36:05 PM
I was balls-deep in my settlements until I saw the limit on how much you can build. Shit sucks
12/1/2015 1:01:02 PM
If you drop a bunch of weapons on the ground then store them in the workshop in build mode you can cheat the system. Then get them back out of the workshop and repeat.Keep in mind though that the limit is to protect framerates, so be careful especially if you're on console.
12/1/2015 2:05:57 PM
Cheat what system? What limit?
12/1/2015 3:38:42 PM
I was talking about the limit to the "size" bar on the top right of the screen in build mode. Does that allow you to bypass it?Actually there is prob a PC command that allows it too.
12/1/2015 4:20:29 PM
Got it on xbone. As soon as I saw that you can construct sanctuary I was just like"oooooohhhhhhh shit there goes my social life"
12/1/2015 4:40:53 PM
^^ Yes that allows you to bypass the settlement size limit. If you're on PC you could use this mod http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/818/?
12/1/2015 7:01:56 PM
For those who played FO1/FO2...Are you doing all this settlement stuff, building them up, sim citying and what not?I just want to kill mutants and have a boss like the master at the end. About level 14 and still :-/ on the perk system.also, wtf power armor so early... as cool as it is I haven't had any desire to use it.. just feels fucked up.[Edited on December 1, 2015 at 10:49 PM. You don't really need the power armor. I just brought the original back to sanctuary and stuck it in my crafting station. Have since found many more power armor suits, and I've now got them lined up in town like a metallic terracotta army. The fusion cores or whatever the things are called that power them are rare enough that I just save them for later (if I even need them? still don't know if I will). The perk that lets you find extra ammo is super useful. I haven't hurt for bullets since very early on. Until I found a couple good rifles, I used a really high damage pistol, so my pistol perk has a couple of stars in it, but the rifles perk is titties. So is the one that gives you extra AP in vats, and makes them recharge faster. Protip: don't wear power armor and hop in deep water.... that doesn't end well.
12/2/2015 12:35:05 PM
If there was a one-time ability to re-choose perks that would be awesome. I wasted a ton on increasing S.P.E.C.I.A.L stars that I didn't need, rather than staying with the originals and unlocking perks. I actually preferred Skyrim's level up system, could rank up way faster with pickpocket + training.
12/2/2015 1:29:18 PM
158 hours in and just beat the main story at level 72. Still a bunch i need to go back and do. Kind of bummed the path I took alienated two of the companions before I could get their perks but at least ive got 8 of the other 10 already done.I only used the power armor when I ventured into the glowing sea; and ive only been there for the virgil and nuke reclamation story points.
12/11/2015 11:17:25 AM
oh dag i didnt know you could get perks, i leveled up lone wanderer a few times so i've just been sticking with dogmeat. Will have to play with others a bit i guess.
12/11/2015 1:33:49 PM
In hindsight I should have gotten the strong back perks only, then maxed out the AP and AP regen perks. That allows being over-encumbered with little penalty at all. I maxed out strength and strong back but don't have enough AP to benefit from it, though fast travel is solid.
12/11/2015 2:56:48 PM
What kinda pussy fast travels in an open world video game

I saved Kent.
12/13/2015 5:52:01 PM
I went into the witchcraft museum as a level 19Big mistake
12/13/2015 7:44:20 PM
12/13/2015 11:40:32 PM
The deathclaw in the museum is based on your character level.I went in there at 60+ and got a chameleon deathclaw so I didnt see it until it was right on me.
12/14/2015 10:15:47 AM
It spawns walking once you step in the trigger area. Since it was close quarters the Deathclaw is easy to trap in a glitchy pattern and avoid getting raped.
12/14/2015 5:58:20 PM
This silver shroud armor seems really good, any reason I shouldn't wear it?

gg
12/15/2015 2:44:13 PM
^^ I've taken it a step further and killed everyone in the smaller settlements so I dont have to worry about them being attacked. Im not coming to the rescue of two people...
12/15/2015 3:20:54 PM
On the other hand.I wander between settlements helping defend them for xp and loot. Then I wander off
12/15/2015 5:49:28 PM
the only place i felt power armor was necessary was the saugus ironworks. those guys with the flamers hurt like hell and are hard to evade without strategically placing mines.
12/15/2015 7:43:57 PM
For those who have played more, is there a real benefit in shaking it up in your NPC?
12/15/2015 10:55:06 PM
If you get companions to the highest affection level you get their perks permanently. Danse in particular has an awesome perk which gives +20% damage to ghouls, synths, and super mutants.http://www.idigitaltimes.com/fallout-4-companion-guide-locations-and-perks-all-13-companions-489421I made it a point to get all my companions maxed out; though i could only do 10 of the 12 because of story decisions removing 2 of them from my service. This was just because of my own ignorance of the story though; you can definitely get all 12 perks in a single playthrough if you do it right.I say 12 because dogmeat has no affection or perks[Edited on December 16, 2015 at 9:25 AM. 12/16/2015 9:21:15 AM
Damn right he has no affection But in a different way he does have a perk, the level up perk Lone Wanderer
12/16/2015 10:46:23 AM
Companions = pack mules. I go with strong, I'm assuming he has the highest capacity. Codsworth was my boy but he is the fucking morale compass of the commonwealth and hates everything I do.[Edited on December 16, 2015 at 10:55 AM. Reason : .]
