When I ordered mine it said it 'Ships in 5-7 days'. It played out as follows:
11/22- Ordered
11/24- Card charged
11/25- Shipped
11/26- Arrived

I was surprised it came so quick, 4 days isnt bad.

I'm not too worried about the company folding in the near future. It's gotten so many rave reviews, I think they are doing pretty well. They are going to be releasing two additional phones in the near future, at cheaper price tags than the X. Honestly I see this as something catching on and spreading to other companies.

I run a pretty tight budget. When I switched to Republic in September, I started putting the money I was saving on my bill aside. Not factoring in what I just spent on the phone, I have saved $180 already. Its definitely pretty awesome.

And i'm calling it now. Rather than folding, Republic will be bought out by another company. I bet google buys them out one day and turns it into their own wireless company.

On a more serious note, i noticed I had a few text messages from thanksgiving I never received. Well they all came in today, and each one (4 of them) came in atleast a dozen times each. My phone was blowing up for a solid 5 min. Apparently they had a bug in their system they just fixed which released all these held messages.

Anyone else have that happen?

They fixed it, I got the email about the bug fix even though I have not gotten my phone yet.

Now its says the phones ship in 5-7 days, so you think my order will be included? When I ordered it said that it would ship in 1-2 weeks

Were you charged for the plan also? Mine shipped the day the plan was charged and the phone was charged a couple days before.

Well, I used a code for $19 in service credit. So, no, they did not charge me for the plan as of yet.

I have been charged for the phone, shipping, and tax. So you are saying that it will still show a charge for the monthly service even though it was free?

I would think they still generate an invoice but just show that it was discounted with a 0 balance due.

It is two invoice there. One with $0.00 across the board, the other with phones, shipping and taxes.

I am on the Sprint One Up program (basically I have not finished paying for the Note 3 yet), and by porting over my number and cancelling my service will this potentially cause a bad ESN on the phone? I can pay off the balance immediately, but as long as it not delinquent it shouldn't cause a bad ESN is what I am thinking?

ESN wont be bad unless the account is never paid or goes to collections. I think if you port out it wont be bad anyway even if you do not pay the final bill. The ESN usually stays on the account if its suspended for non-payment and eventually disconnected, but not necessarily port outs or disconnections that you request in advance of being suspended for non-payment, that is at least how it worked at Verizon.

I had a bunch of smartphones on an account that got caught in an estate a couple of years ago. (different carrier though) Prior to it being disconnected I switched them all to flip phones just to be on the safe side.

It would be nice to be able to automatically save Google Map directions to Google Keep. It's easy enough to copy and paste but this would be even easier!

RingPlus is good if all you want to do is talk. Their plans are just to limited for me, howver I ain't knocking the hustle. Good shit.

Quite right, RingPlus stops being free when you include the rest of it. But, I use my GoogleVoice number, so texting is free, and data is reasonably priced at 2 cents per MB. So, I do wind up paying $2 a month or so.

I switched from the Defy to the MotoX a couple of weeks ago. Huge difference, very pleased. I'm also on the $10/month plan.

Caved and got two MotoX's since it looks like the MotoG is not eligible for the Jelly Bean rebate as of yet. Now I need to find cases and some screen protectors. The wife liked the Otterbox Commuter for the DefyXT, so I will probably get her the same case. I used the BodyGlove Dropsuit for the Defy which was OK. I have no idea on screen protectors.

I got the SUPcase and its very protective and has a great price point. I dropped my phone once already and I heard a nice protective thud when it hit the tiled floor at work. I am sure it paid for itself with that one drop.

^ I was looking at that one and just ordered it now. There are so many more choices compared to the Defy. Once we take a look at it, we'll decide on the second case.

It is a VERY (I mean VERY VERY) precise fit for the Moto X, and doesn't add really any noticeable bulk to the phone - basically it looks natural in this case. I love it, and you probably will too.

my wife and i both got that case. it is awesome. i forget my phone is in a case most of the time it is so inconspicuous.

Fortunately there is not much need to take it off since the battery is not removable. When my Defy locked up I usually just let the battery drain to get it to reboot rather than bothering getting the case off and the back cover off.

I did have some hiccups a little during all of the storming the other day. But I turned off my wifi and made direct cell calls and it went away. So you have the option to go wifi only or cell only and perhaps one of them should work out should you have reception problems.

It sounds like issues people have been having affected all calls, not just wifi or cell. We'll see.

Oh OK. I can vouch for the service and says that its has been great so far, and the company is still in it's (proverbial) infancy so things like this are to be expected within reason.

They also have been doing work on the Sprint network in Raleigh/Durham, so I wonder if that also has been affecting the calling lately. I know last night i was on cell and I was getting a ton of dropped calls, but I assumed it was still for this.
