Fuck you Slave, face has conclusively proven that small-sample per-minute stats and splits can be extrapolated accurately over the course of a season. He's got algorithms and shit.[Edited on April 4, 2012 at 2:36 PM. Reason : Famous]

http://ncaa-tournament.si.com/2012/04/04/after-the-confetti-top-32-for-2012-13/?sct=hp_wr_a1&eref=sihp11. N.C. STATE. If C.J. Leslie returns — and that seems like a big “if” — the Wolfpack will jump up to the 6-8 range. Even without him, they should be able to build off of a surprise run to the Sweet 16 behind point guard Lorenzo Brown and power forward Richard Howell. The addition of five-star shooting guard Rodney Purvis gives State some serious scoring punch on the perimeter alongside senior marksman Scott Wood.Has UNC ranked ahead of us at 8.

yea, ncaat can be such a crap shoot.if we're competing for the acc-regular season crown, then i'd be more than happy regardless of what happens in the tourneys. if CJL stays and we continue to get media hype, then i hope the coaching staff can keep the guys focused.
4/4/2012 4:16:11 PM
sweet sixteen or bust is absolutely the wrong attitude to have going into this season.just so you're aware ahead of time.
4/4/2012 4:24:49 PM
yeah, you may be really disapointed, perpetual sweet 16 is a very lofty goal.
4/4/2012 4:31:30 PM
i remember a year ago people were saying they had no expectations. now people expect sweet 16? we got hot at the right time. Gottfried still needs to figure out how to get this team playing like that all season long.
4/4/2012 4:33:33 PM
4/4/2012 4:35:50 PM
i'd like to see us be a contender for the acc regular season. that'd be a huge step in the right direction. we got hot at the right time this year and it really showed in the ACCT and NCAAT, but it's hard to expect a sweet 16 every year.
4/4/2012 4:36:24 PM

god this is going to be the longest offseason ever.
4/4/2012 5:06:33 PM
No tourney expectations, we all know it's a crapshoot unless you're a #1 seed.I just want to see NC State beat both Duke and UNC, and finish higher than them in the rankings. It's been 23 years since NC State finished with the best record in the ACC, and 25 years since we won the ACC tournament. Since then, Duke and UNC have had an oligopolistic hold on the conference. Fuck everything about that.[Edited on April 4, 2012 at 5:13 PM. Reason : 2]

Postseason success is overrated in any sport besides NBA and Hockey. Cardinals weren't the best team last year, neither were the Giants. Kentucky obviously was, but UCONN certainly wasn't.

i hear you. i'm just hoping that he gives painter some competition for his minutes, i think it's a real possibility.
4/4/2012 5:42:38 PM
Is a Jeff Withey type the best case scenario?
4/4/2012 5:47:27 PM
C'mom, he'll never be as good as Withey.
4/4/2012 5:49:09 PM
If we're lucky, Vandy will develop into Luke Schenscher territory. Remember how awkward that dude was his first few years? By the time he was a senior, he was halfway decent.Schenscher was also from Australia. Same size, too.
4/4/2012 5:53:19 PM
The real reason Jordan went back to 23
4/4/2012 5:58:40 PM
lol Withey was the Big XII defensive player of the yearif Vandy becomes that good, we should make a Final Four in the next 2 years

predicting next season, i cant believe no one is also factoring in....the return of Karl HessACC refs wont forget either, especially if we aren't underdogs anymore
4/4/2012 6:19:43 PM
I'm sure that it will happen. It's sad, but I really do think that winning it out loud is impossible due to ACC refs.

I'm not going to read all of that, but expecting anything out of Vandy is laughable. So far, the guy has been a 7 footer who plays like he is 6 feet tall and tweets a lot. Any good play from him is icing on the cake.
4/4/2012 8:08:20 PM
i think we'll see some good minutes from vandygottfried will develop him like he has all other players
4/4/2012 8:30:04 PM
^^you're supposedly a wolfpack fan, and you watch most of the games, and you even traveled for the tourney, yet up until a few weeks ago you didn't even know williams was a senior. i don't trust your assessments.

Vandy will be good. The staff knows how to use him. He's had an entire year to learn his role and bulk up. He'll play solid minutes next season and will probably start for his last year of eligibility. He's going to look like a different player. Not saying he's gonna be all acc, but I think he'll be a better contributor than painter was for us this year.
4/8/2012 12:48:48 AM
I don't understand all the hate for Painter. Granted he is not as good as Howell and Leslie but I thought he did a pretty good job as a sub this year. I will be surprised if Vandy is ever as good as Painter.
4/8/2012 8:01:24 AM
^+1Painter made a big stride this year, found his role, and stuck to it. Vandy will never be as good as Painter was this year, much less next year.
4/8/2012 8:57:46 AM
I'm thinking we can get Zoubek stuff out of him.
