i didn't know you were able to add lines to a republic accounti'm in wave M, so i SHOULD see the ability to purchase a phone and start service sometime next month (early december at the latest is my guess)...neither my wife nor i are out of contract with verizon, so i'll probably hand it off to my dad since he's in the market for his first smartphone
10/16/2012 3:00:38 PM
Us Cellular offers 5GB plan with free tethering for 30 bucks a month.
10/16/2012 5:02:10 PM
My mother in law needs republic wireless.
10/16/2012 11:51:30 PM
Republic is coming out with a dual band phone in a few months that will greatly increase the traditional cell phone coverage when out of WiFi areas.

what are the odds that they will let me exchange my 2 month old defective galaxy S3 for the galaxy nexus? i want vanilla ice cream sandwich
10/24/2012 11:06:43 AM
vanilla is the best flavor imo
10/24/2012 11:10:34 AM
agreedand vanilla jelly bean (via NS4G) is pretty awesome too
10/24/2012 11:18:16 AM
I'll keep my unlimited calls, texts, and data for $50/month...
10/24/2012 12:15:52 PM
Is the Note 2 dropping soon?
10/24/2012 12:28:28 PM
They want me to upgrade to their new plan...I get that. The thing that irks me is that my bill goes up from 58 to 91 (that's discounted) OUCHOr650 upfront for the iPhone5....that sucks! Verizon just has the best service IMO.
12/18/2012 12:43:34 AM
Why must you change your plan? Do you use more than 2 gigs of data/month?
12/18/2012 10:16:56 AM
No, I use 200 megs a month.The plan I was shown, was $40 unlimited talk and text...and 60$ for 2gb.
12/18/2012 11:25:27 AM
You can keep your current voice plan and just replace the $29.99 unlimited data with the $30 2GB tiered add-on. Only thing is that if you were getting an employee discount on the unlimited data, it won't carry over to the 2GB plan.
12/18/2012 11:33:41 AM
Yeah what ^ said
12/18/2012 11:46:51 AM
taking away unlimited data and then going up in price...ugh.
12/18/2012 12:58:30 PM
Fuck you, it's an penny. I always wanted to say that as a rebuttal.

INTRODUCING http://www.pagepluscellular.com/Verizon without getting raped[Edited on December 18, 2012 at 3:23 PM. Reason : image was huge]
12/18/2012 3:22:58 PM
It's not a fucking penny. They quoted me my new price: $91. I currently pay 68 with my discount, as I understand I lose the discount.
12/18/2012 6:46:23 PM
What voice plan do you have now and what is your data discount? Whoever you talked to is full of it if they said you HAVE to switch to Share Everything. The only thing that can't carry over is unlimited data if it's on the line getting the subsidized upgrade. There are per-line tiered data packages that can be added in place of an unlimited data plan (2GB for $30, 5GB for $50 and 10GB for $80). It'll still be more than a penny though if you're currently getting a discount on your data package since that doesn't apply to the 2GB plan but shouldn't be the $20+ that it'd require if you switched to share everything.
12/18/2012 8:55:11 PM
450 minutes, 1000 text, unlimited data19% off currently.
12/18/2012 11:28:09 PM
play around with the online tools to switch around and compare services.
12/19/2012 12:36:34 PM
big money....laying my $650 down when they finally answer the phones.
1/1/2013 2:38:12 PM
Not sure what I should do with Verizon. Me and my girlfriend both have Droid Razr (not maxx or M) and the same data plan (but separate). She has perfect 4G service and always has coverage, but in the same location I won't have a data or cell signal at all, but hers is perfect. How do i approach Verizon about this?
1/2/2013 1:47:14 AM
Have you tried calling them and just telling them?
1/2/2013 10:53:13 AM
i need a new phone service....should i even consider verizon or is it way too expensive?
1/2/2013 11:07:24 AM
^^^ the phone comes with a one year warranty, however they might recommend you try a new sim card before they replace the device. At any rate, I would call customer service *611 from a verizon phone or 1-800-922-0204 from a landline and I think it's option 3 for technical support. Also, make sure your software is updated. ^ it'll be about $100/month plus tax for unlimited talk and text and 2 GB of data.
1/2/2013 12:37:17 PM
1/2/2013 1:55:43 PM
yeah i am not looking forward to pay $100+ each month ^^republic wireless is no go for me..i will check out straight talk...someone at work told me about virgin mobile (supposedly good coverage in MD/DC area)
1/2/2013 2:32:30 PM
^ with straight talk, there's at least one smartphone (and i think two or three, actually) that use the verizon network...limited to 3G, though (i think)
1/2/2013 2:37:44 PM
^cant i use my own smart phone with straight talk? (say iphone 5 cdma unlocked)[Edited on January 2, 2013 at 2:45 PM. Reason : nevermind found the answer]
1/2/2013 2:40:45 PM
Looks like Verizon is determined to offload some of their customers. Any existing NE2 credits will expire on 4/15 and the usual upgrade date at 20 months is being changed to match the full 2 years. Now let's see how long it takes them to change those still on unlimited to tiered.http://www.droid-life.com/2013/04/12/incoming-verizon-changes-ne2-credits-gone-april-15-device-upgrade-cycles-changing-to-24-months-and-more/
4/12/2013 10:50:16 AM
I'm still on unlimited. If I lose it, I will be moving to straight talk.
4/12/2013 10:52:28 AM
unlimited will be gone altogether before the year is out, mark my wordsthey discontinued unlimited in june of 2011 and so (theoretically) the last 2-year contracts with unlimited will expire around the same time this year...they'll give it a couple of extra months, but i wouldn't be surprised if it goes away in Q3
4/12/2013 10:57:34 AM
I'm guessing they'll wait til middle of next year or so. I upgraded to the GSIII last July and kept unlimited so my contract doesn't expire until July 2014. Granted there's nothing stopping them from just putting everyone still under contract with unlimited plans on the 2GB tiered as it'd cost the same and people couldn't use the material adverse effect clause to cancel without an ETF. ]
4/12/2013 11:12:32 AM
welp, guess I'll be trying to use this:
4/12/2013 11:15:13 AM
Even that wouldn't really be an out since 2GB is pretty much the same cost as unlimited. They'd just tell you to use wifi or find some way you were misusing the service.
4/12/2013 11:19:51 AM
I'll be done with my contract on May 16th. Cool, the S4 is coming out; We'll get those. And you're not only taking my unlimited data away but its gonna be a 30 dollar fee to upgrade and the standard 350 if I break my contract. So, the only remaining incentive to stay with this company would be the people we talk to that also have Verizon. I like the Nexus products. Does any one have experience with a Nexus on a month to month service?
4/25/2013 6:15:08 PM
can i tether with straight talk?
4/25/2013 6:48:35 PM
if you hack your phone
