He should be getting some serious consideration for ACC POY. Our record is the only thing holding him back from that honor.

I agree he should be in the race, but the media is dumb and only looks at scoring and team strength usually.

They'll give it to Plumlee. Which I don't have a problem with, but the race should be much closer than the voting will go. Hell Howell may not even finish top 10, you never know with media types.

If it was MVP instead of POY it would be a toss up between Howell and Kelly

Apparently the dude didn't practice all week with some sort of injury. Still got a double double.

MVP

Wolfpack Rebounds.

1. Ronnie Shavlik 1598
2. Tommy Burleson 1066
3. Mel Thompson 1063
4. Bobby Speight 1057
5. Howell 951
6. John Richter 936

*This is by my count - I could be off by a few. But I think he solidly has 5th all time.

Damn, Howell, no double-double? You suck! Kidding, kidding. Not his best offensive game, but he played some pretty good d and got a couple steals

Great effort on the glass today. Just couldn't find his touch around the basket.

Clearly a first team All-ACC selection, though I wouldn't put it past the media to screw it up.

Team MVP for the season. No one saw that coming.

Makes me look smart for riding his jock his whole career though. We would have been a pretty good team if we'd benched Dennis Horner all year for Howell his freshman year. Team played great when Tracy/Howell were in together.

No, Howell is so good that he's kept our season alive despite having no bench, an injury to Lorenzo, and a less than stellar supporting cast around him.

^^ Yeah it'll take a couple monster games and consistent double digit games to get there, but that would be awesome if he could get up to #2.

Howell would average 30 points a game it they called fouls when he gets mugged.

i was about 10 rows back at the game tonight, behind the tech basket during the 2nd half. during that worthless free throw tech took with 20 seconds left, i loudly expressed my love for dick howell. i think he heard me. i hope he heard me.

So, Josh Hamilton should drink a 5th of this dude's sweat, instead of the 5ths of liquor he drinks nightly. Got it.

next year will end a great stretch of returning solid, non-freshman, undersized centers that play harder than anyone else on the team. here's to you, ben mccauley, tracy smith and richard howell. i love you all.
