I like that it includes the same god awful flight simulation as the last Black Ops.

That's unbelievably ridiculous move even for Activision. Why on Earth would they do that?
11/20/2012 1:24:49 AM
read where they may be planning to bring it back as a map in the first dlc... which isn't surprising at all -- they will use nuketown, yet again, as a selling point. other part of that rumor is that while early buyers will get nuketown back "for free" (you get to play the map you already own again!), they will have to pay full price for the map pack to get the other 3 new maps
11/20/2012 8:56:45 AM
Nuketown is being added into the Chaos Moshpit playlist. Small maps rotating gametypes
11/20/2012 10:29:45 AM
^That's cool and all, but I was mislead into thinking I could pick up the game today, and play Nuketown all day/night until BOps 3 was released.
11/20/2012 12:07:24 PM
I do not think they ever advertised that there would be a 24/7 playlist of nuketown.Technically, if you were able to buy the game today and play Nuketown at all, then it is all the pre-order folks that were mislead. But I see that you post in jest.[Edited on November 20, 2012 at 12:37 PM. Reason : ]

to buy or not to buy, tonight?
11/20/2012 4:12:08 PM
nuketown sucked anyway.. it was too packed an annoying to play...you might as well get an smg and just hold the trigger down the whole time till someone inevitably sees you from one of the infinite sight lines and kills you.
11/20/2012 4:58:50 PM
^^^ don't, seriously. the game needs some serious patching.. and the series isn't exactly known for pushing out good game patches. i'm personally still curious if i can get a full refund at this point, but i'll probably end up being another pushover and keeping it.
11/20/2012 6:17:50 PM
The guy you follow along with in the futuristic missions is voiced by Merle from The Walking Dead. and it's so annoying.^lol, i bought it. it's not too bad. Gameplay is a lot differend than MW3 and is taking a lot of getting used to]
11/21/2012 11:41:50 AM
the most impressive part to me is the sounds.. guns sound like real guns...
11/21/2012 5:38:46 PM
searched "nuketown" on twitter and it looks like maybe they brought the map back for some moshpit game type
11/21/2012 5:41:07 PM
see donkeys post above^^^ you were warned
11/21/2012 6:51:16 PM
big update tonight... So far, some improvements.
11/21/2012 7:43:05 PM
b on tomorrow evening
11/21/2012 8:07:52 PM
ok just a few complaints, most have already been made1. takes a lot more hits to kill an enemy. you can literally start firing on them, place 3+ in the body and they can draw on you and put you down like it was nothing.2. it's very hard to distinguish enemies from a distance. i feel like, even on my 52" TV, snipers and guys posted up at a distance look like black shadows.3. i miss standard kill and support streaks. this whole "score streak" thing is nice and all, but for someone who plays mostly TDM and KC it's a little rough.
11/21/2012 8:13:45 PM
^KC makes scorestreaks easy if you're playing the game. You can get all your streaks by picking up tags.
11/21/2012 9:53:30 PM
yeah i've been playing a lot more KC the past couple sessions.there just doesn't feel like there are any "safe zones" on these maps. I'm constantly clearing an area and then getting immediately shot in the back by someone spawning or rushing through the area i just cleared. You aren't safe anywhere and i die more from shots in the back than face to face battles. it also seems to happen right when i'm on a good streak. in MW3 you could go on a 4-5 kill run and find a safe spot to call in an airstrike, reload, and just gather your bearings before making another move. in this game if you aren't moving, you are dead. and if you are moving, you are probably dead in a few steps regardless.
11/23/2012 9:46:31 AM
Broke down and bought it. Haven't tried it but will probably be emasculated by 12 year old kids tonight on multiplayer.
11/23/2012 3:46:47 PM
MW3 is better. redbox black ops for the 1 night headache
11/23/2012 5:15:34 PM
Played this at a friend's over the holiday, all I can say is, "Error modifying session"
11/24/2012 8:13:39 AM
$50 on Amazon right now
11/25/2012 12:41:21 AM
starting to understand Fry's frustrations. They made this game so that it's hard for anyone to dominate. And they've made higher end streaks almost non-existent in Team Deathmatch with this new gunplay. people bitched about the support streaks on MW3 but they balanced really well once it was all said and done. I don't think that will be the case here. and carrying a launcher as a secondary and playing the role of shooting down air support is a death sentence. in the time it takes to target and fire the spawn system and chaos of the terrible maps has put two guys beside you to kill you the instant you finish. no chance to succeed in this game.
11/26/2012 4:32:22 PM
I may be dumping the air support rolethe only thing that is ever able to be shot down is a UAV...any sort of helicopter is like a once-every-3-matches sort of occurrence
11/26/2012 4:44:23 PM
putting this game in the case for a week. if it sucks just as bad next monday, it can be cold another week. i will try this for about a month, and then most likely sell it. i will never buy a call of duty at launch ever again.[Edited on November 26, 2012 at 8:58 PM. Reason : ]

21-2 to 3-12 in back to back games. And so it goes with BLOPS2
11/26/2012 11:04:30 PM
I tried so hard to like this game.
11/26/2012 11:18:09 PM
You suckers should know to never by a treyarch game. NEVER EVER BUY THE EVEN YEAR CALL OF DUTY.
11/26/2012 11:45:02 PM
but World at War was the bomb. I miss my Thompson with extended ammo canister. i skipped BLOPS, thinking i should have skipped BLOPS2.
11/27/2012 8:11:35 AM
I miss Makin.
11/27/2012 10:37:46 AM
11/27/2012 11:10:45 AM
quick scoping has amazingly been improved rather than discouraged, and drop shotting actually gets you a "medal" now. these games are little more than catering to the lowest common denominator.
11/27/2012 1:29:05 PM
i feel like the game runner, whatever his name is, completely went against all of the things he promised and promoted when BLOPS2 was first leaked. I agree that maps are small clusterfucks, though i've somehow managed to pull off several 20-3 games on Hijacked by patrolling small areas. But maps like Aftermath and Meltdown are so awful that you can literally go around the entire map without seeing anyone or get caught in it's terrible lines and go 1-12. as i said, anyone running support or even trying to shoot down UAV or helicopters has become non-existent. You would think that making Ghost only available at level 55 that people would want to shoot down UAVs to stay concealed. But no, the UAV is more of a crutch in this game than any other and people just accept it.
11/28/2012 8:37:33 AM
I'm convinced they didn't test this game over Xbox Live before release.
11/28/2012 10:03:11 PM
so where are The White Warriors for this game? Did no one buy it after hearing bad first impressions?i've been able to string together some good matches the last couple nights. half the maps are decent, half of them are a lot of fun. also, setting my match connection to "Best" and being party leader has let me have some better game connections. There are still a lot of problems, but i'm loosening up.also, i suck at creating emblems. i have zero artistic talent.

11/30/2012 8:36:13 AM
some guy went 124-11 in Nuketown. forget what game mode, but who cares, that's an absurd ratio
11/30/2012 10:16:07 AM
You should try MoH Warfighter. Its cheap right now and uts good.
11/30/2012 11:13:01 AM
^lolif they can fix the lag issues, it'll probably bring people back around.
11/30/2012 11:40:26 AM
the only good speedball map ever was Dome from W@W.
11/30/2012 11:57:36 AM
I can't play MoH Warfighter, I got too frustrated shooting people and somehow being the one to die.[Edited on November 30, 2012 at 12:09 PM. Reason : somehow]
11/30/2012 12:03:36 PM
^^god, i loved playing that map with the double-barreled shotgun and sleight of hand.
11/30/2012 12:09:59 PM
11/30/2012 4:33:44 PM
Compared to Nuketown, Dome was good.Courtyard I think is a good example of how a "close quarters" map should be. The high ground was in the middle, and it was fairly symmetrical with spawns being limited to the 4 corners. Easy for a good team to control the map, but that was back then. RIP/nerd
